It is with regret that I am removing Clayton from Command of the USS Ark Angel. Despite two previous AWOL notices, and a clear final warning that he needed to remain within AWOL limits, he is once again 7 days AWOL.
We all know RL can get busy, but as I explained to him via email, I cannot stress the importance of the Captain being active in maintaining the ship’s health. That’s not to say time cannot be taken away from the club - that’s what an LOA is for. But without clear communication it makes it very difficult to ensure the ship is getting the right level of support from its leadership.
Had this been a few weeks ago, it’s almost certain that I would have decommissioned the ship. However, I am thoroughly impressed by the XO’s (Christopher Logan) grit and determination to turn the ship’s fortunes around. Whilst it’s not quite out of the woods yet, it is performing well and to a higher standard than other ships, despite having an absent CO and no GM. Chris should be rightly proud of what he has achieved.
The ownership he has taken on the problem, and the initiative shown in getting things back on track, makes him eminently suitable to be a Captain. I, therefore, promote Chris Logan to the rank of Captain and assign him as Commanding Officer, USS Ark Angel.
