Reilly walked into Sickbay and stood to the side of the door. He watched as the staff went about their duties and nodded once. They seemed to be doing well, but then again he was no medical expert. So he simply leaned against the bulkhead and waited for a spot to open up in the hustle and bustle.

OCC: I am putting this at the top so do not snip it out. I am not sure what is going on right now with Noah but like all of us life is topsy turvey. I am going to reply but for the record, when Noah come back I fully expect him to kick me out of the scene or if you would rather wait just let me know and I will not reply. It’s all good in the hood. ~ Kate

OOC: I’m not sure about timing of our various arrivals but it seems that nobody else is around so I’ll take this.

Noah stood up from one of the cabinets where he had been helping a nurse arrange medical supplies. He smoothed out his uniform and then turned around to do something else, stopping short with surprise as he has the commander leaning against the bulkhead. He glanced around to see if any of the other doctors were around, but he appeared to be the only one. With a tentative smile he approached the senior officer.

“Hello Commander, I’m Dr. Astor, is there something I can help you with?”

Reilly smiled a friendly smile and said “Heya, Doc. I need to get my boarding physical knocked out. Think you can help me out with that?” he asked without introducing himself.

Noah nodded back and gestured to one of the empty biobeds.

“Of course, sir, if you wouldn’t mind having a seat over there. Let me grab a few things and I’ll be right back with you.”

He turned away and quickly rounded up a medical tricorder and a PADD. While this was seemingly a routine boarding physical, Noah found himself a little excited about it. Being new on the ship himself he hadn’t met many of the crew and sometimes, barring the odd medical away mission, physicals were the only way Sickbay got to interact with a lot of his ship mates. With tools in hand he made his way back over to the commander.

“Alright, I’ll need to pull up your medical file, so may I have your name?” he asked as he tapped a few commands into the PADD to access the medical files of the crew.

Reilly smiled and said “Reilly comma Jason. No middle initial. Commander. Arrived yesterday.” and he looked around as if taking in the sickbay and its array of equipment, when in reality he was watching the young doctor to see how he would react. It always fascinated and amused Reilly how people would get flustered when suddenly in the presence of Command officers. He just didnt get it. “We all started off somewhere, right?” he thought to himself.

“Well no way,” Lily said coming out from her office. “Were you trying to sneak in and out before I got to say hi,” she tuck a loose strand of hair behind her ear. “Lily, Lily Locksley but not of the Robin variety although there have been a few that say it.”

“You are here for the check-in right?” she looked at the XO and Astor not caring who would reply.

“Okay last question,” she crossed her arms over her chest staring at him with a half-grin on her face. “You aren’t one of those big bad tough guys in a bar on Friday nights but scared of a hundred and twenty-pound girl with a pair of rubber gloves and a hypo are you?”

Lily Locksley.

Reilly looked at Locksley and smiled. “Why, no. No I am not. I try to steer clear of bar fights… might damage my money-maker.” and he framed his face with his hands and then laughed a bit.

“So you are the cautious type,” she winked at him. “I will make a note of that. Hop on up to my table,” she patted the biobed next to her. LIly instantly liked the XO. He had a sense of humor and anyone with a sense of humor, Lily found she could trust them.

“So. Ensign Lily Locksley. Of the Malibu Locksley’s, I believe.” and he effected a comical slight bow. “Currently acting Chief Medical Officer of the ship, and wife of the newly arrived Chief Science Officer.” and he extended his hand. “Commander Jason Reilly, at your service.”

“Oh…Oh, I am not Duncan’s wife…yet. You will get an invitation to the event,” she laughed taking his hand. “And I am more of the Robin division but I did teach in Malibu like a hundred years ago,” Lily added. “Besides I am at your service right now. So anything out of the ordinary,” she asked starting the scan of his body.

“Other than the small void in my soul where love should be, I think I’m ok.” he replied. “No changes, no illnesses or injuries since last physical.”

“Well, that is good but cuts down on the time we get to know each other. So before I set you loose and sign this paper you need to tell me one thing fun and interesting about you. It creates a trust and familiarity between doctor and patient so when you are coming in here with some mortal wound you will have full trust in me to fix you. Now hit me with something fun,” Lily hopped up on the biobed setting the PaDD next to her.

Reilly flashed her a brilliant smile and said “Well, that trust should go both ways. As your Executive Officer, you need to trust me as well. So I’ll go first, but then you have to do the same.” and he paused and thought for a moment. “Ok. I am fluent in seven languages, including Klingon, Ferengi, and Andorian. Ok, Doc. Your turn.”

Lily hopped up on the table with a smile letting her legs dangle over the edge. She crossed her ankles letting them swing casually as she leaned forward excitedly. “Herbal brownies chenmoH jIH,” she bit her lip looking hopefully at the XO. Lily wasn’t trying to show off or test the XO. It was more to bond with him. So few people spoke Klingon fluently and even fewer liked to sit and chat using it especially Klingons.
