I’d write a longer edict up here, but Dan has already summarized the situation, so I’ll copy and paste his post here for the record:
“On January 24th, Jon Hayes posted a number of offensive comments on our #star-fleet channel in IRC. He was warned numerous times by the channel operators to cease such comments, but Jon continued in his behavour. He was kicked from the channel numerous times, but would re-join and continue posting the comments. The channel operators had no choice but to ban him from the channel at that point.
The channel logs were reviewed, and the Internet Department decided that the ban from the IRC channel was to continue until March 1st. A review of his status in STF was to take place when Sarah returned.
However, Jon began using the “Contact” page in WeBBspace to send multiple offensive and threatening emails to a member involved with that decision.”
Given the serious nature of Jon’s actions, which included not only improper conduct in IRC, but also death threats to members of the STF government, he is hereby permanently banned from Star-fleet. PDept, please ensure that his access is
blocked.
