Lieutenant Alita Claire… she intrigued Reilly, more so than most on the ship. Obviously intelligent and capable of holding her own in situations, she had an energy… at least in her file… that seemed unique. Looking over her file, her meeting request was done directly, not via a calendar appointment. =^= Lieuteant Claire. Please come to the XO’s office when you can. Thank you. =^=

Reilly, XO

Five minutes later Alira rang the chime of the XO’s office. She was freshly dressed and showered form a workout and due to formally begin her shift in an hour. Ringing the chime, she waited, curious to speak with the XO.

• Alita, MO/COS

The door slid open and the new XO stood up from behind his desk and moved towards her. “Ah, Lieutenant. Thank you so much for coming by. I hope it wasnt too much of an interruption to your schedule. I’m Commander Jason Reilly.” and he extended his hand to her.

Reilly was of average height for a human, and had brown hair. His eyes were exceptionally green, though, and it intensified the alertness evident in them. He wore his uniform almost casually, as if he was still getting used to it.

“Do come in and have a seat, won’t you?” and he gesturing to one of a pair of chairs in front of his desk. Gesturing to the crates taking up much of the floor space, he said “Sorry for the state of things. Still settling in, as it were.”

Alita stepped in and shook the new XO’s hand warmly noting the handsome man’s green eyes. Her heart skipped a beat and she wondered ‘No, please no.’. Smiling about the crates, she nodded and sat down.

“I completely understand the whole unpacking situation. I think I still have a box from two transfers ago. I’m almost afraid to look in it. Pleased to meet you Commander.” she said pleasantly.

He smiled easily at her and took a seat after she did. “I think I threw away most of my boxes like that.” and he chuckled. “And again, thank you so much for coming. I know you are busy, and I don’t want to take up too much of your time. I am trying to meet, one on one with all the Command Staff. And I wanted to ask you what I, as Executive Officer, can do for you? Anything. I’m new, so now’s the time to ask for the things you keep being denied because, frankly, I don’t know that you don’t need it yet.” and he smiled again.

Alita returned his smile easily.

“Oh please, feel free to take up as much of my time as you like. Rank has it’s privileges after all, doesn’t it? Or maybe you’re still learning that. Honestly I can’t think of anything that we actually need. I want a Captain and First Officer who knows a little bit about every department and takes everything they have to say seriously but isn’t afraid to make the command decision. That’s something I never had to worry about with Remy.” Alita paused and smiled, “That is… Captain Boudreaux. Close quarters can breed familiarity, I’m sure you’re familiar with that.”

“How do you feel about welcome parties Commander? I am the ships defacto chef.” she said trying to divert attention from her slip up.
