This edict is brought to you by the Letter “L” and the number 5.
A new OOC ship is hereby commissioned under the auspices of the STF Academy named “STF Q&A”.
The STF Q&A ship will be located in the Academy Fleet and cross-linked to all other fleets.
The purpose of the STF Q&A ship is to provide an environment where members can ask questions pertaining to STF role playing or structure, both in general and specifically pertaining to a given department or position. The ship will be overseen by the Academy Commdandant who will have control over the MOTD, character lists, etc., and all course proctors will be expected to read the ship regularly in order to answer questions. All members are welcome to ask and answer questions as they arise. Answers may be generic, short and specific, or demonstrative, as appropriate.
The Commandant, Internet Director, and all Fleet Commanders are instructed to take reasonable efforts to advertise the new ship. The Personnel Director is instructed to add information regarding the STF Q&A ship to the Welcome Letter sent to new members.
The STF Q&A ship will be reviewed by the President and Commandant on or about 1 July 2005 to determine if it has managed to demonstrate a viable and active forum for providing user support to the STF Community. If so, it will be retained indefinitely. If not, it will be closed down.
I would like to thank Jess for the idea, Jack for running with it and bringing about the final proposal, and Larry for writing my edict for me. :)
