“Computer!” Aihia burst through the doors of her office, barely awaiting the system’s activation blip. “Notify Commander Saunders and have him report to my office immediately.”A man was dead aboard her ship, another crazed and on the loose. Ael had known since the moment Lockehart stepped aboard the Dauntless, something was off. Now he was wrapped in a body bag, his lifeless vessel en route for the ship’s morgue. There was no evidence of his attacker, beyond speculation which left them without cause for prosecution. They stood with their hands tied behind their back while a killer ran about Dauntless’ decks, marking targets on the backs of her crew.
=^=Commander Saunders has been notified.=^= A painfully metallic voice rang in her ears, snapping Aihia from her thoughts.
Captn. Aihia
“Captain, is there anything I can do?” Saunders said.
Lt. Cmdr. Saunders
Chief of Tactical“No, Commander. If I did not contact you, then I do not require your presence.” Aihia stated, shortly. “Please return to the bridge.”
Captn. Aihia, CO
“Understood Captain.” Saunders said as he returned to the bridge.

OOC: HOW DID I MISS THIS TOPIC?! D:
IC:
Max had been in his quarters wracking his brain on what could have possibly happened. All the way from the female marine being assaulted by the admiral or the admirals staff, to him now literally chilling in the morgue. They have to have missed something, some sort of clue that he must have missed. The communications chime and message echoed him back to reality. Typically she’d just send the communication herself so this had to be extremely important. Thankfully it wasn’t too far away from her office and he knew to not keep her waiting. Maybe she could help with some insight? Having two people look at a problem is always better than working on something alone. He leveraged the comm system in his quarters for his message.=^= On my way immediately Captain. =^=
It was just a short run on his way to the office and for the last couple of feet he dwindled that down to a fast walk as to not seem out of the ordinary. His finger naturally found the chime for the door as he already leaned forward, ready to take a step in as soon as he heard the reply from within.

XO“Come in!” Ael stood with her back to the door, staring at a holographic projection of the Lockehart case’s data. In her hand, a glass of water half empty. Aihia rarely drank water voluntarily.
The instant he heard her summons he stepped within range of the door sensor and with the typical hiss, he stepped in, walked towards her desk, only briefly glancing up the steps towards the large window he remembered to be there.
“Max,” she threw a glance over her shoulder, turning to meet the man when he entered. “Where have you been?” It was besides the point. She gestured him over, “I’m sure you’re aware of the recent predicament with Admiral Lockehart.” She cocked her head towards the hologram, indicating the displayed file.
Max nodded as he walked over before placing his hand on her desk and peeking around the side at the data that he had been studying over time as well. “My apologies Captain, I was just in my quarters trying to figure-” He somewhat trailed off / was cut off by her next sentence.
“My question is how the hell did someone manage to infiltrate a leading battlecruiser?” Ael set the glass down and studied Maxwell carefully. “I can deal with a marine being assaulted. Those are simple charges; a wound healed with medicine and proper psychological treatment. But a deceased Admiral freezing in our morgue? That is not as simple to simple look over.”
“Before I show you the autopsy report, what do you think is happening here? What should be done?” She rose a hand before he could speak. “Honestly. I don’t want another officer swatting Starfleet protocol at me. I want a candid opinion. So, tell me, what do you see?”
Ael Aihia, CO
“That’s exactly what I was trying to figure out..” He sighed already giving a hint that he was already almost at his wits end as well. “Nothing about this situation makes sense. Though the only one oddity that sticks out in my mind is that female marine that I saw with Major Crystal. She had claimed it was the admiral that assaulted her, but then shifted towards saying it was a member of his staff.” I know trauma does some very dangerous things to the mind .. but she seems to be the only lead we have at the moment.” He tapped her desk a few times in thought, before looking behind him towards one of the chairs and sat down, leaning forward, with his left hand and right elbow on his knees, respectively. His right hand held up his chin as he thought.
“That is strange. Trauma has a tendency to manifest itself in odd ways. Although, the jump from Admiral Lockehart to a junior member of his staff is drastic.” She leaned against her desk, folding her arms in thought. “Did she show any signs of physical injury? A black eye. A torn uniform. Anything that truly indicated she was hurt?”
Max thought for a moment, recalling what he saw when he entered Crystal’s Office when the call came in, “If I recall correctly .. she did have what appeared to be the start of a black eye and she was fairly distraught about what had happened, but calmed down after a while.”
“Granted I’m not too much of a fan of the Admiralty myself, but they make some pretty hard decisions. It seems that someone clearly wanted Admiral Lockehart dead, as for why .. I can’t seem to find anything on it. It reeks of an assassination..” He scratched his chin next. Something about this had to be done. Regardless of the reason he felt that no one should be judge, jury, and executioner. They had gotten rid of executions well in the past. They had to figure out who this was so they could be taken and questioned as to why.
“When surveying the scene, there was no blood. In fact, the Admiral didn’t have so much as a scratch on his body.” Ael drummed her fingers against her bicep. “There was no sign of strangulation or struggle besides a tattered uniform, suggesting he died of natural causes or poison.” She bit the corner of her lip, considering Kathy’s guilt. “Correct me if I’m wrong,” she gestured to him in acknowledgement of his background in psychology, “but poison is generally a feminine tactic, used typically in cases of retribution, along with asphyxiation and drowning. They’re invisible killers, leaving the unsub detached from the murder itself.”
“I can pose somewhat of an idea .. though it’s not something I would typically recommend.” He was part Betazoid after all, though while his genetics and training didn’t give him the gift he really needed when it came to telepathy, he found a depth and serenity when it came to empathy. One of the many small great things about is .. he was basically a walking lie detector among other things.

XO“At this point, I’m not asking for conventional.” Aihia lodged her heel at the foot of her desk, pushing herself forward. “What do you have in mind?”
Aihia, CO
OOC: Fixing errors. -Trin
He shifted slightly as it was usually something he didn’t advertise, though in this case it seems that it was rather needed. Usually part-betazoids didn’t have as much mastery or talent when it came to full betazoids and their psionic abilities, in his case however, with extensive practice on his own and with the few individuals he trusted and practiced with over time, he was able to be pretty proficient with empathy. Telepathy was still out of his own reach so he couldn’t read minds or anything to that nature, but he could broadcast a certain feeling to those in close proximity if he focused hard enough. “Well .. I’m sure you know about Betazoids and their abilities, though as a half-breed I can’t do anything extravagant, but ..” He paused, really wondering what kind of repercussions this could have. ” I do have a certain control over empathy. It’s pretty easy to tell if someone is lying or in other cases .. I can have someone feel that I could be an absolute person of trust or have them absolutely petrified as if I were just a real a threat as the Borg right in front of them. It all deals with their feelings.”
