Vera wasn’t both the master and the apprentice of these so-called mind-occupations. She played her own games well, but fell short when participating in others.. that was, until her choice to join the Syndicate. She learned to play by the rules of somebody else’s game, but truly be controlling it from the outside. This was a skill she had learned to use as an advantage, specifically when dealing with thivery and hacking. : : : : : : Yet, over the years, these games began to ebb away at her persona. What had once been a notable Orion woman, had become nothing more than the cynical, wretched vessel of a mind trapped behind hundreds of thick diamond bars, unable to escape. Perhaps this was best for her, as it kept away any weakness that might inflict her actions. If she did not possess her original nature as a member of Orion society, then she had the advantage of being unaffected by morality and ethics. That was, beyond the ethics of her own mind.. and even those were subject to being bent, in case it got her somewhere further. : : : : : : Myvera occupied her time by participating in simple, yet effective, exercise routines. She was not about to allow this ship to break away every part of her, even if her muscle mass was the only thing she could truly control. Lowering herself to the ground, to where she hovered just above the sleek, chilled surface, she appeared to be muttering something in a voice of irritation and hatred. Her eyes were burning with indignation, as she pressed her hands into the tile, forcing her body back to an erect position, where she rested, in plank form, for a split second. : : : : : : The only was she could effective minimize her anger, was to beat it out. This normally meant subjecting her body to hours of exercise, generally slow but enough to tire herself out by the end of it. Today was no different. Lowering herself back down in the push-up, she pushed herself back, jumping up to where her feet met her hands. This was before she straightened her back, bringing her arms up over her head, then resting them at her sides, in what humans deemed the “mountain” pose. : : : : : : Hearing the door buzz, she watched as a Guard stepped through. Her dark eyes studied him, his structure, his features, the stupidity within his pale blue eyes. Picking up a piece of cloth that had been torn from her uniform, she ran it against the back of her neck, in order to brush away the sweat that had accumulated there. “What do you want?” She grumbled, when the guard did not speak immediately after his entrance. : : : : : : Still, he did not speak. Myvera narrowed her eyes, tilting her head forwards a bit, as if insinuating a response that was imploring him to speak. “Well? Cat got your tongue?” She asked, folding her Armani over her chest. She didn’t appreciate when guards wasted her time, even if she had nearly no right to say anything or do anything about it. However, this guard seemed different. Usually they at least moved, but this one stood absolutely still. : : : : : : She turned her head, for a split second, before she felt everything go black. Something of intense heat had hit the back of her neck, robbing her of any consciousness that she had once possessed. Crumpling to the floor, the green skinned woman laid splayed upon the cold, unforgiving ground. The guard approached, kneeling down and throwing her over his shoulder. It was incredibly early in the morning, perhaps around 0100 or 0200. He hadn’t managed to disable the surveillance machines for enough time to complete this. He had an elaborate plan for this to actually work, and it appeared it had. As to what that plan was? Now.. that was a secret. : : : : : : ———————— : : : : : : “What the hell?” A young Guard stood in front of the cell that had once been occupied by the ill mannered Orion female. She furrowed her eyebrows in heavy confusion. How was this possible? There was no way the prisoner could have escaped from the inside. No way that she would have been able to hijack the systems from within. Raising her eyebrows, she tapped her commbadge. =^=Major Vonn, please report to the cell of Statin. We have an issue. Jillian, out.=^= : : : : : : Statin, Nameless Guard, Corporal Jillian. : : : Prisoner, Infiltrator, Guard : : : : In less than a minute, Vonn appeared and walked to the front of the now empty cell. The Breen did not move for several moments, but then with a speed unseen since his arrival on the ship he slapped the bracer on his left wrist and klaxons started blaring the ‘Lockdown’ signal throughout the prison. He spun around and sprinted towards the Prison Command Center. =/\= Vonn to Ops. Pull all surveillance from Prisoner Statin’s cell for the past twelve hours. =/\= and he then tapped the badge again. =/\= Vonn to Captain. Escape. Statin is unaccounted for. Recommend red alert and lockdown of the ship. =/\= And then again on comms =/\= Vonn to Ship’s Security. Prisoner Statin is unaccounted for. Assume armed and very dangerous. Security Chief report to Prison Command Center immediately. =/\= : : : : Vonn, Head Guard : : The man in ops quickly responded, moving his hands in order to bring up the surveillance feed from the past twelve or so hours. He quietly looked through the offered perspectives, choosing the one that was bet notable for seeing what was going on in the cell specific to the menacing creature. =^=Pulled, they should be sent to the prison, ASAP. Ops, out.=^= : : Guard : : =^=Escaped? Noted.=^= There was no further response form the Captain, as she quickly made her way from the bridge, leaving the next highest officer, in charge. It took her a feeble minutes, but she soon stepped into the Prison, making her way over to the Guard, and catching the last part of his words. : : Bov’ar Vonn turned and looked at the Captain. “this way.” and they made their way quickly to the Command Center. “Report.” Vonn said to the guard on duty. The Captain quirked a brow, scrunching her ridged nose as she followed towards the Guard, who spoke almost instantly after the request of the superior guard. “Statin escaped between the hours of 0100 and 0200, all security and observational tapes are coming back with inconclusive evidence and remain blacked out for a period of 0130-0145, concluding that the escape would have had to been at that hour. We are uncertain, as of now, how she managed to knock of security measures.”
CO, Science and GuardOOC: Just realized, the rest of that post didn’t get there!
IC: But, just as the guard was speaking, the comms went off. =^=Salvador to Brig, Captain, Major; there are signs of ion particles still within our general vicinity, apparently leading out of the system, before thinning out and apparently disappearing. They seem to be from a type of shuttlecraft, small, judging by the output.=^= the Science Officer reported, from the labs where he had been looking into the scans of the area.
=^=Understood, Lieutenant.=^= Bov’ar turned to the guard, “Seems like we might have a possible answer.”

Vonn stared at the blank screens for a moment after the Captain spoke. Finally, he spoke. “Captain. In order to coordinate an escape via shuttle craft, Statin would have had to have contact with individuals outside the Swift. She has had none. Any guard assigned here, as I told you upon my first arriving, is vetted and allowed no outside communication until their duty rotation ends. We have not had a guard contingent leave yet. And while we do have Statin in our custody, she is still a both a valuable asset to a criminal organization… and I’m sure a valuable target for Bounty Hunters. And she has made no attempt to escape, or even test, our security measures.” and the helmet remained facing the screens. “Someone outside tampered with our surveillance. Someone with cloaking technology and the skill set necessary to breach our systems unnoticed. While Statin does have such skills, she is also homicidal and psychotic. She would have wanted blood, and no one was injured. We should keep in mind that the prisoner may not have escaped.” and he turned to the Captain. “She may have been taken.”
Vonn, Head Guard
“Taken?” Akarel echoed, running the idea through her mind, as if attempting to understand the possibility of such an event. It made sense, as it would explain the drop in security intel and the reasoning behind the still rather intact position to the starship and its officers. “Do you know, precisely, who might be after her or could benefit? I know Ms. Statin is ex-Syndicate, is it possible they could have returned for her?” A pause. An uneasy sense came through her features. If someone had been able to take Statin without mass hysteria, then perhaps this vessel was in more danger than they had previously assumed. “I need you and our forensic scientists to try and recreate possibilities of how this could have happened, in the event that she was taken. Our security systems, with you at the head, seem impossible to breach. If this happened, I want to know how.”
CO
“As do I.” the synthesized voice replied. It was nearly impossible to gauge Vonn’s emotions by his voice, the voice modulator was not that finely accurate. But even with the limitations of the technology, everyone in the room could tell quite clearly… the Head Guard was livid, and the gods help whomever he found responsible for this breach.
Vonn, Head Guard
“I will contact Lieutenant V’Lii, about this matter. You may schedule a meeting with them, to determine exactly what the hell happened.” She could tell the Guard was livid, and she could not blame him. A breach like this should have been impossible.. so the culprit had to know what they were doing. “I will reconvene with you at 2100 hours, this evening, Major. Try to have some answers, by then.”
