Decker had a slow start getting upon his arrival on the Serenity. He’s already seen some major red flags that he hopes Engineering will take care of ASAP. He wouldn’t want to go up to a junior officer in charge, and rip him a new one, though the thought of that would be completely hilarious. Of course, that lighting issue made him go to the wrong place, and low and behold he ended up running into the last person he’d ever think of seeing here, an old friend. Had a great conversation, but sooner than later, duty calls, and he’d have to make his way around to do his immediate check ins.

He assumed the CO knew he was on board, so he politely told his friend that he’d be back, but didn’t want to keep the CO waiting. Decker looked at his PaDD once again, this time finding out where he needed to be. Made the corrections, and headed to the CO ready room. He assumed the CO would be in there, since a plethora of staff will be piling in soon. Decker stood in front of the door, looking at the numbers in the low light to make sure he was in the right place. He was. He pressed his thumb on the plate, to send the chime to let the CO, if he was in there, that someone was at his door.

Major Tyrell Decker - COS

“Yeah. It’s open.” came a gruff voice and the door slid open to to reveal the CO’s office. Much like the rest of the station, it was sparsely furnished, but had at least some signs of being occupied. The lights and climate control worked, and Decker could see a desk and some chairs on one side of the room. Behind the desk sat a middle-aged human man. The man looked up at the new arrival. He skin was weathered and held a slight tanned tone. He had black hair with gray streaks in it, and a mustache and goatee similarly colored. Piercing green eyes looked at Decker. If the new CoS had seen the news over the past few years, the face would seem very familiar to him.

“What can I do for you, Major?” was the only thing that came from the seated man.

OOC: You can read the bio on him to figure out why he may (or may not, your call) seem familiar to him.

Decker slowly walked in. Wasn’t sure if he needed to stand at attention or not, but did, out of respect.

“Sir, Major Tyrell Decker reporting for duty.” Decker stood infront of the CO’s desk, with PaDD in hand. He wasn’t for sure, but the CO looked familiar, but for some reason could not place a finger on how he knew him.

Stout looked at the Major and said “Stand easy, Major. Formality isn’t my strong suit.” as he stood up and extended his hand. “Captain Mike Stout. Nice to meet ya, Major. Have a seat, will you. We can go over what you’ll be doing here.”

Stout, CO

“Thank you sir.” Decker shook the man’s hand, and then took a seat in front of the CO’s desk. “And thank you for selecting me to do, what it is I’m gonna be doing here.”

Decker - COS

Stout shook his head. “I didn’t select you, Major. I was just told you were coming. But even with that, I’m glad you are here. This station is about to become very… complicated. And the last thing I want to worry about is the safety and security of the folks on here. That’s where you come in. Well, you and one other person, that is.”

Stout, CO

“The civilian Chief of Police?” Decker looked at the CO, to see if he was surprised that Decker knew that. “Yeah, kind of figured that one out.”

Decker, COS

Stout smiled a bit and nodded. “Yeah, him. Well done, Major. I see you’ve done your homework.”

Stout, CO

“Not really sir, sort of ran into him before I came here.” Decker felt a bit embarrassed. “Went to the wrong office, which by the way sir, the lighting, other than your office, needs attention.”

Decker continued. “As for Micah, you shouldn’t have any problems between us.”

Decker, COS

Stout nodded. “Station’s still coming online, but noted. It should be up to 100% in a few days. And you know the Police Chief? Have only met him once, myself. Seems…” and he cleared his throat, “… a bit… ‘stern’, I guess would be a good word for it.”
