Kate smiled in what was almost a comforting manner at the CO. “I’ll keep my eyes and ears out and pass along anything you need to know,” she responded, her tone confident and competent. “I’ll be sure to check in with the XO upon his return as well. Is there anything else, Captain?” She began to rise, expecting that he wouldn’t have anything else for her and focused on getting started with her duties.

Kate smiled at Gillespie as she nodded an acknowledgment and made her way out of his office, off to the next stop on her reporting for duty tour. She made a mental note to check in with the XO once he returned from his mission. Perhaps he would have more information to offer on the going ons on the base.
