Go, it’s alright, Sisnil urged Vash. Noril knew. They always just knew each other. Noril squeezed her hand and walked with her.~ N, Captain
Vash walked with him out of the main room, with a gentle feeling of thanks toward Sisnil, and into Noril’s suite. With the door closed she stepped close to him wondering what he would do. Would he want to talk or would he kiss her again or want something totally unexpected?

Three days. It had been three days since her father had allowed the man to injure her. She was irate with him, but she was angry with herself. She had the skill and knowledge to prevent it, but she hadn’t. Obeying her father’s rules. Never again. She had known she was more ornamentation for her father, but she had thought he valued her as a child. Even if not as an heir. Well, never again. She had only herself to take care of herself. That’s why she asked her father to find her another place, another position. She would never entrust herself to anyone again.
She liked Noril and Sisnil. Her attraction to them hadn’t waned in three days. If anything it had gotten stronger. However, she was not naive enough to think they would truly choose her safety over anyone else. Time would tell how truthful it was. Of course that was if they even let her go with them. After that first kiss, Noril had become quite stand-offish. They had talked for hours after going to his room, and that was all. He was, as the humans would say, a true gentleman. He became hesitant and reserved after that. Sisnil was quite friendly and outgoing, though scary when he needed to be. She could tell they were talking telepathically about her, but she didn’t have the skill set to over hear unless they wanted her to.
Well, she would do whatever job they wanted, it didn’t matter to her, as long as she was allowed to keep her pay for herself. She needed off of Orion, and soon. The mutterings among the staff were not good. There were murmurings of using her to better their positions. She adored her father, but he needed to get things in order, and since she wouldn’t be allowed to help, it was better that she go.
But she couldn’t. 3 days and the treatments to heal her throat weren’t any faster. The weather had become overcast and there was very little sunlight for her to enjoy outside. Even if it was bright, it wouldn’t be enough. Her mixed heritage meant she needed food for sustainment and not just for culinary pleasure. She had a sunrise lamp, but she had already dismantled and sealed it up two days ago. She didn’t trust use anyone else’s or tell the doctors how weak she was. Too many plots for her to trust anyone.
She was weak, dehydrated, and she was certain her blood sugar was dangerously low. She’d spent a few hours the day before on the terrace outside the suit given to Sisnil and Noril, totally unclothed (to their shock), to soak up as much light as possible. It wasn’t enough though, and the current afternoon found her in bed, lethargic, and ill.

Noril was the one that came for her. Entering her room, he stood over her bed and poked her in the shoulder. You’re not well, he said, telepathically, with a look of concern. It wasn’t a question, it was a statement.

What did he want. That was rude, poking her like that. She wasn’t a piece of meat that he needed to check if it was done. She wanted to sleep until she was better, but she forced her eyes open anyway. Did he and Sisnil need something? She pulled herself upright, by pure stubborn grit alone.
She kept a hand on the post of the bed as her limbs shook. She opened her mouth to speak, but only pain issued forth rather than her voice. Right, no talking. She lifted a soft delicate hand to his upper arm. She was poised, elegant, sensual. The only indication that she was ill was in her eyes. And the shocking weakness that came through the empathic connection. I am alright. You never showed weakness in an Orion household. How may I serve you?

Noril lay a gentle hand on her shoulder, trying to ease her back down. You are not. There’s no sense in trying to lie to me. He said, giving her a look. I don’t need anything. I was worried.

The slight pressure almost made her wince, but she did sit, swaying as she did. It shouldn’t hurt, but it did. It was unforgivable she couldn’t get decent medical care. It was too much for her to try and explain. You can read it from my thoughts. It was all a bit jumbled of course, she was sick so it wasn’t laid out neatly. On top of being injured and unable to talk or eat, she was becoming malnutritioned. She couldn’t sustain on photosynthesis alone, she needed actual food. Telling the doctors would mean getting IV infusions, but not ones adjusted for her, but a normal Orion. Those would hurt her just as much. She needed better healing, but knew she wouldn’t get it.
Under all of that she was worried for him and Sisnil. She’d promised not to use her talents on them, but the sicker she got, the weaker and less control she would have.
