Reilly hadn’t really settled in, but he didnt really care either. He decided he need to do the new XO thing and start making sure he and the DH’s on the ship were on the same page. Looking at the roster, he scowled at Petrov’s name. “Yeah… definately last.” he mumbled to himself.

Setting his schedule up, he sent out the meeting agenda. First up, the Chief Science Officer. He then did what he always did when in a new space and was alone… he swept for bugs.

Reilly, XO

A minute or so before the appointed time, Duncan arrived outside the XO’s door and paused slightly. The man stood straight, with a military bearing that was timeless to those that knew what to look for and announced his military school upbringing well before anything else did. His uniform was neat although he adjusted his cuffs slightly for no other reason than to make sure they were right. It wasn’t for the XO’s benefit, Duncan was a firm believer that if you looked the part of an Officer, it was a good start to actually acting like one.

He paused a moment as a random thought crossed his mind and the corner of his mouth curved in a grin for just a moment. He was old school, first job of the day was to make your bed and do it right. He did that religiously but Lily had other ideas, a well made bed was an instant invitation to jump on it. He had learned to adapt, overcome however. As long as he made the bed he could handle it being messed up 30 seconds later when Lily came cannonballing onto it from nowhere.

Finishing adjusting his cuffs, he pressed the chime and then checked the corridor.
