She just couldn’t quite place who, as her attention was focused on the work at hand. : : : : : : : : Vortex : : : : : : Heather frowned, “hmmm well there was someone that kept walking past as I worked, but,” She frowned, “I’m sorry I do not recognize who it could have been I was too focused on the work I was doing,” She admitted with a frown. : : : : : : Heather Argeneau, Eng : : : : Si’Rek shrugged and then turned back to the Captain. “How do we proceed, Captain?” : : : : Si’Rek, XO/CE : : “Do we have security tapes in that sector? Anything that could give us a visual on what was going on during the Ensign’s time within the quarters?” : : Aihia “There should be considering it is the delegates and ambassador quarters, however, the Chief of Security would be the one to know for certain one way or the other.” Heather pointed out. Heather Argeneau“Contact the Chief of Security and ensure this fact. Once we have his response, we can look further into it.” Aihia had a commanding tone, if there were things to be done.. there was no need to sit idly.
AihiaOOC: Keeping “:::” for the sole reason, that it allows some distinguishing between character posts and how far back they were, even if they don’t show up.
Trin
OOC: nice now we have > though so it works out :P
IC: Heather listened turning to her own Chief for orders since she wasn’t sure if the contacting the Security chief was directed at herself or her Chief of Engineering.
Heather Argeneau, Eng.
OOC: So much better!
IC: Aihia gave, deliberately, no directory. She had intended the order for the first person that would be apt to doing so. However, noting the difference in rank, of the same department, between her comrades, she chose to make it specific. “Commander, I believe you would be best suited for that job. Ensign, are you comfortable with assisting the Security Chief, should he require it? You were the one with first contact, secondhand information from Si’Rek nor I, would be as specific.”
Captn. Aihia
“Aye captain, I can assist the Security Chief,” Heather said honestly.
Argeneau, Ens.
“Understood, Ensign.” A small smile then painted itself, albeit momentarily, across her features. “Thank you.”
Captn. Aihia
OOC: So how do I start that thread? just same way as any other thread?
IC: “Anytime Captain.” Heather said honestly and turned to leave her Captain and chief to finish their dinner and find the Security Chief.
Heather Argeneau, Ens
Si’Rek watched Heather leave and then turned to the Captain. “There is something happening here. And I don’t like it.” he said. His voice was low, and his eyes showed that he was not happy about any of this situation.
Si’Rek, XO / CE
“Something tells me, that we are going to have more issues than just a mere sabotage.” Aihia agreed, tapping the pads of her fingers silently upon the table. “I’m not one for superstition, however, why do you think this happened?”
“I need you to be on hyper-alert, Commander. If you find anything, and I mean anything, that appears odd, note it or tell me. With such valuable lives at stake, we need to be on our game, even more so than we already are, within our personal missions. Understood?”
OOC: Yep. Just Tag the CoS so when he comes back he sees it.
Captn. Aihia
CO“Of course, Captain. I would suggest a daily meeting between you and I to discuss any changes in our circumstances, as well. And I am going to run a full diagnostic on all systems. If there is anything that seems… out of spec… either I personally will investigate; or I will have Ens. Argeneau look at it. For now, I would suggest that we keep our knowledge of the modifications being made deliberately between the three of us and the Security Chief.”
Si’Rek, XO / CE
“Agreed, on all fronts. Let’s have our meetings here, that way it appears friendly and casual to the outside eye, which would also be better if we don’t have a consistent time. Despite this regarding the Admiral and his contingent, as you said, there is no reason to include anyone else.” She paused, eyeing the door. “If this continues, I suspect you and I will be having a lengthy conversation with our Admiral.”
Captn. Aihia
CO“Agreed, Captain.” and he moved to his desk. For a few moments he tapped on the interface, and the said “Done. Diagnostic running in the background on all systems. You and I are the only ones that can access the program, and it will run continuously until I stop it. It will send you and I a notification on any systems that appear at all out of my specification tolerances.”
Si’Rek, XO/CE
“Good,” Aihia rose to her feet. “Keeping our eye on all of this might offer up some answers, even indirectly.” She folded her arms over her chest, “Did the Admiral ever give a set number of days or weeks that we would be orbiting the planet for the negotiations between the contingent and the citizens of government upon it?” She inquired, uncertain if she had missed something.
Captn. Aihia
COSi’Rek nodded. “Yes, Ma’am. He said that the negotiations would take a week to ten days. The Marine contingent being dropped off is supposed to be there for… a month, I believe. I don’t remember him saying anything about us having to be there for that period, though. I believe we are just here for the duration of negotiations.”
Si’Rek, XO / CE
“Then I suppose we have seven to ten days to figure this mess out, don’t we, Commander?” She considered something, for a moment. “I assume the Marine contingent will be beaming over during the rondezvous, as it should be with our vessel. While not our prerogative, it would be best to observe the exchange to see if there is anything underlying about it, or something that might seem a bit off.” She remarked, “Unless you feel differently, Si’Rek?” She valued her XO’s opinion, often treating it just as an officer would their Captian’s, despite it being the other way around.
Captn. Aihia
COSi’Rek smiled slightly. “One cannot have too much data when considering an unknown, Ma’am. I think keeping a close eye on the exchange gives us at least the possibility of new information.”
Si’Rek, XO / CE
Ael chuckled, softly. “I suppose you are probably right,” She hummed, before falling back to a nature of neutrality. “That being said, I can only assume you have your own tasks to attend to. Thank you for..” She looked around the quarters, her following words facetious and airy, an oxymoron to her previous ones. “Allowing me in your humble abode.”
Captn. Aihia
CO
Si’Rek nodded and said “You are welcome any time, Captain.”
