Edict #60
“Stocks have reached what looks like a permanently high plateau.”
Sy is more eloquent than I, so I asked him to write this edict for me… plus, I might get choked up in the middle. :)
Dearly Beloved
We are gathered here today to mourn the passing of Fleet Captain Jack ‘Dippy’ Dipper.
He overcame much in his life, born to the nobility, and heir to the great Dippington Estates in Milton Keynes. Jack, or more correctly, the Lord Viscount Dippington, never flaunted his title. Instead he prefer to quietly reminisce with his servants over a quiet cup of tea, or even a rare Gin and Tonic, before sending them back to their kennels for the night. Never a man to stand to see an animal in distress, Dippy held the record for the most bunny limbs dispatched in IRC ever.
And yet he was a quiet soul. He helped to revolutionise STF in many ways. He served as President on one occasion and Vice President when he was needed once more. He has been a loyal servant to the academy too?.training many generations of Cadets to tell the difference between Earl Grey and breakfast tea, and what it deeply, utterly and profoundly means to be English. He has also corrected the pronunciation of Lieutenant, back to Left-tenant.
He shall be sorely missed. A real friend. A shoulder to cry on. Kinda cute in a uniform too…rowrrrr…
He leaves behind him his widow, Sarah Hemenway, and his collection of cheese nibbles, still stacked in their correct sizes. Jack, we salute you!
Oh? What? He isn’t dead? Bugger. Alright…promote him to Commodore then. May god have mercy upon our souls!
Congratulations, Jack!
