There’s been a lot of technical work done behind the scenes recently which is now starting to manifest itself in public view, and will improve the club for years to come. Work that previously had seemed impossible. This person played a large role in making it possible, by being brave enough to present a plan to me whose potential was too compelling to ignore. We didn’t end up going with that plan, but he’s been undeterred in continuing to help the club, as I’m sure he will be for the foreseeable future.
I hereby promote Thomas Bates to the rank of Fleet Captain, with all rights, privileges, and responsibilities therein.
