Posted by Civilian Elizabeth Notta (Lounge Manager and Bartender) in Lounge - Open for Maintenance Posted by… suppressed (4) by the Post Ghost! 👻 Elizabeth looked over her plans for the bar and lounge, this was different than most bars or lounges you would find in space, maybe even a little dangerous. However, Elizabeth was an engineer first and a bartender second. She had perfected the design and the materials for which she used were what was required for her to recreate a bar she’d seen years ago when she had first landed on Earth. She enjoyed her longevity and the sights she had seen throughout the years. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : There have been several myths and legends over the years even centuries of the world her people came from. Being on earth is what actually helps her longevity on her own planet she would have lived maybe a max of 200, but she had crash-landed on Earth in Stardate 2262. One of the only friends still living who knows her secret is an El-Aurian by the name of Vol’ta they had met years before Elizabeth had even joined the academy and had been the one to suggest she join Starfleet. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Looking up from her plans and the bar and lounge that was being stripped of the current style it was in the ground work for the where the water would go. Movers from her own ship docked at the station were already bringing in her Bars that she had wanted for the lounge and set them up on one side, with a holo reflective front and black lights for under the bar where the bar chairs would go. From there a specially designed material would go into the floor away from the bar in the center much like a river or small man-made lake that would separate either side of the lounge. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Behind the bar there would be a wall that looked as if there was water and lights with in it to light up the area behind the bar. The jets in the bottom of the wall to make the water and luminescence swirl as if a current actually moved through the water instead. this wasn’t installed yet but As Elizabeth looked around she could visualize what it would look like. She turned to see where the tubes would go, with in those would be more water and fish swimming about creating the illusion of being under the water with them the luminescence with in the water was a special bend to make it light up the tubes of water, but not harm the fish swimming with in. But basically a tall aquarium at least two of them. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Elizabeth smiled and she moved to help with getting to work on bringing what she sees into existence she left the bar installation to her people. The engineer she was working with was helping her turn the power off from the current lounge, to bring electronic components into the bar such as light fixtures, replicators, and installing of the special panels to hold the water she was bringing into the lounge. Usually this would be dangerous. However, Elizabeth had already tested each of the designs for holding water in her own home and on a smaller scale in her ship to be sure they would withstand the pressure of their environment. she was pleased to see that it would. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Elizabeth looked up as another engineer was working on helping her to install the tanks for the bar, “no no not there, I want it over there where I’ve marked it off, and if you don’t follow directions I’ll knock you on your ass Starfleet!” She told him in a tone that brokered no arguing. she wasn’t a CEO anymore, but she could still out engineer the flat foot that was messing with her design. sliding the glass panels with iridescent liquid flowing through them to highlight the water that would fill the small man-made river that would flow up to her bar and back to the end of the lounge with an actual bridge to walk over it and look down at the coy fish that would be swimming with in it. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : In the tubes that were being installed would be a small city designed to look much like the fabled Atlantis lost below the waves where it was lost centuries ago. she had holo-emitters installed in the top and bottom of the tubes to allow the mythical mermaid creatures to swim with the fish that would really be swimming with in the aquarian tubes. there would be a relaxing and mythical vibe to the lounge and bar and yet the music would be a mix of 21st-century soft rock. With a mix of ocean sounds that would be expected in a theme for Atlantis. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Elizabeth looked around and couldn’t help the smile that came to her lips as they worked on the bar and lounge. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Elizabeth Notta, Civ : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : OOC: Here are some of the images that will be in the bar lol : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : https://adelaidefoodcentral.files.wordpress.com/2016/05/b021.jpg : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2016/01/07/03/2FDBE69F00000578-0-image-a-4_1452135710796.jpg : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : https://i5.walmartimages.com/asr/42b88359-3ccc-4ffe-b3f6-da564982bba2_1.b591519833f3796a5122094871f1b238.jpeg : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : http://www.glamadelaide.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/RE_8656.jpg : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : OOC: Dang! That’s a nice design and setup. I hope you don’t mind Ferl’lak coming in. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : IC! Ferl’lak wanted to meet the other civilian business owners and their respected business’. He knew Miss Notta’s bar was around here and hard good things about it. He decided to pop in and have a look and a drink. Places like this and seeing how happy and proud their owners are made him think back to his first business. His first dollar so to speak as the Hew-mons would say. Now he was a multi megabillionaire and he only truly felt happiest in the midst of an up and coming business owner and sharing in their glory. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : He noticed the construction signs and people coming in and out and was concerned that she might have closed up shop. He hadn’t read any notices of such and managed to walk in and find a helmet to wear for safety and saw a woman yelling at the other workers about where to put and place things. This made Ferl’lak smile. It should to him that she was in charge, that she knew what she wanted and wouldn’t be told any other way. “A Ferengi at heart!” He muttered out loud but to no one in particular. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : He looked around some more and could only imagine what she was thinking and doing. What looked to be a steam and pond in the middle was genius if that is what she intended. Fish tanks and lighting everywhere. He could use a room or bar just like this one in all of his casinos and clubs around the sectors and planets he was in business with. But despite being a Ferengi, he was actually an honest businessman. He would ask her for permission first and give her a cut of the profits. She deserved that much for thinking of something as memorable and astonishing as this. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : He walked up to her hoping it was her and in a questionable tone said, “Are you Miss Notta? This is incredible! I am loving what you are doing to the place! Oh Sorry. Where are my manners.” He said extending his hand for a shake. “My name is Ferl’lak. I’m the new head of civilian operations. I was in the neighborhood and thought about meeting you and visiting your establishment.” He said smiling and showing his razor sharp teeth but in a non threatening way. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Ferl’lak : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : OOC: Glad you like it Ferl’lak and I was going for somewhat unique because I’ve never seen anything like it in space lol : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : IC: Elizabeth looked to the Ferengi standing before her hand outstretched dusting off her hands on her work pants she took the man’s hand, “That would be me and thank you, its a pleasure meeting a fellow businessman.” She grinned back. “To be honest the design is based on the mythical lost island of Atlantis which has been a mystery throughout most of earth history and has yet to really be discovered from what I’ve seen,” Elizabeth admitted knowing that if a Ferengi thought you had a good idea then it would definitely be a good idea. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : “Likewise.” He had the familiarity of the English language down pat he thought but still couldn’t get used to the Hew-mons way of using nicknames. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Lt. Mike and a few engineers from his team walked in ” hello is this place open let” he asked with a smile. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Lt. Mike Knight (CE) : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Elizabeth turned to look at the Engineers that entered the bar, then looked around to the bar that was in the mists of an over haul as it were so thought it pretty obvious that she wasn’t exactly open for business just yet. “Not yet boys but the replicator should be working so help yourself to a drink if things go according to plan we’ll be opening for business tomorrow once everything is installed.” she grinned to the potential clientel and wasn’t about to alienate any of them. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Elizabeth Notta, Civ : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Stout was on his way to take a look at one of the frigates currently docked at the station awaiting it’s return from mothball status when he walked by the soon-to-be lounge. He stopped short as he walked past the open door, seeing his Chief Engineer and new Head of Civvy Ops inside. Walking through the doorway, he looked around. A low whistle came from his lips as he looked about the space and eyed the massive uptick in infrastructure and pneumatic systems. “For the love of all that is holy, Junior. I just thought you were gonna paint the place and set up a bottle of single malt. I gotta say… I’m impressed.” : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Stout, CO : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Elizabeth smiled at the CO’s voice, “well Chief, I’m half way there, I’ve got the paint and the single malt behind the bar. the rest is mostly structural and estetically pleasing.” She grinned turning to face him. “I think you’ll be more impressed once its done.” She said with pride giving the ferengi a slight wink as she looked around the place. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Elizabeth Notta, Civ : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Stout looked around a bit more. He then turned to her and said with a grin “Make sure you have an external release for the water. You don’t think I forgot your attempt at the Observation Deck hot tub, do you? Hard to forget 3 decks awash in warm water and pool toys.” but it was obvious he was pleased. “Look forward to seeing it done. Call me for the ribbon cutting.” and he turned and made his way out and towards the frigate. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Stout, CO : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : She frowned at him though there was a twinkle of mischief in her eyes, “Yeah Yeah you act as if I don’t learn from my mistakes. the water will definitely have an external release, besides I didn’t see you complaining when that hot tub worked for the first half an hour.” She smirked. Looking around her place with pride. “Trust me you’ll be the second person to know when the ribbon cutting will be done.” She grinned. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Elizabeth Notta, Civ. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : “Eighteen minutes isn’t half an hour, Junior!” he called back over his shoulder and waved. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Stout, CO : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : “Yeah well it was eighteen minutes of heaven and you know it chief.” She laughed as he walked away. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Elizabeth Notta, Civ. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : After the captain and Miss Notta finished he went back to talking with her. “Miss Notta. Like you said I’m a fellow businessman. How would you like to make some serious cash so to speak?” : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : “I’m talking privately of course. See. I own a string of casinos, 17 was my last count and also clubs, 42 of them, around the sectors. How would you like to design some of the lounges in the casinos and some clubs for me? Also I would love to use this particular design in my main flagship casino on Risa. I’ll pay you 5% of all the revenues generated at all the establishments that have your designs. If my calculations are correct then that would net you about 78 million a year. What do you say madam?” : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Ferl’lak went back to looking around. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : “I say that sounds quite profitable, but you have 17 casinos if my net comes to 78 million exactly how much does your net come to because I have a feeling it is far more than 78 million,” Elizabeth says looking to the Ferengi. “Sounds to me like 5% is a little low for designing bars in 17 different casinos and handing the designs for this one over to your main flagship don’t you? Granted yes 78 million is a lot of money a year I could live quite comfortably off of that,” Elizabeth said looking to the businessman, however, she wasn’t exactly that greedy and honestly wanted to know that he was an honest businessman. 5% was actually quite acceptable to her for the amount. It wasn’t as if he were asking her to run them just design them. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Ferl’lak smiled. “I see. Are you sure you’re not part Ferengi?” He laughed. “I make abot 309 Billion a year from the casinos alone. That’s pure profit after posting the bills. But I said you can have 5% of the lounge profits. Not 5% off the casino profits. But think about it for awhile. It’s your baby so to speak. So if you just want it here, Then that’s fine by me. I won’t steal your design. But I would give you a one time fee of 50 million to use this design at my flagship location if that’s all you want.” : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Ferl’lak : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : A little spider drone found it’s way into the bar area and started to look around it jumped onto a wall and started to run around it saw some metal pool were about to fall so the little drone moved them back so they will not on anyone. Then it saw Fetl’lak it jumped and Softly landed on her shoulder ” Hello i am CHI 14” : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Ferl’lak was going to continue talking when a spider landed on his should and then started talking. “Ah!” He said and tried to knock it off his shoulder. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Elizabeth looked at the spider now sitting on Ferl’lak’s shoulder, narrowing her eyes at it. “I do not have a fondness for spiders who controls you CHI 14.” : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Elizabeth Notta, Civ : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : CHI 14 looked around and said ” i am 14 of 20 drones made my master Lt. Mike Knight i am a engineering drone. Oh by the way there were some rods on the upper level that were too close to the side i moved them back so no one was harm.” CHI 14 just stayed were she was ” And no one controls us Lt. Mike gave us all our own freedom to learn even make friends with the crew our last job i made 6 friends of the crew and 18 wirh the core” : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : CHI 14 (ED) : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : “Right well if I have to suffer a robotic spider in my bar, how about putting yourself to work and helping to finish the installments so I can get this bar open that much sooner.” She said to the spider on Ferl’lak’s shoulder looking to the ferengi and wondering how she responds to this mechanical eight legged insect on her shoulder. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Elizabeth Notta, Civ. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : OOC: That would be MR Ferl’lak. Just a heads up. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : OOC: I thought so but everyone kept saying her in reference to Ferl’lak : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : CHI 14 claped it’s hands ” ok ok ok i love to help” the little drone looked happy. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Chi 14 : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : “Roger that you can help the other officers getting things installed.” Elizabeth pointing towards those that were working already. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Elizabeth Notta, Civ. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : As he had been happening to pass by while carrying a box of some old medical equipment destined to be recycled, Yuri noticed all the construction going on with some voices inside. His curiosity got the better of him and he took a peek inside. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Ensign Yuri Balashov (Medical) : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Elizabeth heard movement near the doorway and turned towards it. “Careful where you step.” She adviced the obvious medical officer. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Elizabeth Notta, Civ. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Yuri set his box down by the entrance and walked in, looking around at everything while being careful of the construction going on around them. The place was definitely coming together and he could .. somewhat visualize what it might look like afterwards, but it was still incomplete and anything could change. The final touches can change the whole appearance of anything. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : He finally managed to navigate his way to the two before greeting them. He knew a small bit about the Ferengi and how … sensitive .. they could be at times, so he extended his hand to the Ferengi first before offering to shake the fiery haired woman’s hand. “I do not believe I have met either of you yet? I am Ensign Yuri Balashov, Starfleet Medical Officer. This is looking to be interesting place so far.” : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Ensign Yuri Balashov (Medical) : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Ferl’lak shook his hand. “Pleased to meet you as well ensign Balashov. I’m Ferl’lak. The head of civilian operations here. And this place is truly amazing.” : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Elizabeth smiled at the way the ensign greets first Ferl’lak then to herself which was how she felt it should be since Ferl’lak was a guest in her establishment. “Nice to meet you as well, I am Elizabeth Notta, and this is going to be the Atlantis.” She said waving her arms to the almost finished establishment that the stood in. “Welcome.” She grinned. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Elizabeth Notta, Civ. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : He gave a small nod to Elizabeth’s greeting, “A pleasure, I assure you.” He lowered his head slightly in greeting, but his eyebrow raised at the name of room in construction. “Atlantis? Like fabled island Atlantis?” Even his heavy Russian accent couldn’t hold back his intrigue at the name. He turned to look at the room trying to picture it a bit better now armed with the knowledge of what the place will be called. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Ensign Yuri Balashov (Medical) : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : “I did get my inspiration from that yes,” Elizabeth admitted with pride though she was a bit more knowledgeable about the lost island, not that anyone here knew that of course. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Elizabeth Notta, Civ : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Ferl’lak : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : OOC: I miss a couple of days and a bunch of posts appear! If I was quicker on the ball, Ferl’lak would have just grabbed the spider and ate it! : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : OOC: Lol full of protein :P : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : IC: “I may not be part Ferengi, but I would be an idiot to pass up on my design ideas for your lounges, besides 5% is actually fair considering I won’t be running your lounges just designing the clubs, I’ll take the 5% for each design you like for your casino bar and lounge, and the 50 million plus the 5%, to use this design in your flagship.” Elizabeth told Ferl’lak without a moments hesitation, the money he was offering would keep her confortable for years to come. She wouldn’t have to work again, but she liked working. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Elizabeth Notta, Civ. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Ferl’lak grinned showinghis sharp teeth and reached out to shake her hand. “Then please come to my office in two days time where we will finalize this agreement legally. I will have a lawyer of your choosing on the view screen who will look at everything and make sure it is on the up and up, so you will feel better about doing business with me. I’m not your typical Ferengi my dear. I am far more superior and that is a fact, not boasting. I look forward to our next meeting. Do you have any questions right now?” : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Ferl’lak : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Elizabeth grinned in return, “Then I shall see you in two days, I’ll bring a vintage malt Scotch, the best you’ll ever taste in the whole Alpha Quadrant.” She grinned shaking the Ferengi’s hand. “Ferl’lak, if you were the typical Ferengi, I would have tossed your ass out the moment you stepped in, but you don’t have that typical Ferengi vibe so I can tell a man of quality when I see one.” She said completely serious. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : He could definitely feel the slight pressure between the two. Bargaining for business was definitely something incredible to view, however, Elizabeth’s unflinching confidence was surely something to behold in front of such a successful Ferengi. Where did such confidence come from? There wasn’t really much room for Ferl’Lak .. or was it perhaps that this was exactly what he wanted? Yuri remained quiet watching the two and could only watch as they continued. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Ensign Yuri Balashov (Medical) : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : The young woman turned to look at the Medical officer noting the way he watched them. She gave Yuri a wink she was confident in who she was and what she can do, and that confidence comes from taking the time to test the waters before finalizing the design. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Elizabeth Notta, Civ : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Yuri just stroked his beard and his lips flattened out while he nodded in somewhat of a ‘Not bad’ kind of expression. Though his expression couldn’t adequately express how impressed he was with that situation he did the best he could while keeping it subtle. He didn’t want to say anything until the wealthy Ferengi had left, but he was definitely amazed at the exchange. Had he been in that position, who knows how that kind of deal would have ended up. The fiery headed woman definitely had the same personality to go with it. What else could this woman accomplish, or perhaps, the better question would be what couldn’t she accomplish? : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Ensign Yuri Balashov (Medical) : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Elizabeth looked to the medical officer still as the Ferengi Ferl’lak left, “You ok there Sport?” She asked cocking her head slightly as she watched him. He seemed to be hiding something not that it mattered, as long as it didn’t interfere with her bar opening on time he could have all the secrets he wanted. “You look like you could use a drink and I could use a bre… No not there, I don’t want the girls hiting anyone while their sitting in the booths there, put the rings over there. Come on their for entertaining not falling in your lap.” She yelled at one of the engineers before turning back to the medic. “Your name was Yuri right? Come on lets have a drink so you can relax a bit your too tense.” She said heading for the bar. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Elizabeth Notta, Civ : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Yuri nodded. True, the whole part of his complexion always made him look rather tense or intimidating. He stood quite tall and his muscular physique was fairly apparent even through his uniform, but the real thing that usually threw most people off was his shaved head and full beard. Well, with all the work that’s currently been going on, it was more stubble than anything atop his dome. “Yes, yes. I am Yuri, a drink .. ” He though for a moment and looked back towards the box of broken and old supplies and shrugged slightly. They would still be there when he finished. “A drink would be nice.” He followed her towards the bar curious about learning more about her in general. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Ensign Yuri Balashov (Medical) : : : : : : : : : : : : Elizabeth made her way over to the bar pushing her firey red hair over her shoulder as she did so. Once behind the bar she reached for two cups and one of her bottles of scotch, the real deal not that synthaholic crap that you usually found on ships. She poured a healthy dose into both cups before handing one over to Yuri, “To your health.” She said with a smile before taking a drink. : : : : : : : : : : : : Elizabeth Notta, Civ. : : : : : : : : : : OOC: Sorry for the late reply .. got the shaft at work and had to deal with the critical issue :\ just got home. : : : : : : : : : : IC: Yuri’s soft eyes seemed to light up at catching a glimpse of the bottle. Scotch. Not much else needed to be said or shown. He wasn’t the typical Russian that always prattled on about Vodka and Mother Russia. Yuri found it to be bland; tasteless. Sure you can flavor it with almost whatever you wanted, but it was a drink designed for just one purpose. To get you as inebriated, as quickly as possible. Scotch on the other hand.. That had depth. Flavor. Harmony. Every sip was something to savor. Where had this bottle come from? He definitely wasn’t about to ask questions as he raised his glass as well. “Confidence, and good taste. Impressive Ms. Notta. I drink to your health and..” He paused to take a quick glance around to all the construction going on. “Business as well.” He then took a drink from the glass that she had poured for him, savoring it for a moment before swallowing and enjoying the slow creeping warmth it provided inside him. : : : : : : : : : : Ensign Yuri Balashov (Medical) : : : : : : : : She smirked as she watched him, “you won’t find any of that synthahole in this bar, not one drop. I’m glad to see that I’ll have at least one customer on a regular basis though from the way you seem to be appreciating the Atlantis and it’s not even finished yet. I, however, plan to have her up and running tomorrow, once the rest of these water panels are in place I’ll let it flow.” She grinned, “I’ll let you in on a secret though, your Captain doesn’t think the panels will hold long for the water pressure. I tested it all out myself it’ll hold.” she said brimming with confidence in her work and her bar. : : : : : : : : Elizabeth Notta, Civ. : : : : : : Yuri raised an eyebrow, “One day ..? Considering everything that needs to be done that is ambitious. Though .. ” He lightly tapped the bottom corner of his glass against the counter, looking at the incredible liquid in it. “This would definitely pull me out of hole in medical.” He chuckled lightly at his statement. “Besides .. this place. I can tell you are putting everything into design. Peaceful and chaotic in some ways.” Yuri took a breath and paused for a moment to look around. He nodded as if he convinced himself of something. “I think I would come back often.” He leaned in a little bit, hushing his voice slightly. “You are sure water holds? If I am remembering correctly, the Captain is Engineering specialty, yes?” : : : : : : Ensign Yuri Balashov (Medical) : : : : Elizabeth smirked, “So is mine.” She said after leaning in as well. “He used to be my CEO so he will forever call me Junior.” Elizabeth laughed at that, it was a clear and musical really. “That’s how I know that the water will hold. My design is flawless, if I thought for a second it wouldn’t hold I wouldn’t be using the theme,” Elizabeth said with a confident grin. : : : : Elizabeth Notta, Civ. : : Yuri was by no means an engineer so he couldn’t go against her logic, the extravagant laugh said all that was needed. It did take him a second to piece that first part together in his own mind though, being distracted from her laugh. “You are prior Starfleet ..?” He asked rather inquisitively. “With Engineering background and confidence to best even a Ferengi, who am I to argue?” He held up his glass with a warm chuckle, “Perhaps I should be calling you ma’am?” He took another small drink of it, leaving about a third of it left when paired with his last. He savored it as he did before, trying to find the subtle ingredients of the scotch hidden in the flavor. “What would you prefer to be called Ms. Notta ..?” Yuri tended to always lean towards a more respectable side, though if someone had a preferred name or nickname, he didn’t have any objections to addressing them the way they wanted. : : Ensign Yuri Balashov (Medical) “You better bite your tongue before you call me ma’am I’m not old enough for that.” She smirked. “Most people just call me Elizabeth, Captain calls me Junior but I call him Chief so there is that, But to answer your question yes I am formally Starfleet. Still, am really just retired and now I design bars.” She grinned. “Most confidence is false bravado you give the illusion that you know what your doing and those around you will accept, try to crack you or be intimidated by the confidence one puts on. Though I have every right to be confident in my work since I took the time to do it right,” Elizabeth told Yuri, she sipped at her drink as well. Elizabeth Notta, Civ“Elizabeth it is then.” He tilted his head to the side. “I am sure you get asked a lot, but why did you decide to leave? Starfleet, that is.” He was genuinely curious as to what her answer could be, everyone had their own reasons. Some for relaxation, some that didn’t quite like dealing with orders, and those who just felt that it just wasn’t for them. Regardless of the reason, he was sure it was a good one. Heck, with the way the bar was designed and the way it was already starting to turn out, it’s almost like this was her real calling.

Elizabeth thought about it for a moment as she savored the flavor of the scotch in her cup. “Well it’s not so much as resigning from Starfleet, I just retired from teaching. I needed a change and so stepped back from Starfleet.” She said honestly. She smiled softly, at the thought of it. “Though my students were sad to see me go, I just needed a change.” She said softly.

“Now that is expression that suits you well.” He raised his glass slightly in her direction at her soft smile of remembrance. “Teaching is important, especially for those who enjoy the learning.” He spoke earnestly. He would never change the way he spoke because he always felt it important to be honest, though sometimes it did cause a bit of friction to some peoples’ personality on occasion. “Great instructors are few and far between, the Academy must be at great loss without you, but we must always seek way to improve self. Could be change you mentioned?” He grinned widely this time. “To always learning, yes?” Yuri himself always immersed himself in whatever he was learning. Whether it was learning about someone, about a new species, almost anything. Especially if it involved helping someone, he loved everything about gaining that knowledge for that one moment it pays off to see someones smile.

Elizabeth listened with a soft smile understanding his desire for knowledge. “So what made you choose the world of medicine?” She asked him sipping her drink.

“As simple as it may sound, it is to help people. Contrary to belief, Russia still not best of places. Colonies not much better..” He swirled what was left of the nectar of the gods in his cup before taking a small sip of it, trying to make it last longer. “There is far too much violence in universe and violence solves nothing. Only begets more violence. Much, much more can be accomplished by talking; Helping. Even Borg knew to engage in diplomacy on rare occasion.” Yuri sighs, digressing a bit and taking more of a somber tone. “But mostly .. I want to heal that damage done by violence. Might sound foolish and impossible, but that is me. A smile is worth effort to stifle the tear.” Despite his intimidating and somewhat aggressive outward appearance, at the moment he seemed more of a teddy bear if anything.

Sherlock gave a little stretch as he came in, having listened to mentions of a number of the staff deciding to check this place out. So why not do so himself as well. Giving a look around, it was kind of impressive.
- Lieutenant Grimes (COps)
Elizabeth looked up as the doors to her almost ready establishment opened and smiled at the officer, “Welcome to Atlantis Lieutenant.” She said in a welcoming tone of voice to the latest officer to enter her lounge and bar.
