Ferl’lak was the Chief Science Officer on board and he at least had that going for him since there wasn’t much else. He would tolerate the humans and gets a piece of mind knowing he’ll not only out live them but their little brats as well. Maybe he could piss on their graves… he almost actually smiled at that. He pressed the chime to let the Captain know that he was here and on time.Ferl’lak CSO
“Enter” The voice behind the door said. Inside was a simple office, desk with two chairs for guests and a single behind, in which sat a man. He had dark hair that was starting to gray at the temples. His eyes were a dim icy blue and had a cold dead stare. The desk was simple, a computer terminal and a few PaDDs. On the right side was a small display which held an axe, small handheld weapon with beautiful carvings into the wooden handle and the steel itself was decorated as well.
The man looked up at the Vulcan “Lieutenant Fer’lak, welcome onboard” His cold tone of voice betrayed no obvious emotion.

Ferl’lak walked in and stood at attention. He dared not sit or do anything without being told for fear of punishment.
“Thank you Captain. Lieutenant Ferl’lak reporting as ordered sir.” His voice too stone cold but it was because he was a Vulcan and not racist

Gunnar indicated at the chairs on the other side of his desk “Have a seat Lieutenant” the Terran looked down at his console for a moment “I have your record here but I like for my senior officers to tell me their own stories, tell me about you career”
CO
“As you wish sir.” He took a seat and started counting his military record. The high achievements he earned in the Vulcan Science Academy.

Bump.
Gunnar nodded “It’s an impressive record, there are few Vulcans that share such a distinguished career, after the Rebellion losses all those years ago and the purges that followed. What is it you hope to achieve as Science Officer?” He asked.
CO
“Yes it is Captain. I am lucky to be where I am now. My reason is to not only make the Empire better but to make myself better at the same time. It is a win win for everyone. Also Captain if I may be so blunt. The more useful I am, the less likely I will be sold or discarded. Maybe even recieving the wooden sword from the Emperor like the gladiators from old and win my freedom.”
Ferl’lak CSO
Gunnar nodded “As long as you do your duty and prove yourself a loyal Imperial I can guarantee that before our tour is over that won’t be an issue.” He said calmly “The Black Guard only work with the best and those that do the best get their rightful rewards. Do you have any particular projects you’re working on at the moment?” He asked changing the subject swiftly
CO
“Thank you Captain. Yes. I am working on cloaking technology. Not for the ship itself but for its weapons. I am almost done with my self replicating mines. I will cloak them once finished. We set a bunch out and someone will blow through the. Causing a very big explosion and also creating more mines at the same time. Is that of interest to you sir?”
Ferl’lak CSO
Gunnar leaned in with clear interest “Indeed it is, hiding our weapons from our enemies is a potentially devastating tool and Self-replicating mines, well it seems more like science fiction. How does that function” Although his tone still had the same coldness his eyes showed some fire at last.
CO
“I am very glad to hear that my Captain. Although it is very hard to make, it is easy to explain it. There are thousands of tiny nanorobots in each mine that have the ability to make or replicate itself. When one blows up the remaining pieces and bots would remake the mine and therefore one mine can literarily be made into 10. There is a way to stop it of course and that is to use a electron pulse.”

Gunnar leaned back in his seat “I see, that would help against foes like the Romulans” He took a moment to consider the implications “I have my Chief engineer working on a possible portable version of our Agonizer chambers, do you believe that to be a feasible feat for our current technological level?” He asked.
CO
“Yes Captain.” HE said flatly. “But the Romulans will not be fooled twice. The have cloaking capabilities and might have a way to see them. I do not know for sure. But I do know that they will not decloak next to or near us again. That will give us valuable time.”
Fer’lak CSO
bump
Gunnar nodded “Good, good” He said after a moment “With ideas like this you will have a place on this ship. Get me a proof of concept and I assure you that your value to the Empire will increase by a great margin”
CO
He nodded. “Thank you Captain. I will go work on these right now and in one week I will be finished with enough for testing. If that is all Captain?”
Fer’lak, CSO
Gunnar nodded slowly “That sounds acceptable, I expect results. You’re dismissed.” He said coldly before turning his attention back to his console.
