Though it took some effort Ferl’lak finally found a race of workers that can help with the cleaning and retrofit of the radioactive civilian ship. He was on the docks welcoming his new workers.
They were a race called Takret and they were either immune to or had an extremely high tolerance to radiation. This should help speed up the process and to not only be on schedule but to maintain one as well. They were very good workers anyway and Ferl’lak planned to keep them on after the cleanup and repairs were made. He paid them more since they will have a more dangerous job but he planned to give everyone a bonus for working on such a dangerous assignment.

He greeted them with a small party in the receiving dock loaded with food and alcohol. He wanted them to feel welcomed and had personnel take their belongings to their rooms.

Ferl’lak

Yuri could be seen off in the distance near the umbilical entrances with several other starfleet members in medial teal scurrying around moving things and placing equipment inside a covering that extended outward from the entrance. The new ‘entrance’ part had some clear plastic amongst the yellow plastic around it, but towards the back it seems that a metal room had been attached to the original umbilical entrance. Several Radioactive symbols could be seen on all part of the construction. Yuri noticed the Ferengi and gave a nod before it looked like he called someone over, handed them a box, and pointed in a direction before they disappeared inside the construction. Yuri walked over, not in too much of a hurry. “Mr. Ferl’lak, good to see you. I hope profit is high for you today?”

Lieutenant Yuri Balashov (CMO)

Ferl’lak smiled broadly at the man’s comment showing off his amazing set of razor sharp teeth. “Well thank you kindly Mr. Balashov…is it? Profits are at an all time high as of today. I recently made a 75 million Latnium purchase that I’ll get back in five years time. Witch I’m pleased about. I just spent 7 million hiring these people on and getting them here, to aid in the repair of this ship and future ships like this one. This will enable us to minimize safety and health risks and if I’m correct, it will lead to further and future contracts. I’m not your typical Ferengi lieutenant. I’ll spend money to make money and even give it away on such occasions. That’s still hard to say. But that usually gives me more money and more importantly, more trust. Which is worth more than money.”

He paused for a bit. “Once your team and the engineers are finished setting up the containment areas and other areas, then we will proceed with the renovations. How are you doing anyway on your current jobs? Oh and how are you doing personally Mr. Balashov?”

Stout arrived and looked at the new crew and then at Ferl’lak. “Mr. Ferl’lak. I take it these are your new technicians for deconning the Bushkat? I hope they know they are in for a lot of work ahead of them.” he said with a slight grin.

OOC: Thank you! I couldn’t remember the name of the ship!

IC: Ferl’lak smiled at him and nodded. “Excuse me doctor. But you will find what I have to say interesting and it also concerns you.” He looked back at the Captain. “Yes sir they are and believe me, They know! I had to pay them double to come and work here! It was as if they had a Ferengi on speaker and telling them what to say! But these Takret as they ate called, can withstand the radiation or at least be able to work up to eight hours longer in the hazardous environment then the rest of the crew. With that said We could be ahead of schedule in two weeks with the time we will save. Once they are done then they will stay on as crew here, at normal pay of course. They only get double pay for the radiation jobs. This is worth every penny as you hew-mons say. Once word gets out that we can do prime radiation jobs at twice the speed, then we will have contracts with other companies. This will also make you look good captain. Not that you need it but every bit helps.”

He looked at the doctor again. “Now this is where you come in Doctor Balashov. I have hired four of their doctors and brought them along. They will give you the anatomy and talk about their species in great length to you so you can aid them in treating them. Now we are having a party here and it would please me if you Captain and you and your team doctor could join in and mingle for a few and of course, partake in the food and drinks.”

Stout looked around the docking bay and at the newly arrived Takret. “Mr. Ferl’lak. Once your… party… is done, please convene a meeting of all senior staff for a full debrief on our new crew. We will need to know everything we can. Customs, culture, medical issues, dietary restrictions, habitat… the works. If they are going to be part of the Serenity crew, we want them to feel at home.”
