Changes
Paragraph 7 of “Promotions Guidelines” of the Bylaw is changed from:
A member may receive by Presidential Edict only single-step promotions in Member Rank. Upon receiving a promotion in this manner, the member becomes ineligible for further Member Rank promotion in the same manner for a period of eight months.
to:
With no restrictions, the President can promote a member to the rank of Captain via Presidential Edict. A member may receive further promotion above the rank of Captain via Presidential Edict, but only in single-steps and after a period of no less than 8 months since the previous edict awarding promotion.
Implementation
Amdirgol S was promoted to Commander on assignment to Commanding Officer, USS Wolverine on 16th June 2024. Conventionally, new Commanding Officers are promoted to Captain, however the previous wording of the Bylaw prohibited this. Whilst the change above corrects the wording of the Bylaw for future promotions, this change should also be applied to Amdirgol’s promotion.
Therefore, Amdirgol holds the rank of Captain, taking effect from 16th June 2024, and is eligible for subsequent promotion 8 months from that date (16th February 2025).
