OOC: Should I even bother with a medical check in at the moment?

IC: Having completed his other check-ins, Matt made his way to Engineering. When he arrived, he discreetly asked around for the Multirole CE.

Lt Wiseman, ACE

Ensign Frag looked at the Lieutenant and said “I think he may be in his office, Sir.” at which point the voice of the Chief Engineer could be heard from inside the office as the doors slid open. “I don’t care how long you think it will take, you get it done. And if I have to come down there and show you the proper way to handle it, I will not be happy. Do you understand me, Ensign?” and an obviously chagrined Bajoran hurried out of the office and ran down to another section of Engineering. The Ensign looked at Wiseman and said “Good luck, Sir. But he seems to be in a good mood today, so you might do ok.”

NE Frag, Department Morale Officer

OOC: LOL… I got confused as to how many days I had to post each post, but I have it now.

IC: “If things go south in there, even if its hilarious, please delete the records,” Matt replied, before walking toward the office and ringing the bell.

Lt Wiseman, ACE

Frag said “I’ve seen it go a lot of ways with the Chief… ‘hilarious’ hasn’t been one of them… Sir.”

As the chime sounded, a deep voice sounded from inside. “Enter.” it said in a flat voice. As the doors slid open, the blue and gray mottled skin of the Chief Engineer’s face looked up at the new arrival. “What do you need, Lieutenant?” he asked.

Si’Rek, XO / CE

“To report for duty, sir. However, if you don’t want me on your team, just say the word and I will request a transfer to another ship,” said the Lieutenant, immediately regretting the comment.

Lt Wiseman, ACE

Si’Rek looked blankly at the man and said simply “Then go ahead and make your request. I have neither the time nor the patience to deal with yet another drama-filled dead weight who thinks they are an Engineer.” and he looked back down at the PaDD he was reading.

Heather was looking over some paper work as she heard the CE talking to another Engineer. She knew how Si’Rek could be and decided she was going to continue on her own task rather then but heads with him again for his tone of voice.

Heather Argeneau, Eng.

OOC: Sorry for my absence of late. I would prefer not to go into what happened.

IC: “I apologize for my previous statement, Sir. My choice of words was… Unfortunate. Nonetheless, Demeaning your new Assistant Chief is hardly a good start, either.” Matt replied.

Lt Wiseman, ACE

OOC: No worries. Welcome back. Glad to have you.

IC: Si’Rek looked up slowly, his blue and gray mottled skin turning a slight green hue. He locked his eyes onto the new ACE. His words were clipped, and there was an easily discernible tone of irritation in his voice. “One. You set the tone for this conversation, Lieutenant, not me. I asked what you needed. You made some grand issue out of a simple question. Two. Anyone who wants to be my Assistant needs to do their homework before assuming they have that position on lock-down. Part of that homework would be to review the significant number pf personnel I have kicked out of this department because they thought their personal opinions and desires overrode the Engineering needs of this ship. Three. I didn’t request an ACE, so I had no idea that one was coming. That puts you in a precarious situation, which is getting worse by the minute. Four. You are fortunate that I am in a good mood. So I am going to do something I do not typically do to argumentative strangers arriving unannounced in my office. I am going to give you a single opportunity to fix the situation.” and he took a small pause and then said “I suggest you turn around, walk out of here, and take a breath. You might want to have a word with Ensign Argeneau. She held a leadership position in this department for a while. Perhaps when you have had a moment to compose yourself, we can try this again. Dismissed, Lieutenant.” Even though he stopped talking, he still held the Lieutenant in his gaze.

Si’Rek, XO / CE

Heather’s eyes went wide when she heard the ACE’s words and she turned and moved further away from the CE’s office so she could work on a console without being accused of ease dropping on them. She was in the middle of a routine low-level diagnostic when she heard her name and her head came up. However, the Atlantean was not sure she wanted any part of the trouble that just happened in that office. She knew Si’Rek all to well and you did not push him no matter how right you thought you were.

Heather Argeneau, Ens

“Yes, sir,” Matt said calmly, walking away. Despite his words, he couldn’t help but think to himself, And yelling at other subordinates like you did when I walked in isn’t setting a bad tone? One thing is for sure: I should’ve listened to the statistics on this one. With that, Matt received a call on his com badge, went to the door of Main engineering and left.

OOC: I will pick this up in a new thread in just a bit.

Lt. Wiseman, ACE

Si’Rek watched the man leave. As the door slid closed, he went back to his review.

Si’Rek, XO/ CE
