Last term there were more than a few situations that required both delicate handling and decisive action. For this person, that is nothing new.
Since their last promotion, they have continued to serve the club in significant ways. They have served as President, During that term as
President, they presented a quiet outer front that seemed to be one of the calmest terms in recent memory. Behind the scenes they moved from
one continent to another. Raised a two small children. Dealt with every issue that was brought their way. Found the right staff to fill
vacancies that needed immediate attention, and did so with out ranting raving, or letting the club at large know what was going badly, or good,
just fixing what was broken.
To quote her Veep, “Rear Admiral (RAdm): Rare. Rear Admiral is a promotion given to those who have not only made exceptional commitments to the
club above and beyond that which is required for a number of years, but have also had a permanent and lasting impact in developing the club
through government work in Fleets or Departments.
Linds has made numerous contributions to the club since her last promotion in 2012. She’s been thanked and commended several times, including
for being a “tireless worker” as Kat put it for doing “thankless” tasks as Jack put it in the GM department, as well as for the awesome job she
did as an Academy CO for a remarkable five year stretch. She’s made contributions to keep the club going as MAC, she’s written articles that
give us exposure on other sites, and she’s arguably the most skilled writer in STF. It’s unusual whenever she doesn’t win the award for best
STFer, which is given to the person who makes the most contributions to the club overall through both their roleplaying and work in the
government. In my opinion she’s the single most overdue person in STF for a promotion and I would appreciate it if you would consider this
recommendation at the beginning of your term.”
To quote my Veep, “For my input I agree completely with what her veep has suggested. As a newer member She has advised me on a number of
occasions and I can see the amount of effort and positive influence she has put in even though I don’t have a large amount of history to go by.
“
Aside from those I have 3 other recommendations, so it makes me believe this is the perfect thing to do as my first act.
She is a core part of our club and her efforts shall not go unnoticed and unthanked. It is my great pleasure to promote Lindsay Bayes to the
rare rank of Rear Admiral. It is very much deserved. Congrats Lindsay!
