Omni had never been the type that was huge on social graces. She hadn’t truly the knowledge nor the proper training as to how, when it came down to it. Thus, she found herself attempting at learning these peculiar ways, those which the humans had found themselves so inclined to use. Tact? She understood that. Well, not entirely. To be quite honest, she did not get why people felt the need to sugarcoat what was blatantly obvious to them. With that being said, she was not exactly the most human of people. Not visibly, at least.Meandering into the gym, during a time she knew people would be about, Omni removed her towel from her neck, swinging it onto one of the chairs that lined the recreational area she had chosen. Lowering herself to the grown, she began with a few basic procedures. Planks, mountain climbers, push-ups, side raises, etc. All things she had learned throughout her years of watching humans exercise. Her own modes of exercise were structural cardiovascular. Her species was much more inclined in the running, hiking and otherwise heart-rate based exercises that many humans seem to.. well, hate.
Arms placed just below her shoulders, her weight pressing against the heel of her hands and the palm, she held herself in a vertical, high plank. these were debatably one of the easier types of planks, but many might argue low or table planks were the best. For Omni, she didn’t agree. Once more, not human. As she held her body in this upright position, she forgot she was holding the plank, as it became the absence of movement, as she held herself in rigid place. During this, she allowed her mind to wander. Which, contrary to popular belief, was possible. With that being said, a part of her attention rested on those around her.

TrinYuri was in another corner of the room behind a couple of miscellaneous machines that obscured the entrance of the place from his view. He was standing in somewhat of a forward, athletic stance as he watched his form in the mirror. The fabric he wore at his wrists wrapped around under his hands on the bars of the 45 kilo dumbells that he was lifting up, one arm at a time in a hammer curl. Most of the time he just wore his uniform and it seems to obscure most of his physique, though one could always tell there was definitely some form underneath it. However, in the gym he only wore a grey sleeveless shirt and black basketball shorts. The shirt and skin was damp with his sweat indicating he must have been in there for a while as he kept at the steady rhythm, with a somewhat quiet “Tsss” sound as he contracted his muscles to bring the weight up.
After a few more curls he left them hang at his sides for a moment before taking two steps forward to set them back down on the rack, with somewhat of a loud clatter, completely different from his quiet, short exhales through his teeth. He sat down on an inclined bench and leaned back against it with his arms dangling limply at his sides as he shook them for a minute to catch his breath.

Raising to her feet, she pressed her hands against her spine, which was partially metallic after several of the vertebrae had been crushed in an event of her youth. Adjusting her hands to apply pressure to the area of discomfort, which soon faded, much to her approval, she allowed her gaze to survey the room in consideration of what was around her. Catching sight of the young Doctor, well, it was hard to call him young when they were within a year of each other in age. However, she still determined him to be one. Nodding to him, she decided to make her way over, undeniably curious as to what he was doing.
“Hello, Yuri.” Omni did not often call people by their first names, however, she did not find that deeming him a name of formality would be remotely appropriate for the casual situation. If it were anyone else, she probably would have determined otherwise.
Lt. Cmdr. Omni
XO“Ah, Commander.” One of Yuri’s habits was that he always seemed a bit too formal at times. Though it was always in his nature to show respect for others, sometimes it seemed odd in some situations. “I did not see you here. It is good to see you in gym, how are the ankles?” He sat up and looked down at them before back up to here, setting his right arm in his lap. He reached over with his left to grab his right bicep, subconsciously rather insecure about not wearing something that would be a bit less revealing, but at the same time it was rather sore from the routine he had just put them through. He dug his thumb into it rolling small circles in it as he listened to the Commander as somewhat of a small, deep tissue massage on himself.
OOC: Speaking of which, I gotta find those threads and post on them :O I’ve let them lapse!
Lieutenant Yuri Balashov (CMO)
OOC: It is okay! Take your time. :)
IC:Omni offered him the faintest of smiles, which seemed fairly common of her, as she attempted to come off as amicable or otherwise friendly to the opposing officers. “Your solution seems to be working well. Tension and aching is occasional, rather than continuous, which has been a welcome relief during the longer work shifts.” She informed, still a sense of robotic monotone laden her voice, as if it were still a part of who she was. “Is your arm all right, Doctor?” Omni inquired, noticing the almost subconscious movement of his hand to his bicep. She pondered if this had a psychological reasoning or if the muscles of his arm were offering him sensations of pain or discomfort.
Lt. Cmdr. Omni
XOIt might have been faint, but Yuri definitely noticed. It almost wasn’t all that long ago where she was just completely stoic. Even if she had to put thought into remembering the times and which reactions were appropriate it was progress none-the-less. The slight smile definitely seemed to put him at ease as opposed to his defensive nature earlier. “Ah yes, is fine. Just normal muscle tearing when lifting heavy things.” He chuckled slightly as he motioned over towards the bottom of the rack where he has set down the 45 kilo weights. “I am also glad to hear they are doing better. I am sure they will be back to normal in few days time. He stretched his arm out and shook it a bit before flexing it a few times to make sure it felt a bit better for him to continue. “I do not often see you in Gym though, what brings you today?”
Lieutenant Yuri Balashov (CMO)
“Perhaps water?” She suggested, alongside his streching. Apparently, humans required a lot of water when they were in effort to exercise. Perhaps it was because of their body’s composition being majorly of this clear substance, which seemed one of the most vital buildingblocks for life. Yet, she could not say much, as she was not a medic and had very little experience when it came to such a nature. Of course, that did not mean she could not suggest, it merely entailed she might be a bit off.. no, likely a bit off. “I trust your judgement, Doctor.” She agreed to his words, “It seemed to be a way to exercise any excess energy and socialize, I suppose.” She remarked, calmly. “As for your self, Doctor?”

“Ah yes, water always good. Important for humans and many species to stay hydrated. I always make sure to bring bottle to gym!” He reached down a bit behind him under the bench to pick up a rather large bottle which looked to be about 1 liter in size with an opaque green exterior to take a small drink from it. “Socializing is almost just as important, though some prefer their solitude.” It was an easy deduction that he was indicating towards the Vulcan race that seemed to spend a good majority of their time by themselves meditating in rooms. “As for me? I suppose .. to keep up appearances? Though at this point it is mostly habit.”
