Mord was finally free, or at least had made his escape from enough of the crew of the Magellan that he felt he could leave more or less unhindered.

He approached his ship and started the normal paperwork processes to get loaded up and head out, hopefully to avoid any ramifications from Starfleet. They weren’t the Romulans after all.

GM Wombat

“Mr… Mord?” came the voice of the South African voice of the human reporter, “Rumour is that you had a run in with our CO. I can keep your identity anonymous, but I’d really appreciate it if anything was said or done that infringed on your rights.”

The big, and paranoid, man jumped when he was called out by name by the reporter. “My rights?” his eyes shifted back and forth scanning the room for any wayward officers that may have been lurking in the shadows waiting to pounce, reporting him to Security, and lengthening his time on the Magellan. “No I don’t think my rights were violated.”

A long silence paused from the oaf before he asked, “What are my rights anyway?”

Simon was genuinely surprised by the question, “Well one of the first things that should have happened was that they told you about them,” Simon replied, “Did they tell you that you could have a legal representitive there when they questioned you? Did they threaten to hurt you if you didn’t co-operate?”

The trader looked Simon up and down a moment before thinking about this for a long time, gears spinning in his head. “No I didn’t have a legal representative and they threatened to break my wrists if I didn’t tell the truth.” He glanced around the bay for a moment then back to his ship, licking his lips a moment, “Do you think I am entitled to any kinda… recompense for pain and suffering?”

“Yes you are,” Simon replied without hesitation. In truth he had no idea, but the Starfleet Press Office wouldn’t be able to supress the story if a request for compensation was made…

Mord thought about this for some time. On one hand the promise of more money was hard to pass up but that probably meant that he would would have to stay on the Magellan for an extended period of time, and since he wasn’t actually harmed though, his rights weren’t explained to him, the effort could very well result in months of fees.

After considering Simon further he just grunted and turned back towards his ship, “I was probably just mistaken. I was rather drunk when I was taken to the Brig.”
