It was shortly after settling in. Oneshe didn’t feel overly confident about the arrangement yet. He accepted that this crew at least appeared to mean him no harm. But didn’t quite feel like he had run of the ship either. He felt more like a passenger, not confident straying into areas that seemed to be more for crew.

He peered from the doorway into the infirmary. Seeing Eli, however, he shrunk back around the corner. Oneshe knew he had no business entering and just taking what he needed with the medic on duty.

But, he needed it. In less than a day the pain was already back.

He turned back into the doorway, and let out a small cough. Enough to gauge if Eli was in a position to react.

Eli stood reviewing the newcomer’s information, he wondered how long this one would last. This was a tight crew, family really, and it was hard for the new crew to find their bearing. “What can I do for you,” he asked as he turned around a giant warm smile on his face. “What can I do with you, my friend?” he asked.

Oneshe brought himself into full view. His left ear twitched erratically, which was unusual. It meant he was nervous.

“Mr. Eli,” he said, crossing his arms to feign more confidence, “I’m just showing myself around is all…”

He wasn’t used to lying and it was obvious. Ekarians usually aren’t. He glanced around the room at all the medical cabinets and equipment. Figuring he’d have to come back later, when Eli wasn’t around.

Eli turned around, “Well she’s not much to look at she’s mine, ” he said, “Don’t be afraid to wake me up, if you have needs” he said moving to unlock one of the cabinets, he put himself between him and the code. Eli’s trust took some time to earn. He placed some drugs in the cabinet and sealed it up. “Finding your way around alright he asked turning around and leaning on the counter.

“Yes, I suppose.” he replied, “Settled in okay. Just sort of waiting around for my orders.”

His ear twitched again.

“I had a few things at my old place that seem to have gotten lost. Just some medication I’ve been taking. I was wondering if you had anything like it?”
