Things carried on as usual and Rendana made a note in the log about the ship docking and carried on with her monitoring of the systems. She was mindful of what Mia said about keeping regular diagnostics on the computer systems and sensors.

When Mord’s ship docked there was a brief power surge. Nothing too unusual but notable.

It was more than enough to catch her attention, mostly because Avalise was still trying to figure out what was normal around here and what required further checking. It meant that she just looked deeper into everything. Running a diagnostic, she double-checked the systems attached to the surge site, looking for any damage or affected computer pathways.

When Rendana looks deeper she would see that the communications array of Mord’s little cargo ship sent a pulse to the station. It also drew down a large amount of energy for such a small vessel. Perhaps engineering would be able to tell more about what exactly the cause of the disturbance was, but the whole of the episode lasted a fraction of a second. Only careful examination of the logs, such as what the COO was doing, would even detect the fluctuation.

Avalise frowned. “What the…” she muttered. It didn’t seem like it had had a large affect, but it was more the why of it. “Computer, identify the recipient system on Mord’s ship of the power, and also indicate if any communications were transmitted and to where.” If it was all above board then the inquiry ended there. If not, well, things would get interesting.

Aaron was making the rounds, so far it had been a pretty slow day, pretty much what he had been expecting from a posting on a Starbase. As the doors opened he heard the Chiefs question to the computer.

“Everything okay Lieutenant?”
