T’Pon, like CE Argeneau, was genuinely suspicious of this Fitzgerald character. It seemed out of place for an officer out-ranking the CE to be assigned to a ship like the USS Dauntless, especially since an ensign (who would be the logical choice for the job) was passed over for it. It seemed very out of place for someone incredibly over-qualified to be given a front line position rather than work in a Starfleet informatics laboratory. If someone was so over-qualified they got a job, it was generally because they had an ulterior motive. That’s what any good personnel selection officer would tell you.

The commander then arrived in her office, getting used to the place she would call home for the next year or so. She opened her computer and began investigating Lt Carter Fitzgerald. Her JAG clearance would allow her to investigate the man fully, even accessing classified info.

T’Pon would research the following things: service record, political and psychological profile and potential thumbscrews (namely, particular things that can be used to control a person through blackmail or financial gain).

OOC: My character likely has top security clearances and has the skill to find out almost anything. A complete profile on Fitzgerald might be in order.
