“Died in the last alien raid… We found his body slumped over the stove, blood everywhere. Not sure if we got all the blood out of the equipment in fact.”

Alita sat down and feigned disappointment and indicated that she would have the same drink as Cel.

“Eh, you win some you lose some. Tell me about these aliens. Sometimes I don’t think space is as empty as people want you to think it is.” she said.

Alita, MO/COS

“They came out like demons out of thin air. Don’t know where they appeared from. But this station doesn’t do much for defenses anyway, so raiders are common… except these gave without any particular warning. I’d say half of the people escaped, and the other were caught off-guard, like our cook. I was fortunate… I was on vacation when it happened,” said the bartender, “So I only heard accounts from second hand.”

Alita wondered where they could get some first hand accounts.

“That must have been a fortuitous time for a vacation and terrifying for you cook. Were they after anything specific?” she asked with genuine interest.

Alita, MO/COS

“Nope. Everything that was of value – weapons, resources, cargo and the like was stolen. Anything too common and too bulky was left behind. Starbase was practically picked clean – there wasn’t much of a Starbase to come back to after that. About the only thing that they did was leave the Starbase functional… almost. Are you ready to order or did you want something to go?” asked the waiter.

“Since we are new to this area, should we be worried?” Celador asked, following up on the question that Alita asked.

-Cel

“Yeah. It’s common for this region for random outposts, starbases and colonies to be raided… about the only places that are safe are well-established homeworlds with decent military defenses – well, almost.”

“Almost?” Aheran asked.

Ahearn, CSO

OCC: I think you are in the other group.

OOC: I’ll allow the question, but go ahead and substitute if needed…

IC:

“What do you mean by almost?” Cel asked curious.

“The raiders all appear out of thin air. Rumors of demons that attack without warning and overwhelm defenses. Tracking them is impossible,” said the waiter, “Only recent years, several species have begun to ban together to be more weary and watchful.”

“Seems like a good move to make tactically, strength in numbers. I personally doubt that these demons just appear out of thin air. There has to be a reason, some technology or something that is just not understood. Either way, being profitable is going to be difficult without protection for our trading vessels.”

OOC: If you’re on the verge of getting info, I’d say finish that out (just continue above my post), unless our GM doesn’t is trying to move things along ;)

=^=Roger that Wolverine.=^= Celador replied then turned to Alita. “Maybe I should stay here and gather some more information. You can come back and get me later?” He offered. He didn’t see any risk in staying at the moment. It would give him more time to gather information.

Alita shook her head firmly.

“Out of the question, sorry. Time to go.” she said with a little smile waiting for Cel to accompany her off the station.

“Thank you for your patronage. Please come again,” said the waiter.

Celador nodded. “Thank you.” He turned to go when he heard the alarms going off.

“Oh this can’t be good.” He said looking around.
