“Now listend, this is not about being tough ok? the second you feel something let me know please or I might have to start over.” he said searching her eyes for understanding. “We get this right and maybe your good by tomorrow ok?”

Elias “Eli” Trenor
Medic

“Okay.” It was easier to form the words but she felt it more. It didn’t exactly hurt, but was I physically difficult now. She waited while he made adjustments and the moment she felt pain she blinked, batting her lashes at him. Mischief dancing in her eyes.

Vashkilu, Infiltrator

He looked at her, her eyes were stunning, it was almost like they called out to you beconing you to come closer. she is trouble he throught as he shook his head attempting to clear his mind. He reached into the drawer and pulled out a hypo and redosed his inhibitor. “Need to stay focused I think” he said giving her a look that suggested he thought she was being naughty.

She gave him a curious look, but when he used the hypo, she understood. “Sorry,” she rasped. It hurt to talk now, but she could form words easier.

he placed a small miror from his bag near the bottomof her throat on top of her collarbone so he could keep watch on her eyes. “Here we go he said starting the next third treatment”. This was going to be a longer today the surgery would last about two hours, about thirty minutes in he stopped and looked at her directly. “How are you holding up, need some water?” he asked?

Elias “Eli” Trenor
Medic

It was rough. She would rather be asleep. Oh there was no pain now, but she could feel pressure and movement as he worked. She nodded, “please.”

Vashkilu, Infiltrator

“me too little bird, ” he said as moved to get her a fresh glass of water, he eyed the flask but thought about it only a moment. He needed to be focused and that was not going to help. He handed her the glass and then drank is own as well.

Once she had finished he smiled and went back to work it went on like this for another hour and a half, pausing for drinks but in the end they were able to complete the work. “Rest now” he said “I’ll wake you in a couple hours to get some more food in you” he noted and then he sat down, set the bed alarm and leaned back closing his eyes for a moment.

Elias “Eli” Trenor

Vash was exhausted. Truly and utterly wiped out. Her medical treatments had never lasted this long in one go. Other than simply being worn out and sore, nothing horrible seemed to be happening. Or maybe the pull to darkness was not a good thing? Whatever reserves she had gained were gone now. She didn’t even roll over to get comfortable before her eyes glued themselves shut. She slept heavily lost to utter unconscious blissfulness until Eli woke her.

Vashkilu, Infiltrator

Vash woke to the smell of some sort of meetpaste pie, despites its simple look it smelled decent. There was so mort of protien shake sitting there as well as water. Eli was busy looking through some computer data around deltan’s and orions but there was nothing he could find on hybrids. “And how did the little dream dancer sleep?” he asked over his shoulder. From what he could tell the surgery had taken a lot out of here. He took a nip of his flask.

Elias “Eli” Trenor
Medic

She woke slowly. She felt weak and small. A feeling she wasn’t used to, nor did she like. She pushed herself up to sit, carefully, and reached for the water. She drank it all. Her throat hurt more today with the inhibitor lowered, but it wasn’t unbearable, and it was easier to swallow. “You use the most unusual names.” Her voice was quiet and a bit rough, but there was also something ethereal about it. She grinned hugely at getting a whole sentence out.

Vashkilu, Infiltrator

Eli’s cheeks turned three shades or red as he had not realized he had beend addressing her, like he used to address his sister. He was not sure he wanted to share that part with her, but he could not really explain it. His back was turned so she could not see his face but could hear the embaressment in his voice. “its,” he said with a pause. “Somehting my people do” he said trying to avoid the topic. “Found your voice I hear” it was scary how alluring it was even without the enhancements, it’s like she trained it to do that he thought.

Elias “Eli” Trenor
Medic

She smiled and nodded happily. It made her look like the teenager she was. “I don’t mind,” she said about the names. “My father calls me his delicate flower. Something to be kept in a hot house and looked at when one is bored and cared for by others.” She coughed after that and reached for the water she had finished. She took the shake instead and drank some.

Eli couldn’t miss the slightly bitter tone in her voice as she spoke of her father.

Vashkilu, Infiltrator

Eli did not want to insult her father or her, but it just came out of him as truth often did. “If I had a daughter she would get tired of me, I would be hugging and going on adventures with her” he trailed off sadness griping him again as he realized that was never going to happen. Losing another family terified him. So there was little chance of him having a family of his own again.

” Made you Pirates Pie hope you like it” he noted

Elias “Eli” Trenor
Medic

She placed the shake back on the table and picked up the pie and set it in her lap. “Orion families aren’t like that, and I don’t know about Deltan ones.” What he said didn’t offend her. It made her a little wishful, but that was foolishness.

She took a bite, and studied the flavors on her tongue. “It is different. Is this something you like? I am supposed to cook here… well I think here.” She coughed again, and picked up the drink. Not so much talking yet.

Vashkilu, Infiltrator

The talking was likely uncomfortable at this point but it needed to happen the more she used her voice the faster it would heal. The last treatement tomorrow should allow them to take out the bridge. “Hm its decent ship swill,” he noted “But i’m guessing that you have much better cooking if we can get you the right ingredients”. He looked at her for a moment longer. “So tell me what’s this arrangement you go going on with the super twins?” he asked woundering what they had been doing the past day and a half.

Elias “Eli” Trenor
Medic

She carefully finished her bite. So the twins were here. She was disappointed Noril, at least, hadn’t come to check on her. So much for taking care of crew… well she probably took that to mean more than it did.

“My father gifted me to them for an exceptional favor they did him. It is the typical arrangement. I belong to them until I have enough money to buy my release. I will perform whatever duties they wish. They have assigned me to cook.”

Vashkilu, Infiltrator

Eli had suspected there was some sort of arrangement going on but she was a child. His face grew red but this time not out of embaresment. No this was somethings else and “Darkness” did not do it justice, she could see that he was ready to kill. Eli he imediatly started running through escape scenarios, none of them would work, the brain buster twins were likely allready sensing his rage. If they did some how get away, then they would have the syndicate to deal with and her father, a dept was a dept. He would not be able to kill them before the nutralized his mind. He pulled up his ledger, he had no idea how big it was, but he was for the lack of a better word very comfortable. He spent most of his time, drinking and thinking which was a lot but not enough to put a dent in the money he made doing the work he did. Only seconds had gone by. “What do you mean, duties?”

Elias “Eli” Trenor
Medic

Vash sensed the rage and the focused methodical pulse underneath. “They were mad too. So strange.” She mused before taking another drink. She shrugged at his question. “You know, they give orders and I obey. I am trained in business, fighting, negotiations, piloting. I am a fully trained courtesean. I was top of my school,” she said with pride. “But my mixed heritage means no one will make my father an offer for me.” She lifted a dainty shoulder. “I cook, sing, dance, fight, provide acupressure, I play several instruments.” She paused again rubbing her throat gently.

Vashkilu, Infiltrator

Eli calmed a little, she was obviously brainwashed, but she seemed so proud of being trained to be someone elses toy. His mind settled some as well. “You sound like you like being a slave? ” he questioned. He had hated it, someone always controling everything you did, your thoughts were dangerious because of people like the twins. It was hell for him and his sister.

Elias “Eli” Trenor
Medic

Vash snorted and rolled her eyes. “No. But my father is rich and at times will indulge me. I took what training I could. I will buy my freedom eventually, and I will have the skills to keep myself fed and safe.” She shrugged. “Perhaps they are not the skills I would prefer, but they are useful. It is the Orion way. And no one is offering to take me away. This is better than being taken and beaten by a man who only wants my father’s empire.”

Vashkilu, Infiltrator

Eli resigned to what she said, it made sense even if he did not like it. All the while wondering what her actuall freedom would cost. Could he even buy her freedom or was that something she had to do on her own. “How much does it cost to set you free” he asked plainly, Eli was not one for word games. He had assets worth a lot of money, his good friend and fixer took care of hiding it in plain site. It was not something he talked about, flashing it around as not wise.

Elias “Eli” Trenor
Medic

She tipped her head to the side, thinking. “From my father, it would be a hefty sum to convince him. 1000 bars of latinum. Then the Syndicate must be paid. They value me very little despite my training, but they are greedy 800 bars. The twins, I do not know. I have not discussed what they will want. The typical starting price is 400 slips for an average slave. I am not average. But I am a half breed.”

Vash rubbed her neck again, wincing, but not saying anything. “I am sure I have already cost them too much. I will have to repay the cost first.”

Vashkilu, Infiltrator

Eli ran some rough math in his head, he could probably come up with the money, but something told him that it was not as simple as comming up with the money. For the time he was calm though not overly happy. “Well seems like your voice is doing a little better, is there anyhting else you would like to ask?”

Elias “Eli” Trenor
Medic

She rubbed her neck again and shrugged. “Sore,” Vash admitted before picking up the drink again. “It’s easier to… get the words out now.” She looked around, “Where are we?”

Vashkilu, Infiltrator

He looked around, “I think we are on the twins’ ship?” he said not fully sure who it belonged too, “They tracked me down at my favorite place to relax, said they had a crew member that needed help, so here I am” he said looking at her. “Lucky they did too, few more hours like you were and I doubt you would be talking at all. Who ever worked on you did a really bad job” he noted

Elias “Eli” Trenor
Medic

They brought a doctor here, for her. Vash wasn’t sure what to make of that. It must have cost them quite a bit. She didn’t like starting somewhere new in debt. Oh well. She had a but saved.

His comment brought her eyes locking in his. “What was wrong with me?” She nodded to his other comment. “I am not surprised. My father’s medical staff do not care to care for me. Because normal Orion medicine does not work on me, they don’t treat me.”

Vashkilu, Infiltrator

Eli looked at her for a moment. “Well, when I go here, crushed windpipe aside, it looked like someone tryied to saute you and eat you.” he half chuckled “you were cooking on the inside and out from over exposure to UV’s” he said “Your two sides were trying to kill eachother, would have succedded had they not gotten you help when they did” he took her some more water, “Not much to worry about now I don’t think your doing well, throat should be healed up by tommorrow evening, your blood lookes good but given what you said I want to watch it close for a few days.”

Elias “Eli” Trenor
Medic

She nodded, her face scrunched up as she thought over his words. She took the cup and rank the water. More slowly this time. Her throat was starting to hurt from all use. “Need,” she drank more trying to clear her throat without coughing, “light. Too much burns.”

“Yeah almost looked like a desperate attempted to do something.” he noted.

She took one more bite of the pie, wincing as she swallowed. She set it aside. “Stardate?” She remembered being sick. Like the flu, and Noril taking her outside. She didn’t remember anything until waking up here. How long had she been unconscious?

Vashkilu, Infiltrator

Eli moved the pie to the side, as he told her the stardate, “From what the lady told me, err Hawk, I think was her name, you have been gone from home a week?” he said not fully sure.

“More,” she said. Not much more, but still more. She didn’t know who Hawk was, but some part of the crew? So long. WHT had she gotten sick?

“Speaking of light” he said reaching into the drawer and pulling out the jelly. “Time for some light” he said. “Front or Back?” he asked. “We can give those vocal cords a half hour break” he noted

Elias “Eli” Trenor
Medic

“Back.” Vash reached behind her neck and undid the closure as she turned and carefully laid down on her stomach. She made sure the gown stayed in place. She wasn’t shy, but she noticed that these people had a high level of modesty.

Vashkilu, Infiltrator

Eli was thankfull that she took her time and did not just roll over exposing her self like he expected and Orion to do, they were not a modest people. He started rubbing the Jelly on her back, it was cool but not cold, Elis strong well callused hands almost covered half her back as he worked the jelly into the muscle a bit.

“I’m not entirely sure why you got the way you were when they brought me too you” he continued. “From what I can tell, in trying to cure the damage, the methods used did not suit your physilogy sending into a downward spiral” he said applying the jelly into her shoulders neck and head. “Probably the same problem I had initially, giving you standard IV with electorlites sent your body shock.”

Elias “Eli” Trenor
Medic

“Father’s doctor. Never tried. Told me two weeks to fix my throat. No food, water, talk.” She cleared her throat and winced. “Said to sit in sun for food.” She paused to swallow. “Don’t care that I need food like a Deltan.” She wasn’t sure why she was telling him this. It was just her life. “Never tried,” she said again.

Vashkilu, Infiltrator

His hands worked down across her lower back to her left leg continuing to work in the gel. she was actually getting a pretty decent deep tissue message out of the deal. “Well that’s just irresponsible” he noted. “Not to wory, your in my care now, you’ll be good as new before you can blink” he said “I don’t know if I should ask this but why would your father send you to a bunch of brainless twitts, it sounds like he’s well off.” he asked. She could tell he was frustrated with the lack of empathy afforded her.

Elias “Eli” Trenor
Medic

“They are good.” She sighed. “Father is traditional cough ist. I am half Orion, I can never be… anything. I am less and he won’t punish the doctors for their… dismissal. I am like a favorite dog. That is only way he can love me.”

Vashkilu, Infiltrator

Elis hand gripped a little tight on her calf. “I don’t like it, ” he mumbled something about her not being anyones dog while he was around. He finished her other leg with out saying much other than. “Ready for some rays sunshine?” he asked her a smile returning to his face.

Elias “Eli” Trenor
Medic

She smirked. He was strange. He and the twins. Worrying over what was normal. She didn’t like it, but it was the Orion way. The only way to get free was to do whatever she had to, to pay her price. “Yes.”

The light was warm and sift with the gel. It relaxed her and pulled her toward sleep. Her mind whirled around the conversation. Before she drifted off she mumbled something that might have been that her father allowed her to be hurt.

Vashkilu, Infiltrator

Eli leaned back in his chair he would have to do a full physical tomorrow looking for old wounds. He certianly was not liking her father if it was right to even use the word. Eli held his child in his arms for only a month before she was taken, he could not even process harming her. He took a hard pull on his flask and in a few minutes fell asleep.

Elias “Eli” Trenor
Medic

Vash woke suddenly a while later. She had a need that had to be attended to, immediately. She slowly rolled over, the gown getting caught and twisted. It was annoying. She almost ripped it off, until her eyes settled on the sleeping form of her doctor and would be protector. She’d have to leave it on. She had a feeling it would mortify him. She pushed herself to sitting and looked around. Where was the bathroom? Was there even one in this space. She hated to wake him, he actually seemed peaceful in his sleep for the moment.

Vash determined she could do this on her own. She started to slide off the bed, but remembered he’d set an alarm on it. She rolled her eyes, annoyed. She couldn’t reach the control without getting up and setting it off. Stupid. Well she would have to wake him. “Elias.”

Vashkilu, Infiltrator

Eli was wrapped in dream land when her voice cut through, what he had been dreaming was unclear but his response suggested that he had been dreaming about a former life. “What Alana I’m sleeping?” he asked his eyes still closed and his breathing suggesting that he was still mostly asleep.

Elias “Eli” Trenor
Medic

Vash sighed. She could almost be annoyed. She was spoiled, as much as her father would allow, but something about the way he said the name made her pause. Sister or wife? She was reluctant to wake him. Maybe… maybe if she stretched fat enough she could reach the control for the bed, and then sneak to the bathroom and back while he slept.

This ki d of compassion could get her killed, so she told herself it was to gather information. She scooted to the edge of the bed and stretched across to the controls… almost. She wiggled her fingers and stretched a bit further. Her muscles shook from lack of use and illness. Just a bit more… and stopped off the side of the bed.

Vashkilu, Infiltrator

As her weight left the bed, a high-pitched steady alarm sounded. Eli’s lets kicked in the air narrowly missing Vash who had landed on the floor in front of him. “What the” he yelled looking around the room and then noticed her sitting on the floor. He was down next to her before another second passed his hands searching her for injury. “Are you ok he asked?” has he continued to search the alarm still wailing away.

Elias “Eli” Trenor
Medic

She knocked the wind out of herself a but and jarred her exhausted body, but otherwise she thought she was okay. She’d probably bruise but… oh well. “Yes. Lost my balance.”

Vashkilu, Infiltrator

Eli gave her a skeptical look, reached he picked her back up and sat her on the bed. he then killed the alrarm. “Sorry, I don’t think we need that anymore.” he noted

Elias “Eli” Trenor
Medic

Her face relaxed as the noise finally stopped after her set her on the biobed. Vash was too well trained to squirm like a toddler, but she had to get up. “Thank you.” She set her palms against his arms and then slid herself right back off the bed.

Vashkilu, Infiltrator

“Going somewhere?” he asked stepping back so she could move. It was good if she could stay on her feet this time he kept a close eye on her.

Elias “Eli” Trenor
Medic

She looked up and up at him. “The facilities,” she said raising a brow. Totally unashamed. “You pumped me full of fluid.” She looked around, still trying to figure out where it was.

Vashkilu, Infiltrator

Eli let out a loud laugh. “Out the door, first door on your left” he had not realized that he had not helped her to the bathroom, he was impressed that she had not already had an accident, stepping aside still laughing he motioned her on.

Elias “Eli” Trenor
Medic

Vash nodded and glared up at him for laughing. “If I felt better…” she threatened. Using the bed to steady herself, she began walking toward the door. The gown was completely open in the back, and without the blanket and towel, she was bare. She didn’t notice, and if she had, she wouldn’t have cared.

He overted his eyes quickly, but Eli caught him self glancing at her as she walked away and then turned beat red, it was not fair that her figure was that of a full grown woman.

It was a very slow walk, but she did it by herself. Her balance was okay once she got going, but lords she was weak. She stayed in the bathroom for awhile, just because she was tired and didn’t want to get up again. But now that she was allowed to get up, she wasn’t going to ask for help again.

Vash made her way back into the medical bay. She was itching to explore and find the twins. There were expectations to discuss. She also didn’t want to be seen as a burden or costly. However, Elias was the only person, and the medical bay the only place, she had a reference for. She doubted she would make it far on a walk on her own. She made her way, just as slowly back to the bed and managed to haul herself up without help. She was ready for a nap though.

Vashkilu, Infiltrator

Eli was about to go check on her when she staggered back into the room, she was week but managed to get her self back into the bed. “Better than yesterday” he noted out loud. “You’ll be up cooking me dinner in no time” he noted

Elias “Eli” Trenor
Medic

Her face lit up despite being so tired. “What do you like to eat?” She was excited. It was easy to tell that she enjoyed cooking. “I will make it for you.”

Vashkilu, Infiltrator

Eli smiled. “When you are better, you suprise me, you have experienced my delicate pallet over the past few days.” he chuckled. “I’m guessing you’ll come up with my new favorite every day”

Elias “Eli” Trenor
Medic

She laughed softly and then had to clear her throat. “A challenge. I accept.” She put her head back on the pillow her eyes drifting shut. Except she was thirsty and hungry. She couldn’t decide which she wanted more. Her eyes fluttered open, landing on him. “May I have water?”

Vashkilu, Infiltrator

“Sure” he said getting her another glass. “Hungry?” he asked her looking over he stats. Other than then being week and tired which he expected she was doing prety well, after she ate they could get her some more light which may help her energy levels.

Elias “Eli” Trenor
Medic

Vash nodded. “Famished.” She pushed up to sit and took the glass, drinking carefully, but the whole glass. “Where are the super twins?” she asked suddenly.

Vashkilu, Infiltrator

She was so young but she was likely more mature in ways than younger woman, Orion’s had to grow up fast from what he knew. He really did not want to think about it.
He looked at her, “I have no clue where they are, ” he noted, “Though I’m going to have to have a talk with them about leaving you with a drunk killer, unattended” he said with a wink.

“I’ll get you some more pie and a shake should give you a bump” he said

Elias “Eli” Trenor
Medic

Her head tipped to the side. “You think they aren’t watching?” She lifted a delicate shoulder as if it didn’t matter. “If they aren’t, maybe you should ditch this ship.” She nodded vigorously about the food. She wanted to with him, but decided not to push her luck.

Vashkilu, Infiltrator

Noril entered with an apologetic look. “Of course we were. Listening to your minds.” He commented. “There was a small emergency to deal with. How are you doing?” He asked Vash, smiling.

~ N, Captain

Did her face light up? Maybe, but she was so composed it was hard to tell. “I am much better. Elias has taken good care of me.” Her voice was not like before. There was that ethereal quality but lacked the musical tone. It was raspy and tired. She had so many questions and she fought the urge to reach out and touch him so she could share her empathy with him.

Vashkilu, Infiltrator

Eli looked at him then her, she was obviously happy to see him. “I was just getting her something to eat” he said, “You hungry?” he asked Noril moving towards the door, he swiftly picked up his flask and put it in his pocket.

Elias “Eli” Trenor
Medic

“Yeah.” He gave him directions to their food storage. The crew cooked for themselves, there was no replicator. “And drop. The flask.” He said, turning to look at Eli.

~ N, Captain

Vash grinned and got this irresistibly mischievous look on her face. “He’s afraid I’ll steal it again. He’s making sure to keep it away from me.”

Vashkilu, Infiltrator

Noril gave her a playfully dirty look. “You’re too young to drink.”
