Avalise laughed, both out of amusement and a bit of bitterness. “I wish it were so easy, she said with a sigh. “I need to do it the right way, but I haven’t quite figured out what that might be. I just know that I don’t want innocent people to get hurt because I can’t let some details about my mother’s life go.” She frowned a bit. “You know, even saying it that way makes it all sound a bit pathetic, but all I know is it’s important to me.”

“It’s not pathetic, if something is important to you then you must do it. Others be damned, you have to be true to what you know.” she said softly, feeling the drinking kicking in as she held Avalise closely. “I would be glad to help if needed, you know how to find me… and if you bring wine we can always have more fun before I help you.”

Avalise laughed, feeling her body shake against Ashley’s. In their cozy position she was quite happy, but she knew she couldn’t stay- it just wasn’t her way. “Well, I appreciate the offer and will keep it in mind. But I should probably go. As nice as this is, I prefer not to overstay my welcome,” she said with a slight grin, though she was being serious.
