Dense smoked filled the Dead Grifters bar, a small dive on Nimbus three. Smoke and conversation circled the air in a mist surrounded by dim lights and shady characters making deals in the dark corners of the room.

Sitting at the bar a large heap of a man, in a brown hide jacket sat stirring a drink. He stared of in the distance as if looking into oblivion itself. Thoughts of his dead family and anger at the federation for it swelled internally within him a storm that could only be stopped by alcohol and killing. No one sat next to the man on either side of him, despite the how busy the bar was. It was clear that this was the man that had been referred to them.
A moment later a human man walked up to him and leaded at the bar, he looked angry and pushed Eli’s shoulder. “You took my quarry Eli, I want the bounty” he said placing his hand on Eli’s shoulder

Eli’s eyes widened a little, Eli stood, his Six-foot four frame towered over the man. “We can com o an arrangement, Jana’s no need to get all” his speech broke as his hand reached the man’s neck. In a moment the mans head found the bar several times and fell limp on the floor.
Eli slid some lattinum across the bar, “Sorry” he noted in a heavy slur. Two bouncers were already dragging the man out.

Eli sat back down and downed his drink and tapped it upside down indicating he wanted another. It came quickly.

Hawk was sitting by a window watching. Yeah that had to be the man. She grabbed her comm, [O]Found ‘im Cap. Big, burly, and drunk as an Andorian on 10 bottles of whisky in 2 minutes.[C]

Vashkilu, Infiltrator

A moment later, Sisnil beamed down. “Well, that’s useful, isn’t it?” He said to Hawk.

Sisnil was small, he was 5‘1’‘, and not burly, so when he sat down next to Eli, the size difference between the two was comical. He elbowed Eli gently. “Haven’t you had quite enough there?”

~ N, Captain

Eli looked up from his glass, turing his head to look at who just elbowed him he stoped for a moment before looking down. He let out a long sigh, turned back to his drink. “Leave me be boy!” he growled lightly under his breath. “unless you paying” he added.

Elias “Eli” Trenor

“I don’t pay for people to throw their life away,” Sisnil said with a shrug. He was playing with fire, but that was how he worked.

~ N, Captain

Eli looked down at the bar and the large blood stained dent in it. “I can function just fine” his words cam out slured. “If the pay is good I can set the drink down, what do you want?” there was a measure of sadness that could almost be tasted.

Elias “Eli” Trenor
Medic

“Mm.” Sisnil replied disbelievingly. “You’re a medic, no? Ever helped an Orion?”

~ N, Captain

Eli spun his glass once in his hand, “I’ve helped them” he said briefly. “Some medically, some well requireing medical” he looked down a Sisnil , his self loathing seeping out of him worse than the wisky. “Enough money and i’ll help what ever way you want”.

Elias “Eli” Trenor
Medic

Half the Syndicate had enough self loathing to fuel known space. Sisnil at this point in time, did not really care. “I have a ship.” He mused, grinning mischievously. “How about this: ditch the cruddy bar, come with me. You’ll get equal share of all my jobs.”

~ N, Captain

Eli looked at him for a long moment, looked around the bar. “And how much is an equal share normaly?” he said raising his eyebrows a little. “Share nothing is still nothing” he said tossing back his drink, set it down and tapped the rim for the bartender to fill it up.

Elias “Eli” Trenor

Sisnil snatched the cup with a swift and graceful movement. “Depends on the jobs. What’re making here, drinking this garbage till you die?”

~ N, Captain

Eli looked at him, his eyes narrowed, then rolled. “Why did you ask about the Orions” he said as he looked over at hawk, “Your lady friend is not green”.
Elias “Eli” Trenor

Hawk still sat at the far table only watching to make sure the Cap didn’t need help. At the moment she was on the comm. [O]I don’t know Noril. He’s too drunk to help anyone I think. Well ask him like you usually do. You know, in that special way you have.” She snorted, “I’m not playin’ go between.[C]

A moment later Sisnil’s comm crackled to life. [O]Sisnil is he coming or not. She needs help![C]

Vashkilu, Infiltrator

“Never said I was asking for her,” Sisnil said. He looked slightly annoyed and was quiet for a moment. “My crew mate needs help. My other crew mate.”

~ N, Captain

Eli blinked a second or two, the urgency in the callers voice suggested that someone was in bad shape. His pushed his wiskey aside and started walking toward hawk, “Comming? Sounds like talk time is over!” he said walking rather straight for a man who had comsumed so much.

Elias “Eli” Trenor
Medic

Sisnil stood and followed him. “My brother Noril and your newest patient are aboard my ship. Ready to beam?”

~ N, Captain

Eli grunted, “I was hoping you were in port, beam away but I might throw-up when I get there.” he noted

Elias “Eli” Trenor

“No worries. I’ll just get the tab, Cap’n!” Hawk called out, sounding totally disgruntled like a wizened old aunt who was always cleaning up kids’ messes. Hawk didn’t mind though, Sisnil and Noril would reimburse her no problem. She flipped open the comm [O]Yeah he’s comin, Noril. Try to stay out the way. You’re really worrying me with how your carryin’ on over this girl.[C] she closed the comm before Noril could retort. Hawk made her way tot he bar and paid the tab after ordering herself a drink.

Vashkilu, Infiltrator

Eli had been drinking top shelf, and six tublers at that, the bill was for lack of a better word high.

Elias “Eli” Trenor
Medic

Hawk rolled her eyes, of course he did. Well if he was a fourth as good as the rumors, he earned the money for the top shelf swill.

Getting the comm signal from Sisnil, soon he and Eli were enveloped in the swirling lights and disappeared. They rematerialized on the small transporter pad of an old, but reliable cargo ship. The man standing at the controls sighed. “Glad your back Captain. Noril is driving us all mad. Never thought some girl would crack him. I mean if it was you, sure, but a girl?” The man shook his head.

Vashkilu, Infiltrator

Eli looked around as his eyes adjusted he swayed a little, his stomach turning over and over again, and with the full force of a kilingon wipping at targ all of the wiskey and the Marble Jack Pie he had eaten spilled out onto the deck narrowly missing Sisnil but making a varry large mess. “That’s better” he noted and shifted his gaint frame back upright.

“Where is my paitent?”

Elias “Eli” Trenor
Medic

Unimpressed, Sisnil said, “I think we’ll find a medic who can, uh, keep his lunch down. I don’t need some drunk killing her.”

~ N, Captain

Eli looked around, if this pile of junk had an infirmy it would likly be out and to the left. He had been on many ships just like this one. “Infirmery to the left?” he said “Instead of complaining and making noise like a teritorial Gnarlack, why do you take me to ‘her’,” he said his fingers makeing little quote symbols. “And tell me what happened. “I’ve patched up people in worse shape than this” he noted.

Elias “Eli” Trenor

“Choked her. Deltan-Orion female. Sixteen.” Noril said joining them both. Then the brothers looked at each other, like this silent conversation, conveyed with only facial expressions. Really, they were communicating telepathically. “I’ll keep an eye on it. Sisnil, where else would we look?” Noril said aloud.

~ N, Captain

Eli’s eyes frowned heavily at her condition and wondered if he meant he choked her.. at the sound of her age his demenior changed drastically and he flew out of the room headed toward where he expected the infirmery to be. He was fast and steady which seamed odd given his intoxication level.

Elias “Eli” Trenor
Medic

Sisnil and Noril led the way. “I didn’t do it,” Noril said, sounding offended. “No one on this ship would, and I’d they did, they’d find themselves floating home.” Sisnil added.

~ N, Captain

Eli did not look at them “Great telepaths” he snorted.

The medical bay was small, only one bed, and on it lay the most exquisite and beautiful woman Eli had ever seen. Her features were perfectly symmetrical, her features like a Grecian goddess, her body was voluptuous, skin flawless, delightfully green skin, and bald. She was unconscious. There were dark purple bruises in the shape of a hand across her throat. Despite how beautiful she was, the pain on her face was obvious, and on closer look, she wasn’t so flawless. Her skin was dry, her face shadowed, dark circles under her eyes, her breathing labored, and just touching her would tell she had a fever.

Also Eli would suddenly feel sick. Not like he’d had too much liquor, but sick due to injury and poor health. Sick from pain and fear. Her fear became his, even as he was drawn to her, to have her, to do anything for her.

Vashkilu, Infiltrator

The wave of thoughts and feelings hit him like a wall had fallen on him, she was perfect, ’ I have to have her,’ he thought, taking a step forward,

‘we’ll be perfect together, I’m the only one who can keep her happy, and she’ll keep me happy I know it, ’ his mind raced at all the posibilities both honorable and not,

‘she’s just a kid’ he shook it off, for a moment,

’ a beautiful woman, old enough.’ he though then almost choked on his words. Fear gripped him tighter than he had felt in a long time. Alana’s voice broke in ‘Save me Eli’ his sister was on the bed, “What if I can’t ” he yelled movig over to what looked like a med. ‘If you can fix her up then you she’ be yours’.

The fear subsided quickly for what reason Eli only suspected.

“Gaaa” was all that escaped his lips. ‘Orions stupid’ he thought. ‘so prety’ his head was a wirlwind of desire, rejecting the desire, “Hells” he yelled back at the others, moving to the bed he had to sneak a touch, he laid a hand on her forhead, no one would notice that right? “She’s buring u…” he stumbled into the counter where there apeared to be a medicine cabinate. ‘up you moron’s’ he he thought

Get ahold of yourself, Sisnil’s voice echoed in Eli’s head. Remember their pheromones.

His head dance around all the posibilites, his hopes, his desires, his needs and a lonlyness that swallowed all of them. Digging through the medice he managed to find a hypo and started crying like a baby snot pooring out of his nose as he remembered when his sister had been taken from him. Mixing a cocktail including some drugs to block the pharamons as well as help lessen the effects of the wisky. He slamed the injection in before anyone could object, mere seconds moments? minutes it was all a blur. He would pay for the cocktail in withdraw tomorrow but it’s effects were fast.

After he had wiped the snot off his face it grabed a tricorder “You moron’s” he said not waiting for anykind of response, looking around he could only find a cortical stimulator, reaching into his pocket he puled a small tool out of his belt pouch and began making adjustments.

“Send someone to get a nural inhibitor” he said and then looked over her scans.

Elias “Eli” Trenor
Medic

“A what? From where?” Noril asked. Neither of the brothers were trained beyond basic first aid. They knew those kinds of drugs existed, but nothing about them.

~ N, Captain

There was extensive bruising to the throat, vocal cords and muscles. Someone had choked her nearly to death. She would be unable to swallow even small amounts of water without difficulty. There appeared to have been some healing done, but it was haphazard and careless and about a week old at least. She was dehydrated to the point of her body shutting down, and malnutritioned. The chlorophyll in her body seemed to be synthesizing some energy but there wasn’t enough light, though there was a UV lamp directly over her body. She seemed to have been under it recently, but her skin was starting to sunburn. But her body was also burning what little fat reserves it had to combat the malunion. There was no infection, but her body was beginning to treat itself like one as it fought to survive. She was a very very sick young lady.

Vashkilu, Infiltrator

Eli held up his and as he presed record on the tricorders microphone, “I’m going to need a lot more,” it would be beter in a hospital .”I’m guessing since you did not take her to a hospital you are avoiding someone?” he said lifting an eye lid. ‘skin is so soft, smooth, hot’ he snapped out of it.

“Severe Temperature, throat trama,”

“Who ever tried to patch her up did a crap job” he noted and then continued.

“Malunion in the tracia and essophagus, Server Dehydration and malnutrition, sun burn from over exposure to UV, early stages of sytemic auto-immune response.”

He glanced down at her, ‘maybe I should physically check her for other injuries that the tri-corder wont find’ he thought then shook his head, looking around the room a found a couple IV bags and a few kits. She needed more than hybo and the bio bed did not have a built in dilvery system.

First things first , he mixed up an IV saline elecrolytes and glucose and started it, he found a non narcotic sedative to slow her motabolism and help the stress on her body.
‘What have these mean men done to you, dont you wory Eli will always take care of you’ he thouht not understanding how true that would become without the pheromon support.

He mixed up another IV with amino acids, some protein along with a neural analgesic to manage her pain along with a endorcrine stabalizer to reduce her phermons.

“go to someone who supplies medical gear they will know what i’m asking for, I also need a tracheal support unit, a much better tissue regenerator, and a chondro-regenerator, and some medical gel and burn cream, can’t just leave her under a lap can cook her like a peiece of meat” he snorted. He tossed them a room key for the “Badland Hotel, get my bag and my stuff i’m going to be here a while”

“soon as this fluid circulates a few times she’s going to wake up and she’s going to be in a lot of pain, i’ve given her something but I need the saline to circulate a bit before I can introduce the sedative. Can you one of you manage her deltan side? something that would have been nice to know by the way?

“I told you she was Deltan, you ass,” Sisnil snapped irritably. Noril elbowed him.

As they responded he found a vein in her wrist and applied the first I’ve. He began stroking her head softly, which he enjoyed a little to much. ‘uggn how like touching heaven it was’. he shook his head again. “come on you can do it, come back to us, little one” he said bracing himself for the pain he might experience if they could not block her.

The care in his tone pierced through the fog of pain. Noril and Sisnil could feel it. It was curiosity and bitterness. No one cared for her, not like that. Not her father, and certainly not the mother that gave her up. Was this a death hallucination? Was she imagining Noril? Or was it the pheromones wreaking havoc on him still? Then the pain and struggles of a dying body took her back under.

“come on you, not time to go yet”, he said. ’ I need you too much ’ he thought as his hands stroked her head. ” What’s her name?”

Elias “Eli” Trenor
Medic

“This is Vashkilu, daughter of the Syndicate Lord Merck.” Noril said. “We’re not hiding from the Syndicate, we are the Syndicate. But we are ducking somebody.” Sisnil added.

“And her previous patch job was crap because her father’s men didn’t give a damn about her.” Noril said bitterly.

~ N, Captain

It took roughly 7 minutes for Eli to realize that something was horribly wrong. The drip was too fast and it was blowing her veins. Her muscles started twitching tightly and it was painful given her state of dehydration. A quick scan would show she was showing signs of metabolic alkalosis - an over amount of bicarbonate. Which was in the electrolyte solution he gave her. Her Orion cells couldn’t process the bicarbonate in those amounts. And oddly her body was beginning to sweat as well, which given her state of dehydration shouldn’t happen. Further scans showed a hormone imbalance.

Vashkilu, Infiltrator

Eli shouted back over his shoulder with out missing a beat he stopped the IV, “Dam, I need my gear and the medical equipment asap or we are in real trouble her, that or an actual medical facility.” he noted . “I’m a field medic not a xenogenticist” he said as he looked through the ships medical supplies. He breathed a sigh of relief when he found it. Cleaning a spot just above her colorbone, ‘he skin was so soft’ his eyes scaned her briefly drinking her all in. With a click he secured a portable dermal port, her body was basically now sweatinng itself to death. He grabed a fresh bag of saline only, and connected it to the ports and started a slow drip, it woud help her kidneys deal with the bicarbonate.

The biger issue was her Deltan side was not getting what it needed, and her hormones were all out of wack, she needed light, but the stupid uv lamp would cook her skin. He needed a gel to keep her from burning. “Dam this ship” he yelled and took off looking for the galley. A couple minutes later, he came in with a large bowl of clear jelly like goop, he had made it several times in the field to protect from radation it should do the trick, allow her to get the light she needed while not burning her perfect skin. He was going to enjoy putting this on her, he shouldn’t, but he would. He mixed in vascular regenitive gel as well to help heal the now taxed veins.

With the skilled hands of an expert massage therapist he slowly rubbed the Jelly on all the exposed skin, taking care not to miss any spot that as exposed, he was enjoying this too much. “There you go, my little angle” he said as he finished the protective layer and turned on the lamp again. he place cooling packs on her wrists and ankles and monitored her vitals and temperature very closely. He was having to rercall everything by memory fortunatly for him he had a detailed knowladge of orions, but is deltan was rudimentery at best. He needed his gear and medical padd. He looked deperatly around the room for a computer.

Elias “Eli” Trenor
Medic

There was a computer off to the side in the small bay. A search for Deltan phisiology would show that Deltan biology was very similar to human, with iron based blood as opposes to copper based Orion blood. If a transfusion was ever needed, it would be tricky.

What made them significanly different (other than their psi abilities) was their nervous system was much more advanced. Their senses (sight, smell, taste, touch, sound) were exponentially more acute and sensitive. Not only did this mean pleasure, but also pain. That would mean that pain killers, mood stabilizers, sedatives, and similar would have to closely monitored for effectiveness and dosage.

Unfortunately there was no mention of Deltan/Orion hybrids or any type of Deltan hybrids at all.

Vashkilu, Infiltrator

“Where is your gear?” Noril asked. “We can get that.”

“And curse this ship again and it might decide to throw you out,” Sisnil added.

~ N, Captain

OOC: “go to someone who supplies medical gear they will know what i’m asking for, I also need a tracheal support unit, a much better tissue regenerator, and a chondro-regenerator, and some medical gel and burn cream, can’t just leave her under a lap can cook her like a peiece of meat” he snorted. He tossed them a room key for the “Badland Hotel, get my bag and my stuff i’m going to be here a while”

Eli ignored the comment, the man was clearly worried about his friend, or was she a lovers? Jeliously started to sync in the he shook it off, finally the inhibitor he took was kicking in, he started feeling a little sick to his stomach about what he had been thinking. Shaking his head he turned and looked at the Captian, his eyes filled with compasion realizing he was scared for her. “Captain, the card in your hand, Badland Hotel room 201, I don’t have time to curb my tongue and work on your friend. Please have some one get the things I need there is little time.” he said then turned back to draw blood and placed one sample direct into the analyser and one into the bio serperatation module he needed a closer look at all aspects of her blood, not just the final results. “There is not much time Captian” he finally noted not looking back at him.

Elias “Eli” Trenor
Medic

Her blood had a mix if both hemocyanin (copper based blood) and hemoglobin (iron based blood). Though it seemed that the hemoglobin was much more apparent in the sample and her body’s preferred method of oxygen transportation. She did need copper in her diet, but too much would cause symptoms consistent with Wilson’s disease.

A blood transfusion from a hemoglobin donation would need to be supplemented with a copper infusion to prevent copper diffeciency and hemochromatosis (overage of iron). Regular self donations would be prudent. (OOC- anything else you want to know or I missed let me know.)

Vashkilu, Infiltrator

Eli looked at the results and then the medical repicator it was a piece of patch work, he was not sure if it would work or not, he would have to test the first sample and but the looks of the gel levels in the replicator he would only get one maybe two tests before he would have to just go for it. Before he started he scanned her again this time looking at her various organs, here current blood supply might be lieing two him, he needed to see what her body wanted and a way to at least get a close match to her needs. “A new medical Replicator would be helpful, or at least a couple of refills.” he shouted back over his shoulder.

Elias “Eli” Trenor
Medic

“Where the hell do you expect us to get a medical replicator?” Noril snapped, but it was Sisnil’s words. As the older brother was already gone, he and Noril were in telepathic communication.

~ N, Captain

Her blood supply was fine. The scans remained the same. She was malnutrition and dehydrated do to the fact she couldn’t eat or drink. Her body could gain energy from the UV light, but due to her mixed heritage she couldn’t rely solely on that. She needed actual food and water. As far as her organs went, it was clear she was quite healthy and fit before all of this happened, but everything was under strain keeping her alive.

Vashkilu, Infiltrator

Eli did not really care where the found it, just that they did they were obviously resourcefull. He looked over the readings, checked is manual entries again on the old replicator and made some blood, and hooked it up to the port with the saline, the nice thing about a port the artery could take a much heavier load. It gave her a measured dose through hypo to help break down the biocarbonate in her blood. He attached a bio bag to her inorder to trap her fluids. He would need samples of her urine.

The blood Eli had synthesized didn’t cause a negative reaction, but her body was slow to integrate it. As if it wasn’t quite sure what it was. It was good substitute but not something that would be useful for long term medical needs.

While he monitored her stats and bio readings he began to take a closer look at her throat and began coming up with a plan to reconstruct it. He would need the tools and his bag but he could plan it out. “You hang in there little lady, Eli will have you patched up good as new.” his sister apeared be for him on the bed again, this time she was resting, oh how he missed her.

Tears began to well up like little pools, he instinctively reached for his flask. He thought about taking a drink, that would make her go away, or at least he would not carry the guilt that came with seeing her. It was a long moment in his mind but a mear second to everyone else. “You need me” he said open to the air, he may have ment the lady on the table, or his sister, or both. Who ever he ment it for, it caused a reaction. He tossed the flask over to Noril, best keep that away from me I think.

Elias “Eli” Trenor

Vash’s eyes fluttered open and she stared at the strange man above her. She should be worried, she didn’t remember him. Where were the twins? But the man was hurting and she felt his need to help. That need, grief drove him. Her hand moved weakly and her fingers brushed his hand. For a moment the pain and grief, the need to the flask was gone, replaced by peacefulness. Then it was gone as she feel back into unconsciousness.

Noril would know exactly what she’d tried to do. Eli’s emotions were so strong they’d pulled her from the blackness. It was amazing she was moved by it given how she grew up, but there was a deep well of compassion, that both Noril and Sisnil had seen, but she kept hidden.

Vashkilu, Infiltrator

Eli looked down at her, he felt strange something he had not felt in a very long time, peace? He looked at her is eyes still filled with tears but calm and at peace. It took him a moment or two after she passed back out to say anything. He leaned down an spoke to hear ear, “don’t do that again your to weak, .” He was going to teller the lie he told everyone but it felt wrong for some reason. “Lets get you on your feet, then you can help me however you want.”

Eli didn’t know it yet, but Vash didn’t take orders from just anyone. She was head strong, stubborn, and fought for independence. He would learn though.

Noril was perfectly happy to get rid of it. It was a whole before Sisnil returned. “Everything you asked for.” He said, and it included the regenerator. Don’t. Ask.

~ N, Captain

“Excellent.”, he said grabbing the gear “Thanks” he noted and place the Tracheal Support Unit into the steralizer. While he waited in used another dermal port to create a line for feeding. In a few minutes she was getting a very slow feed from the tube. “It wil take time” washing his hands again and placing them in gloves this time. “But the nutritian should start working into her system over the next hour or two. ” he finished has he pull the TSU out of the steralizer.

Placed one of the sterilize towels on her for head and tilted here head back, opened and inserted the TSU, it slowly expanded opening her airway and giving her throat much needed support. “There breathing and talking taken care of , it will hurt but she can speak if she wakes” Pulling out the Chondro-Regenerator he looked “This must have cost a fortune” he said more to himself than anyone else. “Ok young lady, this is going to take a few hours” He said ajusting the UV lamp away from the throat area so he could see better. “Lets get those crushed Tracheal rings healed so we can take that back out shall we.

Elias “Eli” Trenor
Medic

Burning agonizing pain rippled through her as the TSU was placed. Noril and SIsnil could feel it, Noril more as he’d been the one insulating her away from everyone. It was agonizing pain in her throat, but then the air fully hit her lungs and her psyche didn’t seem to know what to do with the relief combined with the pain. Her body did, and took in deep gasping breaths, even in her unconscious state.

Vashkilu, Infiltrator

Eli felt a little relief breathing was generaly a good sigh, “A look who’s a tuff nut, ” said watching her vitals.. “That a girl come on back” he coaxed. Shifting over to the counter he grabed the Chondro-Regenerator and set it to a narrow beem best to start small on the first past. Shifting the light so he could make out ever curve of her throat, he lean in close. “I’m suprised your not screeming in pain” he noted as he began to make the slow pass begining the healing process. it would take several days to heal fully but she would start feeling some relief with in minutes of the procedure starting.

Elias “Eli” Trenor
Medic

The K12 indicator on the biobed showed she was in immense amounts of pain. Mentally she was creaming in pain, but her body was also just too exhausted to wake up to tell him so. Though as he worked there were small gasps, wheezes, and almost whines of pain as he worked.

Vashkilu, Infiltrator

He added a neural band to his mental lists of things to get once she had stablized, until then the cortical stimulator he modified would have to do, it could produce the frequenceies needed to block the pain centers of her brain, however her cognitive abilities would be impaired some since it was not designed to avoid supressing those area’s of her brain like the neural band would. There would be no long term effects but when she woke she would have a hard time translating thought to speach quickly. “There you are little lady, that should make you feel better.” he noted watching the K12 for reaction.

Elias “Eli” Trenor
Medic

The K12 levels began to go down and her body seemed to relax. By this point the fluids were starting to make a difference in her vitals as well. Her body was metabolizing the nutrient feed he was giving her as well. Not as quickly as he would probably like, but she was really in bad shape.

Vashkilu, Infiltrator

“Thata girl,” he encouraged, while continuing to rebuild. “You rest, now” he said placing a hand on her forehead to turn her head slightly and slowly.

Twently minutes later the first treatment was complete which was good the cocktail he had made for himself was wearing off and he would need to rest, he cranked the alarms up on the the bio bed and leand back to take a rest. Sleep found him quickly, that’s when the nightmares kicked him, there would be no rest of Eli even when he slept.

Elias “Eli” Trenor
Medic

It was hours later when the fluids and nutrients had finally began to seep into her system, that she woke. Vashkilu’s eyes slowly blinked open. The smells were off, the sound too. She knew she wasn’t in her father’s home, but she didn’t know where she was. Everything felt sluggish, like she’d been asleep for far too long. She felt ill. She remembered arguing with… Noril? No, with Sisnil about being too close to her. Noril had… she closed her eyes, Noril had been affected by her pheromones. Was he alright? Where was he?

She tried to sense them, but even that seemed sluggish. Where was she? She opened her eyes to look around again. It looked like some kind of medical bay, but primitive compared to the one in her father’s house. Not that that had ensured her adequate care. Her throat felt… off. She touched it gingerly, it felt odd too, but she could breath better, but it hurt. Her eyes fell on a very large man asleep in a chair beside the biobed. Vash didn’t recognize him at all. Who was he? Where were Noril and Sisnil? Where was she?

Taking a few breaths to help her focus she tried pushing herself up to sitting…

Vashkilu, Infiltrator

“Fall back!!!” Eli screamed dragging Commander Tar’s limp body through the mud and popping of shots from his pulse rifle. Slipping behind a rock he set the man down. and took up position behind a wall of rock and returned fire covering his squads retreat. “Captian, you have to fall back with us” Shantara shouted at him. “Sir” she said again.

Eli did not look at here, take the commander and go i’ll cover you and be right behind, he shouted. “Where the hell are they all comming from” he said the dominion was everywhere, how did they know we where here. He though shoving her back, “Now!!!! get to the dam ship” he orders.

And then he heard it, a blast from a dominon rifle, time slowed down as he spun around, as the second shot struck Shantara and her body fell limp to the ground, then another body and another body. Eli spun taking out target after target. And then black as something struck him in his side.

Eli twiched and moaned, rage, fear, hopelessness and loss filled his mind as he thrashed in his sleep the losses of a battle long forgoten by most ringing out in his nightmares.

Elias “Eli” Trenor
Medic

His emotions flooded her, bringing tears to her eyes that fell over her cheeks in golden rivletts. She paused in her effort to sit up and let it wash over her. Whoever the man was, he was in pain, suffering. Vash pushed past his emotions, focusing on herself and then struggled to sit up again. She was lightheaded and the room spun as she did.

Keeping one hand on the bed to steady herself, she reached the other for his face. Her palm rested against his cheek, and suddenly the nightmares disappeared. The grief dulled, the rage cooled, the hopelessness turned to confidence, and the fear to peace. It was immensely draining, but she had a vague certainty that this man had helped her. She would help him in turn.

Vashkilu, Infiltrator

Eli’s eyes blinked open as a large rush of air entered into his lungs. Then peace fell over him, his masive hand found her’s on the side of his face, he looked her in the eye for a long moment trying to sort out what was happening. Slowlly he put her hand down on the side of the bed and gave it a gental tap. “Thank you” was all he said before looking over her readings. “Sit back, little one” he suggested. “You have been a bitt of a mess and still need to rest. I’m Elias, my friends call me Eli. How do you feel?” he asked

Elias “Eli” Trenor
Medic

She nodded softly at his thanks, her lavender eyes studied him. He was watching her readings so he didn’t see the shock on her face at being called ‘little one’. It wasn’t so much the words, but the tone that surprised her. Not even her father spoke to her with such care and gentleness. Like he was concerned for her well being for herself and not her worth to him.

She pulled her legs back onto the bed, but didn’t make another move to lay back and relax. Vash didn’t know this man. He must be on some sort of inhibitor because he didn’t seem affected by her, and she knew she had no control over her effect at the moment. He seemed safe enough, but that could be a trick. Last she remembered, she couldn’t speak. She doubted this man knew Orion sign, so she would have to pantomime.

Vash pointed to her throat and flexed her fingers in and out of fist trying to convey it was throbbing. She pointed to her head and waved her hand around, but the way she was swaying was a good indication she was trying to say she was dizzy or light headed. She waved a hand down her body and then moved two of her fingers like a person walking and then she let them collapse. Her whole body felt tired and sore, but that was the best she could do. She’d tried to speak to him telepathically when she touched him, but he wasn’t a telepath so it wasn’t possible for her to reach him.

Vashkilu, Infiltrator

Eli’s eyes watched as she did here little dance. “Your throat is going to be sore, I had to put a dam in to keep your trackia from colasping, you should be able to speak though, ” he noted, the continued through here jestures, “If you are saying you are filling dizzy, layback you , and no I don’t want you walking right now it’s not safe, your muscles are going to be sore and are not going to support you well” he noted moved to be closer to her and look her in the eye. “I’ll take good care of you ok! no one is going to hurt you while i’m around.” he said softly holding out his masive club of a hand.”I’ll crush em” he said closing his hand into a fist and then gave a little chuckle.

His feelings were intense, so much so, Vash was worried he was being influenced by her pheromones. Her eyes dropped to his hand and then back up to his eyes. She smiled, warm and friendly, and then she fanned her face, her other hand over her heart, as if she might faint from such a show of chivalry. It was teasing but it was genuine.

His face became more serious, “I don’t know what happened, your throat was crushed as a result of some very poor medical intervention your orion and detan physiology was warring with eachother.” he paused for a moment, “I was,” he thought about how to expalin he poor intial behavior. “Then when I got here i was um distracted by your ‘scent’ and almost killed you.” he said looking away for a moment the shame clearly written on his face. He shook it off quickly though. “I got you stablized though, old Eli’s gotcha” he said forcing a mile. “It’s going to take a day or two to get that throat repaired though.”

She wondered how furious he would be if he knew how it happened. Maybe later. Vash’s hand reached out and took his and squeezed gently. She knew what she wanted to say but shenwas having a bit of trouble getting the words to her mouth. “Sorry,” she rasped and winced slightly at the discomfort. It wasn’t his fault her effect. He wouldn’t know she was able to control it. Most Orions couldn’t.

Why was she sorry, he thought to himself she can’t help what her body does in that state. Eli looked at her his eyes far more serious than they should be, with the tone a loving fathers was say to his child. His hand nearly encompast her entire head as he placed it on top gently “You had no control over it, never appoligize for who you are, understand? There is nothing wrong with the gifts that you have been given, they just happened to be backfiring.”

Her brows went up and she grinned. She wasn’t so much feeling guilty, but empathetic to the struggle it caused him in helping her. She nodded and then leaned forward and kissed his cheek. He was kind and sweet.

He pulled his hand back to the back of her neck making sure the stimulator had not come off.

“You should not be feeling much pain, the inhibiter should take care of that , do you want me to turn it up a bit ? it will make it harder to think though?” he said

Elias “Eli” Trenor

She shook her head no. It wasn’t a lot of pain, more like she knew she was despite not feeling it. She still hadn’t laid back - stubborn. She looked around, “Where?”

Vashkilu, Infiltrator

He looked around the room, “I’m not entirely sure, I think we are on the two mind invadors ship?” he said with a scoff. “Speaking of, did they kidnap you? they seem worried, more than over an investment.” he asked not really caring if they knew.

Elias “Eli” Trenor

She laughed at his description of the twins. It hurt her throat but she was amused. “Help me,” she rasped waving in a way to include the twins.

Then she pointed at her throat, “Father’s Lieutenant.”

Vashkilu, Infiltrator

Eli’s eyes narrowed, if it were his underling the man would likely be dead already, but Eli did not know her father. “Well if it was my lietenant he would be dead now and you would be in a top noch facility.” his eyes glanced around indcating this was not that.

The man was dead, but not because of what he had done to her. She motioned toward the door to indicate the twins. They had killed the man and she wanted to explain. She coughed as her throated burned and pulled instead. She opened her mouth to explain she was in a top facility, but he had given her better care.

Holding his hand up he waved off the next comment.”We can sort that out later, lets get another treatment in and you should be able to eat something, you must be starving” he said mointing down to the feeding tube, “The paste will keep you breathing but does not really satisfy the hunger. You you like to try some water?” he said handing her a glass.

Elias “Eli” Trenor
Medic

Vash nodded and eagerly took the glass letting her fingers brush against his. She was surprised how it shook in her hand. How long had it been? What exactly had happened to her? She wrapped both hands around the glass and sipped like a bird. The last bit of water she’d had had felt like ice shards in her throat.

The movement was difficult and strange with the device he used, and it hurt some, but not enough to stop her from trying to drink the whole glass.

Vashkilu, Infiltrator

“That a girl, I know it’s unconfortable but it will help those muscles recover whille i’m rebuilding the trachea he said puling out the regenerator he looked at her, up for round two? it will feel hot but should not hurt if it does we’ll have to up the stimulator since I can’t give you anything for the pain” he noted. She was so young, how on earth had she gotten her self into this mess. No matter it would sort out soon, Eli was getting tired and the coctail was warring off, he would need a drink so or to sleep, or both.

Elias “Eli” Trenor
Medic

Vash just nodded and finally laid back. She kept her eyes on him, watching, guarding herself. She thought Sisnil and Noril wouldn’t leave her alone with someone who would hurt her, but maybe she was wrong. She’d trusted her father, and look what that had gotten her. She set a hand over his and patted it. “I’ll be fine,” she rasped again. Everything was more intense for her, but she’d stay quiet. Now that she was awake she could control some things.

Vashkilu, Infiltrator

Eli smiled warmly, “Alright then” he said as he started the treatment it was more about a very slow steady move, he tried to focus slightly ahead of the the tool to keep it moving at the pace he wanted. “Last time I had to deal with a crushed windpipe, I was being shot at by an entrenched company of Gem Hardar soldiers, needless to say this is a bit easier” he noted. “Got a bit of fire in you, reminds me of my sister, she was something!” he noted his heart sinking a bit reaslizing she could likely feel what he was feeling he spoke. “Hold still ok? don’t want to have to start over.” he said not moving his head but looking up with his eyes to hers and then focusing again. “This one time we were making a run of medical supplies, and this stupid deck hand put a hand on her, course I started to say something but it was too late, ” he paused, “Had to repair his nose..” Eli said with a laugh. He told several more stories it was clear they were together all the time and very, very close.

Vash laid still, not nodding up giving him a thumbs up when he told her to hold still. There was a deep well of hurt and guilt in him when he spoke of his sister. She sensed a deep well of caring and kindness too. Something she wasn’t used to in her life. It drew her to him in a way she hadn’t really experienced before. She didn’t smile afraid it would pull her throat but her eyes danced as he laughed about his sister. Good for her. Take no crap from anyone. She could feel how much he loved her, so why was he so sad?

After about 10 minutes he stopped and pulled out a ticorder he ran some scans to see how things were progressing.

Elias “Eli” Trenor
Medic

The tricorder showed healing at a slow but steady pace. Her body was taking to the treatment, but the heat saw drying her skin out. She hadn’t complained at all. It felt more like dry skin than anything. She touched his hand briefly as he stared at the screen.

Vashkilu, Infiltrator

He did not move his hand as she touched it, he really did not have much contact with people, it was nice. He looked at her smiled then he moved his handsto her eyes opened them “Look up” he said “Good” Then he looked at her skin, pulled out the gell the nasty twin had picked up. “Time for some more light. He was a great mositurizer as well so it would help keep her skin from becoming cracked and rigid. He squirted some into his palms, it really did not take much. “May I?”

Elias “Eli” Trenor
Medic

She looked up when he asked her to, wondering what he was looking for. Her lavender eyes settled back on him as he pulled out a gel. There was a flash of frustration and dislike and then it was gone. She had no idea what caused it. “Hhhh,” she licked her lips and tried not to cough as she cleared her throat, “Yes.”

Vashkilu, Infiltrator

Grabbing two towels from the clean storage he reach under the blanket and placed one across her chest and another acorss her pelvis. He removed any remain cloting to try to expose as much skin as possible. He slowly wiped the gell over the exposed parts of her body and handed her some goggles to protect her eyes. “Gonna do this the right way from now on.” he said placing a defusser on the UV lamp, and swinging it over. The cream felt great on her overly uv’d skin and especially her throat area. The moment it made contact there would be a great sense of relief.

Vash took the goggles because she had a feeling he would be upset if she didn’t. She looked at the lamp. It wasn’t set up right, but no one would know that. This man, Eli, seemed to have figured out she needed it adjusted. The get felt good on her dry burned skin and she sighed with relief especially when it hit her throat.

Eli reached down and tapped a timer, “25min” he said as he typed it in.. “Think you can manage that? I’m thinking that in a couple hours you should be able to eat some soft food, if you can we can get you off the feeding tube” he said then sat down and leaned back into his chair.

Elias “Eli” Trenor
Medic

“I can,” she assured him. Food sounded great. If she remembered correctly, she was supposed to be cooking in Noril’s place now. Hopefully the food wasn’t too bad. When he had set down.she set a hand over his again and stared into his eyes. He needed peace so he could truly rest.

Vashkilu, Infiltrator

Eli started to protest but he was so tired, when the peace hit his mind it was only a moment or two before he fell asleep in the chair, his dreams peacefull..

When the timer went of, eli’s eyes opene up, he streched. and turned of the lamp, “How was that? help with your energy leveles at all?” he asked

Elias “Eli” Trenor
Medic

“Yes,” she sat up with more grace than should be allowed by someone as sick as she was. “Thanks.” Her voice was better. The rasp wasn’t quite so bad. Her throat was still sore, but there wasn’t a lot of pain. Getting words from her brain to her mouth still felt slow and sluggish.

Vashkilu, Infiltrator

Eli looked the IV’s were empty now, he removed them but left the ports in. “As he removed the feeding tube, Unlock, twise pull.” he paused, “Insert, twist, lock” he finished looking at her for confirmation. “I want it back on when you go to bed tonight.”

She watched and gave him a coy smile. It was either meant to distract him and she had no intention of putting the things back in, or she was flirting and inviting him to do it for her.

Eli looked at her a moment, then his eyes squinted in a looked that suggested he was skeptical.. “I better come back at bed time, I can toss a bedtime story in there if you want” he said a strong hit of sarcasim in his voice.

A soft laugh rippled out. It made her cough and then swallow at the soreness. “Yes,” she said after a minute. She’d hold him to it, too.

“I’m guessing you would like to form more than two word sentances?” he asked. “We can try turning the inhibitor down a little if you want, but you have to promis to be honest about your pain level” he said sternly.

Elias “Eli” Trenor
Medic

She really grinned then, her eyes dancing and laughing. She lifted her hands palm up and tipped her head to the side. As if saying Me not be honest? Truthfully she would rather keep the inhibitor. She could tell how much pain she should be in, and she knew her lack of pain tolerance. However, Elias was a stranger, and she would show no weakness if she could help it.

Vashkilu, Infiltrator

Eli sighed, “You are going to be a handfull arnt you?” he said with a smile, “Fine” he noted.

“Yes,” she affirmed. If it wasn’t hard to make the words utter she would tell him she would because he liked it. She could tell. That smile was too genuine to be forced.

He grabbed a gown from the drawer, thank goodness they actuall had some, sliding it over her, he secured it around her neck covering her, pulled the towels. Pulling her up slowly by her right hand he placed his other firmly on her back. “Feet on the ground, lets see if we can get you on your feet,” he said helping her get her feet planted. “Easy now littleone” he said, watching her for fall signs.

Elias “Eli” Trenor
Medic

She dutifully allowed him to help her with the gown. Her fingers wrapped warmly around his palm as he helped her sit. He could feel her muscles flex in her back that told of someone who was normally in excellent physical condition and worked at it. She was eager to get up and find out where the twins went. Where were they? Were they even here?

Eli noticed her looking for something or someone but made no comment about it, he could tell when he was examining her earlier, but as her back flexed rewas impressed. “Train alot do you, you got some muscle on you” he noted.

She looked up at him and nodded. She opened her mouth to speak, but it was just too much effort to make her body listen to her brain.

Her feet touched the cold floor, and a shiver chased up her legs. It felt good though. She gave him a sassy glare at being called little. Though to be fair, compared to him, she was tiny.

He looked at her alittle smug, “what?” he jabbed “I did not say being little was bad”

This time her nod was quick and firm. She poked his chest and then his temple. Clearly telling him to remember that.

Eli raised his hand with a bit of a feigned jesture, trying to keep the mood light, he was a stranger after all and she was alone with him. “Easy there killer, I know my place” he said chuckling. She had some fire no doubt about that.

Vash narrowed her eyes at him as if trying to decide if he was teasing her or not. “Vash… not killer.”

Eli’s eyes softened, his playing apparently had gone to far. He gave her a compassionate look, “I don’t think that, I was just playing ok? I’m sorry” he noted.

She set a hand to his cheek and smiled. Vash was capable of killing. She was trained, but if feeling someone die was worse than feeling the pain she caused when fighting, she wasn’t capable of handling it with ease.

She let her weight settle on her feet, and it was immediately apparent she wasn’t going to be able to hold herself up. She wasn’t shaking, but she was weak. Her hand gripped his and the side of the bed to keep herself upright.

Vashkilu, Infiltrator

“OK” he said setting her butt back on the edge of the bed. pulling her leg up into to he left hand, “Push on by hand with your foot” he said holding her toes with his left hand, he watched her closely.

Elias “Eli” Trenor
Medic

She looked absolutely indignant as he lifted her and set her back on the bed. How dare he man-handle her like that! It wasn’t the strength in his arms. Orions were strong, but no one dared touch her. Yes she was a slave, but she was also her father’s ‘precious flower’. Only the arrogant or stupid laid a hand on her.

She didn’t sense any malice from him and didn’t lash out. She pushed her toes against his hand, but her foot shook with the pressure, despite her determination.

Vashkilu, Infiltrator

He could see on her face that she was not going to quit. “That’s good, better than I was expecting your one tough little lady” he said intentionally jabbing at her age and size, while he said has he let her leg dangle and took hold of her other thight lifting her leg up, getting hold of her other foot he pushed on it. “Ok now this one. give it a push” he said..

Her other leg was weaker, shaking more. As if she’d put all her effort into the first time and couldn’t summon the same effort now. Which really wasn’t surprising, but given the look on her face, it ticked her off.

“Good” he said, “Ok lets try just leaning again the bed and use me to hold your self up. He said grabing her by the waste and slowly letting her slide down to the floor, he then put her arms on top up his so she could use him as a walker. “Don’t over do it now he said looking into her eyes, over exerting yourself will make you heal slower in the this case not faster.” he looked at her seriously this time letting her know the truth of it.

Elias “Eli” Trenor
Medic

She tossed her head, but the effect was lost, or enhanced (depending on your point-of-view) because she was bald. She always healed slow. She wasn’t going to stop doing what she had to because her heritage was a mixed blessing. She wouldn’t live in a bubble. She kept her grip on his arms lite, refusing to need anyone, but aware he was in charge simply due to his size.

Vashkilu, Infiltrator

Eli could tell she was trying not to use him for help, but she was also not able to stand on her own. ‘Very independent this one’ he thought to himself.

“Ok that’s enough, I just wanted to see where we were able to stand.” he noted lifting her back up on the bed, “Lay back please” he said starting to cover her up with the blanket. ”

Elias “Eli” Trenor
Medic

There he was lifting her back up again. But again it seemed to come from care and concern. It was strange. The man didn’t really know her, why was he so concerned? She shook her head, refusing to lay back. “Water?”

Vashkilu, Infiltrator

He smiled and handed her a glass of water. “Stay in bed while I find you something to eat” he said he head was starting to pound, he needed a drink, bad. “I’m going to go what I can find in the kitchen for you to eat that wont shred your throat.” he said reaching into his bag grabing a small cylinder and taking a swig. “be back in a min” he noted.

She watched him take a swig. There was no judgement. Everyone she knew imbibed like crazy. She didn’t. Her metabolism made her far too susceptible to the effects. She took the glass with a grateful smile and began to sip the water.

There had not been much in the kitchen some rations and something that could be called meet, he pasted the rations and diced the meet in to very fine strands cooked it and brought it back to the room. “Sorry not much here to work with” he noted.

Elias “Eli” Trenor
Medic

As soon as he was gone, Vash pulled the blanket off and set the glass down carefully. She could feel the tremor in her arms and legs, but she pushed past it. She needed to become more familiar with her surroundings. Where she was, what was around, possible ways out. What was available to work as a weapon. She slowly lowered her feet to the floor and stood there for a long several minutes. She was half laying on the biobed before pushing herself up. She wasn’t going to try and ‘run’; she just wanted to get a feel for where she was. She hadn’t managed to make it very far, just to the next table over and examine the items there, when she heard his heavy foot fall returning. And she tried to hurry to get back in the bed. She paused, one hand on the bed, one on the table and looked up at him with a sheepish but not sorry grin.

Vashkilu, Infiltrator

Eli looked out over the tray at her , he smirked. She was so like his sister had been. “I’m sure you can see the lack of suprise on my face” he said softly. “Bed please” he asked, wanting to see if she could get back on her own. His heart sank a little at the thought of his sister, he sat down the tray, leaned against the wall and took another swig.

Elias “Eli” Trenor
Medic

It took several long moments for her to make it back to the bed. Getting back up was a problem. She couldn’t lift herself up, or balance on one foot to try and scoot back on. It was comical for Eli to watch her try and finally drape her top half over the bed and try to squirm and wiggle back on. She was stubborn.

Eli watched he squirm and make her way back to the bed, he wanted to help her but he also knew she would half to learn the hard way that he was her to help her.

She felt his sadness, and paused in her efforts and looked at him. Why was he so sad? His feeling was strong enough to make her give in. She sighed. “Help.” It took a moment t to form the next word correctly, “Please.”

Vashkilu, Infiltrator

The way Eli moved over to her made her think he was going to grab her her but the scuff and toss her on the bed, but when he got to her, he gentally lifted her onto the bed and rolled her over into a comfortable sitting postion against the pillows. “No more ok? we’ll have you walking on your own soo enough” he voice was filled with understanding, genuine concern, and booze. He moved over to the tray and handed her the tray with an appologetic look. “It’s all I could find” it smelled ok but it looked like mush.

Elias “Eli” Trenor
Medic

Vash watched him warily as he approached her. She couldn’t exactly get away. She would have to use her head if he got rough.

But her trepidation was for naught. He lifted her up with exquisite gentleness. Surprise flashed across her face as he spoke to her. She nodded, “Ohhh…kay.” Something about his sadness and gentleness made her want to make things easier for him. She took the tray. She looked at the food and her nose wrinkled. She was spoiled and it showed. She didn’t comment though as she took a bite. It wasn’t great, but it blissfully didn’t hurt her throat. She was also hungry enough her taste buds and stomach didn’t care what it was. The first bite hit her stomach and it growled loudly. Her cheeks turned a slightly deeper shade of green.

Vashkilu, Infiltrator

Eli had leaned back in his chair and closed his eyes for a moment, he needed to think, only hours ago he was losing himself in a bottle breaking the occational skull, and now he was on ship, sober, ish, and taking care of and injured teenager who if he did not know better was a reincarnation of his sister. When her stomach chimed in only one eye opened, looked at her flushed cheeks. “Must be a leak in the sink” he said looking over at it. Hows that food” he asked sas his eyes returned to her, “when your done you can get some sleep and i’ll give you that story I promissed.

She grinned, something that was almost a giggle slipping out. If it was the sink then he was the warp core. She was done and slid the tray toward the end of the bed and fussed with the blanket. Finally laying back and trying to get comfortable.

His mind drifted to when he and his sister listen to their dad tell stories he had been so good at it. Sadness gripped him again his heart sank as he put the flask to his mouth again. Nothing was bringing them back, he had come to terms with it.

Elias “Eli” Trenor
Medic

She felt his deep sadness and loss. The need to drown it. Vash pushed herself up slightly and reached out a hand and set it over his. She stared at him, not sure what to say. Compassion wasn’t something her life taught. Well, not a lot of it any way.

Vashkilu, Infiltrator

Eli leaned forward patted the top of her hand with his then pulled away. “Ok I’m not great at this, that was my fathers gambit” he note. “Sit back and get comfortable.” he said staring off into space for a long breath it was unclear that he was going to start.

“Long ago, on a world dotted with windmills and fields full of all kinds of crops, there lived a tall farm boy. He loved two things more than life itself, flying cargo shuttles for his family’s harvest and sharing adventures with his twin sister.” he said the sten of sadness lashed on his face only a moment and then it was gone.

Vash grinned and wiggled and scooted around under the blanket pretending to get comfortable. She couldn’t remember anyone every telling her a bedtime story.

Eli smiled warmly as she settled in, he and his sister would do the same thing. He continued.

The two would strace pictures in the clouds, and dream of racing through the stars. They dreamed of a life together bringing food to the other colonies that were filled with dust and mines. Life was good and full of prosiperity, until the day the new rulers arived and darkness of the heart cast a great shadow on the surounding systems.” he said remembering the day as if it were yesterday, the day Cardasian boots hit the ground.

“The new soldiers boots would come in rythm and pain, the took land and fired the homes, they came for his home and his family was ordered to leave. To leave the home they had built. The twins parrents refeused “No, this is our land, our crop, or lives” he protested. So the soldiers got angry, and in a moment his parents were gone, and the twins were in chains” he paused and got vash another glass of water.

Elias “Eli” Trenor
Medic

Vash listened quietly. His emotions were too poignant, too raw, for the story to be fake. He lived it. She took the glass and sat up a little to drink. “Thank you.” Then she laid back quietly.

Vashkilu, Infiltrator

Eli smiled, he was sure that she would feel what he was feeling, but he hoped it would comfort her a little too his presense and the lack of anyone she new.. ‘Where where those two anyway, they need to pay me.’ he thought.

It certainly allowed her to get a better sense of who he was, and that allowed her to at least.relax a little.

For two years, the two were enslaved and forced to mine, they were seperated at night and when they behaved were aloud to work together during the day. They did not talk much about the nights but rather they continued to quietly dream of the day the would find a way out. So rumers and wispers of rebelion hit the camps and one day they found thier oportunity. The ran through the mines in a silent sprint for freadom, but as the airshaft mine began to shed light, a blast for the soldies caused a colapse. His sister was no more.

Vash could feel his grief and anger and the hollow hollowness. She drew in a quick breath and blinked to stop the golden tears from leaking out.

Grief found the boy quickly, and his heart became like cold iron. He blamed the distant council captians who pad promised protection, a protection that never came. He would not fail were they did he would protect and free his people anyway he could, led by the wispers of the dead.

He joined a band of rebels, who carried food, blankets, and hope to colonies trapped behind enemy lines. There the boy quickly becomeing a man, danced through hasteroids and shadows, slipping past patrols to bring hope to the lost. Battles raged as the boy became a man, and many of his friends and fellow warriors came back broken and dieing. Through out the studdied and learned how to treat and care for those that made it back, going into battle to pull them out of the death fire and bring them to safty. Many years this continued and the young man, became older and his name was known through out the region, hope for his people, dispaire for his enemies.

Elias “Eli” Trenor

He was describing a hero and himself. She had a sense that he didn’t see himself that way, but embellished for her sake. She nodded at his last part. “Good.... afraid.” She’d seen such things, and of course no Orion family would let something like that go. Revenge would be dealt.

Vashkilu, Infiltrator

The mans infammy grew and soon he had found a woman to share his burden with, the war took her too, it took and took and till one day it stopped. The war of ,

‘Eli paused a second trying to get creative.’

Many flags began and took more from him and his people, from all people than could be recorded. A distant empire had comeback, and all of known space erupted in the most brutal war any had seen. The rebels, reluctantly set aside thier greivences for the greater good, and he was forced to work with now with the council that abandoned him, he was given a command of his own and rained terror on the enemy. He lost another wife in that war hope of a family faded away forever.

When the war finally was over he the damage was vast, the council gratefull for his time and service offered him a badge and a ship to help keep the region safe from further harm, it would seem he had a choice to make.

He paused to see if she was still awake, looking at her he smiled.

Elias “Eli” Trenor
Medic

She was most certainly awake. Vash was intelligent and could piece together broad facts and time lines. Who the factions and councils were. Who he fought for and against. The distant power. But 2 wives? His parents, his twin… such loss. She had the urge to hug him and take his grief away. It was a curious reaction because she’d never had such inclinations… except with Noril.

Vashkilu, Infiltrator

He continued.

The man was heart broken, and the memory’s of how they had betrayed his family could not be swallowed so he declined and when to the darkest places, he lost himself in smuglling work something he was well known for. He soon gained the reputation of a killer, word of his speed with with a gun and his temper spread through out the underground comunity. Job after job he took but he could not stop thinking about the past, and darkenss took him. Some say he helps where he’s need, some say he’s a stone cold killer. Maybe there is truth in both, but most know him now as a killer.

Eli stopped, “I think that’s enough for tonight, you should rest now.” he said taking a hit off his flask, “You have a big day tomorrow” he noted and leaned back in his chair.

Vash wasn’t sure why she did it. She certainly had no issues with anyone indulging in any vice, but she felt compelled beyond reason. She sat up swiftly (which wasn’t a great idea) and took the flask. She set it beside her and took his hands. She stared at him for a long time trying to make the words form. Her touch brought comfort and solace. “No mo…re dark…ness.”

Eli was shocked that she grabed his flask and stared at his hand for a few moments. He was about to protest and then the peace washed over him. He wanted to sit in it, it wasn’t something he felt anymore and he had felt it multi times in less the 24 hours. It made him uncomfortable in a way, it felt so unatural, she was going to kill her self if she was not carefull. “Please stop” was all he could muster, he really did not want her too, but it was better for her if she did.

Vash wanted to help him. She had given her word to Noril and Sisnil she would not influence them or their crew with her talents. She wasn’t sure this man was part of their crew, but better to keep her word. She slowly let her fingers drag away from him. She hoped it eased the transition, the return of his darkness. She watched him intently but with worry.

Finally she sighed, and settled back down, pulling the blanket up over her shoulders as she turned on her side and curled up.

Eli watched as she rolled over, and his lonlyness, anger, and sadness all settled back into place. He placed a hand on her shoulder, “Thank you,” he said, “It was nice to have some peace even for a moment, but your body is healing and you should not be over exerting yourself,” he said softly, his voice sincer and not without gradtitude. “Sleep now little bird, darkness and I have been friends along time.” She seemed like she was really concerned for him, which was odd, although no more odd than how he was feeling about her. Perhaps these were good people, if that were the case best he left them sooner than later.

She stared up at him, looking completely perplexed. He kept calling her the strangest names. She knew they were meant in a kind way, but she couldn’t figure out why he was doing it. It would have to be figured out later. Even if she wished to stay awake, her body was exhausted and she was sliding quickly into sleep.

She had eaten enough to avoid the tube tonight but he left the monintors on and set the bio bed alarm so she would not get out of bed without him knowing.

She slept for a handful of hours. She woke agitated, not remembering right away where she was and still not why. There was a burning pain in her shoulders that she slapped and clawed at, hiding the ports. That hurt and she groaned back the pain. But they hurt and she really wanted them out.

Eli startled awake at the groan, his eyes flickered and landed at her clawing at her shoulder.. “What’s going on? What are you feeling?” he asked looking at the monitors for any signs or issues. The second treatment now having had time to settle left her throat feeling pretty good, the pain inhibitor however made it hard for her to think out the words.

The monitors showed she was doing well, but there was a minor, normal irritation at the site of the ports. She pointed at them. “Hurt.... burn.” Unfortunately for her, it might be minor but it felt inflamed and infected to her overly sensitive nerves.

Looking at her stats, he pulled out some cream it would soften the tissue a little and take care of the inchy burning that was going on.. He serilized his hands and then rubed some aournd the edges of the port. “That should do it while I check on something” he said. Drawing a sample from the port he placed it in the analyzer, should should be stable enough to not need it anylonger. “Maybe we can take it out and the feeder ,but I need to check your blood first ok” he said

Vash nodded and clenched her fists before tucking them behind her back. She had to leave the ports alone. The cream was cool and eased the burn some but not enough. Not right away. It did start to ease a bit later.

Her white blood count and anti-bodies were down. Her body seemed to have decided to stop fighting itself. Her blood sugar was still lower than average but not dangerous anymore. She wasn’t fully rehydrated, but the fluids and water Eli had given her were making a huge difference at this point. She needed rest, food, water, and rest.

“That a girl,” he said more to her body than to her. “I think we can do what we need the old fashion way now” he said exposing the port and removing it, cleaned it and seeled it with the regnerator. He then did the same on the food ports as well. “Head back” he said his now cold hand examend her throat. “Might be able to take the bridge out, your a fast healer” he noted. As he stepped back he snagged the flask from her bed stand and put it on the counter out of her reach.

Vash had to concentrate not to scratch where the ports had been. They itched like crazy when he removed them. But it eased with the regenerator. She tipped her head back so he could look at her throat.

When he said she healed fast, her hand wrapped around his fore arm and she shook her head, ‘no’. She never healed fast. It took forever. Always, and it was always so painful.

He looked at here and then at what he was seeing. “It looks like things are healing fast” he noted. “But results lie sometimes”

He used the scanner to get a look at how the cartalige was doing, “I think if this checks out we should turn down the inhibitor a slowly to see if we can get you talking better, I’m sure you have questions.”

She had a lot of questions, but she was patient. Her throat looked better infinitely better, but it would take a few more days before it was completely healed.

He shook his head, “Well looks like the bridge is going to have to stay in for now, still some work to do now”, he patted her leg. “We’ll have you in the fields before you note little queen” he said sitting back down in the chair.

He looked at here serious this time, I have to take down the inhibitor to know how much pain your actually in so I know how to apply some of the settings, I’ll go slow ok” and reached back to start dialing it down.
