She snorted slightly. Exciting wouldn’t be the first word that came to mind. “I don’t know about exciting, but I’m settling in as best as possible. It’s a challenge compared to assisting on a ship, but I’m up for it,” Avalise remarked, gazing directly at the XO.

“Well I’m glad to hear that Lieutenant. I know Starfleet always likes to throw challenges at us, and we don’t have too much choice but to roll with it.”

Aaron took a step back, “Have you been on the Starbase for long?”

She shook her head. “No, not long at all. Just arrived a few couple months ago. Just long enough to get a feel for where things are at and to know that I’ve got my work cut out for me,” Avalise said with a lopsided grin.

“The Starbase have that many problems? I thought we were close enough to regular supply lines that we wouldn’t have an issue with getting supplies out here that we would need. I’d hope that Starfleet would have maintained this starbase a bit better if you are having that many issues.”
