“Yes you are,” Simon replied without hesitation. In truth he had no idea, but the Starfleet Press Office wouldn’t be able to supress the story if a request for compensation was made…
-Simon
Mord thought about this for some time. On one hand the promise of more money was hard to pass up but that probably meant that he would would have to stay on the Magellan for an extended period of time, and since he wasn’t actually harmed though, his rights weren’t explained to him, the effort could very well result in months of fees.
After considering Simon further he just grunted and turned back towards his ship, “I was probably just mistaken. I was rather drunk when I was taken to the Brig.”

Aaron happened to be making his rounds when he noticed Mord being harassed by someone. He wondered if this was the reporter that the Captain had been talking about.
Picking up his pace he came up towards the two. “Is everything okay here?”
LtCmdr Foley - XO
“Everything is fine here, commander,” Simon replied, “You are an elusive fellow aren’t you?”
-Jacobs
Overhearing the familiar voice of Foley, Kate wandered over to the small group. She hung back briefly, studying the interaction going on.
Lt Trent, SOO
“Elusive? I’d rather think that I was just buys at inopportune moments. Someone does have to run this station you know,” Aaron said with a smirk. “But you are always welcome to make an appointment with my office. “
LtCmdr Foley - XO
“So that someone would be you rather than the Captain?” Simon asked.
-Simon
Kate copied Foley’s smirk from her position slightly removed from the group. This was certainly an entertaining conversation. She couldn’t quite place the civilian, which annoyed her immensely.
Lt Trent, SOO
The hapless would be con took a step back as the journalist and the XO started having their discussion. A perfect moment to make a break for it.
One step back then two, eyes darted around nervously double and triple checking to make sure he wouldn’t get intercepted in his escape.

The movement from the steps quickly pulled Kate’s attention from the exchange between the journalist and the XO. Shifting her body slightly, she stepped to block the other individual’s escape, a pleasant smile on her face. “May I help you?”
Lt Trent, SOO
“Oh there is plenty of work for around here for all of us,” Aaron said. He noticed Kate standing to the side and nodded towards her. “Though if you are looking for work I’m sure we can help you find something.”
LtCmdr Foley - XO
“Where Ben Gillespie goes, my work is never far behind,” Simon replied. Seeing that Mord wished to leave, the journalist took out a small business card and held it out in the alien’s direction.
“Give our conversation some thought, Mr. Mord and let me know how you would like to proceed,”
-Simon
Mord took a step back and accepted the card before frowning. “No offense…” he looked down and read the card, “Mister Jacobs, but if I had my druthers I wouldn’t be coming back here anytime soon. I am sure any perceived, uh, oversight was on my part.”
He glanced at Trent and Foley before muttering something under his breath about needing to get off this station before anything worse happened.
