“Always happy to chat. In my line of work, we value the ability to multitask” he said with a smile, his eyes never leaving the canvas as the brush moved.

Dr. Woolley, Medical

“Always a useful skill.” Chandel said with a soft smile as she looked out the viewport. “This is my first placement on a Starbase and I am finding it quite an interesting venture. How long have you been here, Doctor?”

Counselor Chandel

The tip of his brush danced delicately along the outer edges of a vibrant nebula, adding subtle flashes of color. He didn’t respond right away, nor did his painting hand slow down. Then he spoke, making it clear he had been contemplating the question for a moment. “I believe it’s been two months or so, Counselor. The days have a tendency to run into one another. Sickbay keeps me plenty busy. How about you?”
He smiled slightly. He was clearly neither annoyed by his duty obligations nor with Chandel’s presence or line of questioning.

Dr. Woolley, Medical

“I am finding it fascinating actually. A totally different dynamic then a ship community. It almost feels as if one is planet side and this is a town or village rather then an installation. Well, until you look out a viewport.” She added with a laugh. “I am quite enjoying it actually.”

Counselor Chandel

“I’m a bit of a fan of ancient history. When I read about the port cities in various civilians through the ages it sort of reminds me of this starbase. This - ” he paused his painting to gesture to their surroundings with his brush. “Is the port city of our generation. It’s a hub where different cultures converse in ways that simply don’t happen in other places.” Max resumed his brushwork, gently feathering the outer edges of his nebula.

“And, of course, wherever you have a concentration of people like this. It ensures that neither of us will be out of work any time soon.”
