It turned out, Nathan didn’t need to find them a job. The Syndicate contacted Noril first. That same day, that Noril had cried in Vash’s arms, Noril received a message. He was to find one Mevoullu, an Orion member of the Syndicate, who needed to be reminded what happened when one didn’t pay their dues. It wasn’t the sort of job Noril enjoyed, but her last known location was in the right direction to bring them closer to the Wolverine. So he was happy about that.
He entered the bridge, “Nathan, we’ve got a job. Syndicate. Somebody’s not paying their dues.” He sighed, he didn’t seem like himself, but he had to do what he needed to. “Last known location, Elowei.”
Elowei was a Federation colony, not a huge one, but not tiny, either, with an early 21st century feel. Because it was Federation, the Syndicate did not have a strong presence there. Which made it the perfect place for a target to hide out.
“Oneshe, man tactical. Eli, piloting.” He said. “Nathan, keep bridge command while I search our target. Vash…” He smiled at her, “Want to help me?”
~ N, Captain
“Aye” was all Eli said as hie moved into the pilot seat.
“You got it, boss,” Oneshe replied, taking his position.
“Eli, lay in a course for Elowei, warp 4,” Nathan sighed. He liked these missions as little as Noril did. “Oneshe, stay alert but keep weapons cold for now. Last thing we want is a jumpy Starfleet tactical officer noticing us near the colony.”
Nathan Murray
First MateVash was sitting near what was a basic science station. Mostly they used it fir sensor readings. None of them were really ‘into’ science. “Whatcha need, Cap?” She grinned. Vash didn’t like these jobs, but it didn’t bother her as much as it did everyone else. She grew up in the Syndicate and this was just the way it was. She didn’t learn better until she came to the Albatross.

Oneshe was already itching to go. Silently hoping that their target might put up a bit of a fight, so he could prove his value and strength. But he knew better than to try and provoke someone unless you stand a fighting chance. So he saw the wisdom in stay low profile for now.

Eli’s fingers danced across the console as he laid in the course, these missions were always a bit risky being in federation space changed the game a little. He hoped their target would see reason and they would be on their way, but it was unlikely. “Course laid in, engine is purring like a ragdour ” he noted
Elias “Eli” Trenor
Medic“Well then, engage, as they say,” Noril said. “I’m tracking our target’s movements, searching for fake IDs, anything else that’ll help us nail her down.” He told Vash.
~ N, Captain
“Aye” he voice a little somber, Eli hated times where he had to strong arm woman, it was not pleasant for him.
Vash nodded. What she began searching for media and police reports of suddenly rowdy behavior. Fist fights, arguments, men leaving work, or normal routines suddenly. “You should hack their medical database. Men with cases of sudden violence, short term amnesia without head injury, women with sudden onset extreme migraines. Oh, and see if anyone has requested phermone ssuppressants.” Orion women who could control their pheromones were rare and highly respected. They wouldn’t be running from Syndicate dues. Theirs were paid for them. They were treated as royalty. The only way to avoid incidents, was to suppress them if she was hiding

Eli looked over at his daughter, she could tell he was not going to enjoy the mission, once the ship popped into warp. “I’ll get us all set up with suppressants once we arrive with two spare does for each of us.” he noted

MedicFeeling his attention, Vash looked over at him and smiled. She wasn’t thrilled about the assignment, but she was far too happy after the last 24 hours to let it bother her. Instead she just winked at Eli.
Come to think of it looking around the Bridge it was quiet and apparent that no one wanted the mission. “So what’s the over under that the mark comes quietly.” Eli asked trying to make the target less of a person.
Elias “Eli” Trenor
Medic“None. No one runs from the Syndicate unless they have something greater than death to fear by returning,” Vash said.
“Doesn’t stop them from trying sometimes especially if they have help from feds.” the last word spat out his mouth with distain and disgust.
“Those who run to hide among the Federation are usually cowards,” Oneshe sneered,“Or survivors. The Syndicate is too powerful to oppose directly. Not everyone in their control are string fighters,” she commented.
“They regulate everything at those outposts, you can’t get away with nothing while you’re there. She probably doesn’t even have anything more than a multi-key on her.”

Vash agreed but for a different reason. To hide from the Syndicate she would have had to leave everything behind, especially electronic finger prints.

Eli looked at them, “someone want to watch the helm while i go get our cocktails ready.” he asked.
Elias “Eli” Trenor
Medic“Oh! I found something,” Vash sing-songed. It was a rough assignment, but she was incorrigible.
Then she spun around in her chair. “Oh! I wanna fly the ship!” Vash could pilot a shuttle quite well, but not an actual ship. It was sort of a running joke that they never let her. ‘There was never time to teach her.’ Of course there was, but the running gag amused her.
Vashkilu, Infiltrator
“Uh, no, sorry Vash,” Noril said. “She has something worse than death to fear alright…” He said. “Her crime against the Syndicate is one of betrayal.”
~ N, Captain
Vash threw him an all too alluring pout. “Aww, come on, just this once?” She looked at Eli and batted her lashes, “Pleeeease?”
Eli rolled his eyes at Vash, he gave her a serious look, “You know there is nothing much I would not do for you but allowing you to break the boat is not one of them” he responded with a little laugh.
“Hey! That’s not fair. I’ve never broken my shuttle by accident.”
“And no offense Vash, but I have a rule against teenage pilots in general.” Oneshe chimed in, feeling a bit of the camaraderie.
She turned with a very elegant and serious look. “Teenager?” Everyone else in the room suddenly knew there was trouble.
“Well she has certainly chosen an interesting and public way of ‘hiding’.” Vash tapped from her console. It was a news report from a few months ago asking for help identifying a Jane Doe. The image was of their target. According to the article she was in a coma and without identification. There was no follow up.
Vashkilu, Infiltrator
Eli scratched his head, if she really has memory lost she is not going to know why we came. “That’s” he looked down.. “Sad” he said, now more then ever he wanted to projector not send her back.
Elias “Eli” Trenor
Medic“It is sad if it’s true.” Vash wasn’t sure what the Syndicate would demand then. Betrayal? They wouldn’t let it go.
“Well, it certainly makes our job easier, right?” Oneshe said, keenly aware of how that fact just brought down the mood,
“I mean, our orders are to just get the dues, right? They’re not asking us anything more than that.”
He hoped that was true. Not liking the idea of having to shakedown an injured woman. He still had a sense of honor, after all. There was nothing to prove if the opposition was defenseless.

“Cap said the crime was Betrayal. It will take more than latinum to fix that.” Everyone knew it, and it was better Oneshe was aware of that now.
Vashkilu, Infiltrator
Eli looked at vash, then a the controls in front of him. He really hated his job sometimes. Deciding things were now getting too heavy for him on the bridge, he engaged the auto pilot and stood up and stretched.
Elias “Eli” Trenor
MedicVash watched. She knew he was having a hard time. They all were. Maybe there was a way around it? They could hope. If it came down to this woman’s life or theirs, it was an easy choice for Vash.
She gave Eli a disgruntled look. “You locked the pilot controls didn’t you?” and she pouted playing into the joke.
Vashkilu, Infiltrator
He reached back and gave her a little pat on the head, “I might be big, but i’m not dumb” he said “Maybe you should take me up on lessons next time rather than going shopping ” He musted her head like she had a full stack of hair.
Elias “Eli” Trenor
MedicVash gave him a stink face. “Uh huh, and then you would be nowhere to be found when it was time.” She sighed as he mussed her scalp. “Good thing I don’t have hair. Otherwise I’d be fixing it all the time because of you.”
Vashkilu, Infiltrator
“Yeah,” Oneshe said, clearing his throat,
“I was wondering about that, why don’t you?”
He was prepared for either or casual answer or some kind of indication if the question crossed a line.

Noril let out a tiny snort. “Might as well ask a woman her age while you’re at it.”
~ N, Captain
Whatever mischief Vash was planning was stalled as Noril spoke. She turned a look on him. “Glad you finally noticed that fact, Noril.”
She turned to Oneshe, “I’m half Deltan.”
Vashkilu, Infiltrator
Noril flushed and shrugged. “Come on, Vash, am I really that bad?”
~ N, Captain
Vash laughed quietly leaving her answer up for interpretation.
“Oh,” he said, at first rather casually, before his ears perked straight up and eyes grew wide.
“Ooooh,” he repeated, this time drawn out with a heavy sense of realization.
Vash grinned and looked over at Oneshe giving him a slow up and down, “Yeah… oooh,” then she winked and turned back to the computer.
Oneshe just snorted and rolled his eyes. Unbothered by the teasing. When you have seven siblings you get used to it.
Eli stopped as hew as on his way out, he did not turn around, he looked over his shoulder at the captain. ‘You and I need to have a chat when we get back’ he thought and then worked his way out of the room. He did not want to say anything out loud and embarrass Vash.
Elias “Eli” Trenor
Medic“That all said, we do have some freedom in how we go about this,” Nathan mused regarding the mission. “Vash, how do you feel about cracking open a few government databases? Let’s see if we can figure out if they know more about her than the public was told.”
Nathan Murray
First Mate / Weapons“Sure, I’m not as good as it as Noril,” and Sisnil, “but with the programs we have, I can manage.” She spun her chair back around and began pulling up the different programs Noril had created for such purposes.
Vashkilu, Infiltrator
“You think she might have tried going to the Federation for protection?” Oneshe asked.
| Uukemel, The Muscle|
Eli walked on the bridge almost hitting his head like normal. “We are all set captain” he said, looking at Vash and the rest of the crew.
Elias “Eli” Trenor
MedicVash felt his stare. “What? I didn’t touch the controls. I didn’t even get up from my seat,” she protested.
Vashkilu, Infiltrator
Eli looked at her, sitting back in his seat. “Maybe not, but you were thinking about it” he said smirking.
“Two minutes Captain” he said. “Want to go in to port or sneak?” he asked
Elias “Eli” Trenor
Medic“Well, do we have a story ready?” Oneshe asked, swiveling around in his chair,
“If we let the Feds know we are here in their space we have to tell them a story. Otherwise they’ll be suspicious.Know we are up to something they might not approve of. It needs to be convincing too.”
| Uukemel, The Muscle|
“We need a story even if we do sneak in just in case,” Vash said looking away from the hacking program she was running. “OH!” she said suddenly with a grin. “We could say she’s my sister. We got seperated when we ran away, and I saw her face on the old news clip. I’ve come looking for her. If she’s really lost her memory, she won’t know it’s not true.”
Vashkilu, Infiltrator
Eli looked at here with pride, she was a smart woman.. “That should work, and Noril here should be able to help with that too” he said looking at the screen.. “One minute” he said.
