Once she had been notified that he had returned to the Starbase and all was well with their previous mission, Kate followed up on her promise to Gillespie and retraced her steps back to where it felt like she had been so recently when she had reported in for duty. This time, instead of heading to the CO’s office, she detoured to the next office over and tapped the door chime, hoping that Foley was both in and available to chat for a few minutes.

Lt Trent, SOO

“Come in!” Aaron called from his desk. He had been using the time to catch up on the paperwork from their little adventure. Who knew that such a simple little task as catching someone trying to blackmail the Starbase could create so much paperwork. Not to mention that with recent changeover in CO’s, he was still pulling some extra paperwork while the new Captain caught up.

As the door woodshed open he pushed himself back from the desk. Paperwork was a necessary evil, and better to get it done right the first time, instead of having to file a revised report down the line. But he was still going to take advantage of the interruption for a small break. He grabbed his empty coffee cup as he stood him from his chair, and headed for the replicator.

“Can I get you something to drink while I’m up?” He asked as he stopped in front of the replicator, setting the used cup inside. “Coffee, cream, two sugars.”

“Coffee, cream, no sugars,” Kate simply responded, although her tone was amused. It wasn’t often that her beverage choice was a means of introduction. She stepped through the now opened doorway and surveyed Foley’s office for a few seconds before focusing her attention on him. “I’m Lieutenant Trent, the new SOO,” she commented as he procured the beverages. “You were… otherwise occupied… when I came aboard so I thought I’d take the quiet moment to introduce myself and check in with you.”

“Coffee, cream, no sugar,” Aaron repeated to the replicator. As he took the cup he headed over to Kate. As she looked around his office she would notice several pictures of different stellar phenomena on the walls, including a spectacular picture of a star that had recently gone supernova. He didn’t have many other decorations. Aaron was of the mind that this was a working space, and while some people liked to keep other knick knacks, or other mementos in their offices, he just found that they ended up causing more destruction then anything else.

“Completely understandable Lieutenant. I appreciate you making the time to come back to introduce yourself. Please have a seat,” he said as he handed her the coffee mug. “What do you think of the Starbase so far?”
