Earlier this term, I placed three ships, identified as poorly performing, into a ship health review period. The intent was to ensure the right focus could be given to them, so that they could continue to be viable roleplaying areas within the club. In September, all three had passed the criteria that had been set out. Unfortunately, subsequently, two of the ships are now no longer performing to the standard required to maintain their viability.
To be clear, I do not see this as the fault of the COs; rather a number of factors that just mean, despite focused efforts, the two ships are not able to sustain a healthy environment for roleplaying. As the quote on this edict implies (and once I’ve used before), sometimes things just don’t work out, even if you do everything correctly.
It is, therefore, with regret that the USS Atlantis and USS Genesis are to be decommissioned with immediate effect. The COs are requested to notify the crew and the Personnel Department is requested to assist members on the ships find an alternative ship for their characters. The ship’s posts are to be retained for posterity.
