“Speak for yourself sir, I plan to live forever.”
This edict would have happened earlier, but I had to wait a week before I could issue it. Because we have a rule in place from promoting people beyond the rank of Captain more than once in an eight month period. And this person was promoted eight months ago, yesterday (yes, it’s still yesterday, because she was promoted during Pacific instead of Eastern time). Aside from the timing, I don’t think the promotion itself really requires any explanation to anyone who has seen this person work. It certainly doesn’t to anyone who has been fortunate enough to work with her.
I hereby promote Lindsay Bayes to the rank of Commodore, with all rights, privileges, and responsibilities therein.
