“A Source of news and you expect me to sit in my quarters?” the South African asked, “How about I do my job? I’ll stand in a quiet corner in ops, and I promise not to release any of the story until you have personally previewed and cleared it?”

Simon pondered, “At least if I’m in ops, you can keep an eye on me.”

Kate had been about to start encouraging him toward his quarters when he posed an argument that was, admittedly, a little reasonable. She bit her lip for a moment as she studied the reporter and then glanced at Chandel to see her thoughts on the matter. She didn’t particularly want a story to come out of whatever was going on in Ops and she could certainly confine him to his quarters with her own security access to the starbase, but… maybe a little sweetness would help with this… situation.

Trent, SOO

Chandel glanced back at Trent, uncertainty in her expression.” I am not sure what the Captain would think of that…I would think it would be wise to get his permission first.” She ventured.

Counselor Chandel

Braxton could be seen outside his office ushering civilians out of the Promenade to their designated areas. Seeing Counselor Chandel and Lieutenant Trent’s assistance helped ease his desire to jump right into their conversation.

Harris, CoS

Kate gave Harris a friendly smile when his movements prodding civilians around caught her eye. It was fortunate to know that he was nearby in the event that this situation with Simon ended up being more of a security issue. While she had a background in the field, it wasn’t her place or her desire to step on Harris’ toes on the starbase.

Trent, SOO

Kate nodded in agreement with Chandel. It was always better to send that kind of decision up the chain of command.
