This is a subject I’ve been pondering for a good couple of days now, so let me take you through my thought processes.
We have a member in pretty good standing in the club - a former president - infact, who was a couple of days before his command post, politely warned about posting private communications between members on the WeBB.
The email in the election ship was gently stepping into the area of Bob Spurlins edict #6 and 9, however Amanda agreed and convinced me that no further action should be taken against Mr. Cramer at that time, but that he should be politely warned, which he was over Aol Instant Messenger (AIM) on the 24th of March 2005.
However it seems that that particular warning fell on deaf ears, for a couple of days later on the 25th of March, the ante was upped into a verbatim Copy and Paste of an IM log with then EC and current GMDir Sarah Hemenway. Her permission to post such a log was not asked for, nor had it been granted by Sarah.
It was felt by Sarah that Mr. Cramer had not only taken the conversation out of context, but betrayed her privacy and trust by posting it without her permission on a very public
forum.
This is certainly not behaviour becoming of an officer, nor what you would expect from a member who was once leader of this club.
I’m sure there are probably those of you that will disagree with this decision, but based on this evidence I’m hereby demoting Edgar Cramer to the rank of Lieutenant Commander.
