Gunnar nodded, he was pleased with how his crew responded, it wouldn’t take long to make them the most feared ship in the quadrant.

Shawe was down in Engineering, monitoring the warp drive, and the staff. Ensuring there were no more mistakes today. Though there was a log of him using one of the booths for a punishment, the details were provided in the report that came to the XO’s chair not long before he announced going to warp. It was also mentioned that it was necessary for something he was working on for the captain. When the order for warp came, he stood at his console and monitored. He didn’t want any of the other engineers to mess up like the tellarite did. He glared at him when the order came through and then monitored the warp drive as they entered warp.

Commander O’Dell stood by the Captain’s chair waiting for the ship to go into full warp wondering if Engineering would do their job or if the booth would be used sooner than later.

The Helmsman laid in the course and the ship jumped smoothly to warp The Communications officer spoke up “Captain the Admiral has sent us all the information on the colony as well as the system would you like me to bring it on screen?” she asked

O’Dell walked around the bridge and made sure all the stations were being manned properly.

Gunnar nodded “On screen, I also want a copy sent to my ready room” He said in his usual unemotional voice.

the information came up on screen first the Delmise system a Binary star system with 8 planets and a note on how Strategic the Delmise system was for the empire then a roster of the colonists Fleet Scientists and Medical personnel, A small Detachment of MACO’s were the security for the colony however the majority were civilians/Xeno Slaves for farming and mining The Colony had been founded 20 years ago in 2155 the colony population at last transmission was 3000 souls Originally starting with 1500 colonists then at some point getting an additional 1500 later plus or minus any births could be close to the 3500 range meaning this was a somewhat stable colony that suddenly vanished

being on a Class M Tropical rainforest world there were of course bound to be creatures which would go after the colonists being higher up the food chain, however, the Colony was surrounded with a shield dome, as well as large Phaser turrets to protect the colony from invasion as well as from whatever lurked in the bush as the main purpose for Delmise Colony was dedicated to mining Dilithium and the other rich mineral vanes then processing the materials into weapons and other useful materials for the Empire an extremely rich gold vein had been struck not long after the colony started which of course was being used in every way possible within the colony The main Colony location was actually built into and on the side of a tall mountain a large area to the North of the colony had been clear cut for Farming land though it was only enough to support the people of the colony to the West was another mountain that was Volcanic to the south a few miles away was a beach

The Northern Hemisphere of the planet had 4 large landmasses as this is where the bulk of the Volcanic activity took place with the planet was forming the Southern hemisphere had mostly a large ocean with a large number of Islands all Volcanic the mountain the colony was located on was close to the equator and at back of a lovely cove that was sheltered from large storms there were plans to expand the colony to the other landmasses and start using ocean-going cargo ships to move goods back and forth to the other colony locations however those plans were only in the early stages when the colony suddenly went dark there was no sign of anything wrong in the last transmission which had reported on the latest mining season and included a requisition for the usual supplies the colony could not make themselves however upon trying to confirm the order of supplies the colony had not responded and thus was listed as potentially lost

Gunnar read the information quickly then reread it for clarification. “Commander, prepare my ship” He said to his first officer “I want yellow alert as soon as we drop out of warp, weapons systems hot” He looked to his MACO Security Chief “Prepare your Vixens, we’ll probably need them” He looked back at his first officer “I want all stations battle-ready by the time we arrive” He timidly stroked the head of his axe, in his mind, he knew it could simply be a natural disaster that wiped out the colony but that would bore him. At least preparing for battle would keep his interest.

“Aye sir” came the reply from O’Dell.

Looking over at operations he said, “Prepare to go to yellow alert as we drop out of warp and the weapons had better be charged.”

Looking over at the communications officer he said, “Keep an ear out for any signs of enemy ships…if one slips by you will answer for it.”

For Abi a name on the MACO roster would stand out the leader of the MACO Detachment was a General Charles Grey he was tall 6’ 5” she had grey hair that was cut short but laying in a messy way he also had a thick mustache and his face had the many lines of age his eyes Squinted in the picture he was from the American southwest and it showed he could have pulled off an ancient cowboy look very easily he was the one that had found and trained Abigale Pushing her to be the best of the best but as with all things in the empire he was not soft on her

Captain Gunnar would also recognize him though more for some of the legends surrounding the man General Grey was one of the best Generals of all time Ruthless and efficient and was the general responsible for the Surrender of the Andorians after a five day Siege on their main city the Andorians had nicknamed him “Sejuk’th Makar” which meant One who Devourers naming General Grey after their greatest folk hero something extremely catastrophic must have happened if this man was failing to report in

Gunnar leaned forward ever so slightly in his seat. Although he had never met the man he knew his reputation quite well. he turned his head towards his MACO security Chief “Prepare the vixens” He said simply, the implication was clear. He was expecting serious danger.

Abi knew it was bad, If he hadn’t reported in. She felt a pit in her stomach but she had to push those feelings aside. She had a job to do “Yes. I’ll get the whole detachment ready” she said as she got up and headed off. She knew her order and she was going to make sure that no quarter was given only to those she wanted to talk to herself. And she would make them talk.

Learning over to the Captain Odell responded, “Sir, may I recommend we increase our readiness to red alert? Go in hot with our shields and weapons fully charged?”

As the discussions were made, Thomas listened quietly while keeping an eye on ship readiness and power levels. There was a possibility for combat, and Shawe was getting himself prepared for the dangers ahead.

O’Dell looked over at Thomas and said, “Lt. Shawe, I would like for you to make sure engineering is in top shape for this mission; if something from your end fails to function properly, I will hold YOU accountable and you know what the means!

NE Foreman the Helm Officer pipped up “Sirs It will take 2 days and 4 hours to arrive at the system in question

Gunnar nodded slowly “Let’s prepare ourselves in the meantime. Commander run a few drills then prepare a landing party, I want all department heads prepared to leave by the time we arrive.

OOC: Time for a time jump

Shawe nodded toward the captain and stood at attention, “then I’ll make sure of it myself, captain,” he grunted as he made his way to the turbolift. “Main Engineering,” he said. He walked straight to his office, grabbed an adapted phaser from his desk, and then said out loud. “No more slacking, time to work,” he said. “If anything goes wrong, everyone in this room will be dealt with accordingly. That means don’t mess up,” he said, glancing to toward the Tellarite. He waved the Vulcan who had suggested the Tellarite in the first place. “I want you to let me know the moment that Tellarite makes even the slightest mistake,” he ordered, keeping one eye on the Tellarite as he told her what to do.

OOC Sorry for the delay I have been working a lot now so it has been hard for me to post more often

It was a couple of days later, The Cerberus arrived in the Delmise system. Scans would show it had 8 Planets Delmise VIII was a Class Y, Delmise VII a Class J, Delmise VI a Class K planet, Delmise IV another Class K, then a Class N, followed by in close orbit with the binary suns were two Class B planets! Their Goal was Delmise V, Scans showed it was a Class M world, most of the landmass was located in the northern hemisphere. Below the Equator what land there was, consisted of Chains of Islands mostly all Volcanic! the whole world was in just the right orbit so that the climate of the whole planet was, in fact Tropical! there had been rumors of the colony turning also to Tourism, and making Delmise colony a Resort world to rival Risa! but first, the Cerberus was going to need to figure out what had happened to the colony, as soon as the ship entered the system the Helm officer NE Childers began bringing the ship to the planet and on course to take a standard orbit.

For the Science officer NE Kingston, an African American human in his early 30s, his scans showed a crazy amount of life on the planet! However, no human or other bio signs that would be the colonists, though something his scans did show that was odd was that the Colonial defense guns were now pointed in towards the colony! and the shield dome was down! he very quickly and dutifully reported this to the Captain then waited for further orders.

Commander O’Dell was in the center seat when the ship came out of warp. He saw the big system on the view screen and thought to himself that it was a great place to place a flag today.

“Helm, take us into standard orbit.”

Hitting a button on the command chair the communications system came online and the command said:

“Captain to the bridge please.”

Gunnar arrived on the Bridge within moments, his axe hanging on his side “Report Commander” He said as he sat down in his chair, bringing up relevant information thorugh his commands.

“We have arrived at the designation per our orders Captain and I told the helm to take us into a standard orbit” he replied.

Our mission parameters are as follows: Discover what happened to the Colony, reactivate the shields, regain control over the colonial defenses, and punish all those involved in this.” He stood up, his hand resting on his infamous handaxe “Phasers set to Kill”
