After settling in, Ensign MacMoragh decided that he would see where he would be working. Taking the turbolift to the operations center, he looked around for the officer on deck for that day.

Ens. MacMoragh

BUMP

Sitting at the command station was a well built man with balck hair with streaks of gray at the temples and in the mustache and goatee he wore. As the doors opened, he turned, the pips of a Starfleet Captain on his collar. “Yes, Ensign? What can we do for you?” he asked gruffly, but not aggressively.

Quickly seeing the Pips (and wanting to make a good first impression this time) Riker snapped to attention. “Ensign Riker MacMoragh, reporting for duty sir!’

MacMoragh

Stout smiled slightly and said “At ease, Ensign. And don’t worry about all the formality stuff. We are an informal station in most circumstances.” And he stood and walked over to the newly arrived Ensign. “You must be Ensign MacMoragh, right? Science Section?”

Following the Captain’s orders, MacMoragh came to a position of ease and responded “Yes, sir, I am your new science officer.”
McMoragh

“Excellent. Looking forward to having you on board, Ensign.” Stout said and then took his seat. “And I’m glad you are here, Ensign. We are currently at work on three different vessels. One of which is highly radioactive on the interior, ship called the Buskkat. Can you jump onto the Science console and give me a current scan of the vessel and let me know how may rads we are gonna expose the decontamination team to? Oh, and how is your knowledge of non-Federation species physiology? Specifically, a race called the Takret?”

Walking over to the science station MacMoragh started to press buttons on the computer.

“Captain, I am afriad I am not aware of the species, however, I will look them up in the database, if you like.”

OOC: GM or CO, I need to know what I will find.

IC:
“Captain, it appears from Starfleet records that these people were first discovered by the USS Enterprise under the Commad of the late and great Admiral Johanthon Archer. To say they were not friends, would be an understament. I am sending you what I have found now.”

Pressing a few buttons the inforamtion went to the CO’s station.

“As for the reads of radition, I believe it is within our current standards to withstand, however, only in short burts of 20 minutes each person. Thus, they will have to work fast.”

“I think thats why Mr. Ferl’lak hired them specifically. He said that the race can withstand radiation. So they will be deconning the Bushkat. Speaking of which…” Stout said and turned to look at the new Science Officer. “How are you at doing final checks on newly installed Starship systems? Scan systems, data compilers, lab equipment and the like? Think you’d be able to do final checks and sign off on their operational status?”

“Whatever you need, Captain, I am here serve” answered MacMoragh.
