Mia looked around “We are.” She said “My husband has a series of these establishments, he left me in charge of this one while he is away.” She added thoughtfully. Mia turned her attention back to the discussion at hand “I am always available to you Lt as an extra pair of hands. I don’t want to give it completely up but my main focus will be the Blue Note.” She added.

Avalise nodded. “Well, I suspect we’ll always be grateful for the help when offered, but I get needing to take care of priorities.” She glanced off to where the kids had disappeared. “Besides, those kids of yours must take up a lot of time as well.”

“They are the center of our world.” She said “Mitizi misses her dad a lot.” Mia added “The twins are still too little to really miss anyone.” She added “I’ll let you get back to work and just let me know if you need me.” She said as she slid out of the booth and headed back to the bar.

“Okay,” Avalise said with a smile, taking the subtle hint. She probably touched on a difficult subject, but at the same time, the convo about work was over. “Thanks for the chat,” she said as she left the establishment, making a list of the things that Mia mentioned that she’d have to look into or follow up on.
