“You knew about this, didn’t you?”
“I had a pretty good idea.”
“And you did nothing to stop it?”
“No. In fact, I recommended you for the position myself. Allow me to offer my congratulations to the new Supreme Commander of the Ninth Fleet.”
“Do you have any idea how much paperwork a supreme commander has to do?”
“You’re welcome. May I arrange quarters for you on the station?”
Sam Haynes has done well as Foremost Fleet Commander, considering she came into the the position halfway through the term. Prior to that, she had spent the past few terms working as an Assistant Fleet Commander. I think it’s about time we recognized that contribution, along with her empathetic and supportive leadership style.
Therefore, I hereby promote Sam Haynes to the rank of Fleet Captain, with all rights, privileges, and responsibilities therein.
