He then stood up and held a hand out for the young officer to take, placing a hand on her shoulder as well for additional support. “Up you go Marine, let’s get you down to medical to make sure everything is okay.”

Tentatively, Kathy grasped his hand, pulling herself up from the seat she had wallowed in. A weight had settled into her stomach, this urgent feeling that something wasn’t quite right. Shaking it off, she nodded and headed for the door.

As they walked, Kathy muled over the events of that morning. “Why do you think he attacked me, Commander?” She asked, curious to Max’s thoughts on the matter. “Do you think he went insane?”
