“I don’t know why I decided against using the transporter for this…” Commander Erin said as he staggered into Sickbay carrying a large crate of supplies. Bryson remembered to lift with his legs and placed the crate up on the nearest biobed.“Because you were trying to strain your extensors, gluteals, or iliopsoas just to get a quiet moment with me,” Lily said casually leaning against one of the far walls. She had seen the Ops manager out and about a few times but never actually sat down with the man. She had heard he was married but his wife and son were back on Earth. She thought London but after a while, things blended in her mind. She thought that there was a rumor his wife showed up once but when another ensign at the table said that they did not speak of the great hide and seek game on the snow planet, the rest of the table nodded solemnly in agreement. This let Lily’s mind race. What did Emily do? Sneak on the ship our of nowhere, dress up in a snowsuit and pop out of an ice cave saying honey I am home. Lily had a huge imagination and this was probably just another one of those instances.
“Ensign Locksley?!” The Operations Chief called out, hoping to meet with the Chief Medical Officer, who was the one supposed to sign off on these medical supplies.
Erin
Operations Chief“In the flesh,” she replied pulling off a rubber glove that made an unholy snapping sound that might make elderly women blush not knowing where it came from. It was just her removing them due to finishing up testing some lab cultures. Tossing them into the biomedical replicator she walked up to Bryson and extended her hand. “Nice to meet you.”
Lily Locksley
Bryson shuttered internally at the sight and sound of the CMO removing her gloves. “I’m not too familiar with the muscular system, so excuse my ignorance.” Commander Erin replied as he returned the handshake. The Operations Officer didn’t realize how short the woman would be and wondered how she’d protect herself in hand to hand combat, maybe Lily was some synth since it was hard to tell these days.
“I thought I’d drop off the extra hyposprays and medical tricorders since I was in the area,” Bryson said and gestured at the crate. Lily could hypothesize that since the ship only comprised of 7 decks, that everywhere was ‘in the area’, and maybe the Commander was there for another reason.
“Tell me Ensign, do your gloves always snap when you remove them?” The Commander asked, trying to hold back a chuckle.
Erin
Operations“Only to test your fortitude,” she laughed realizing just how tall the man was compared to her. “You have no idea how people are scared of a hypo,” she teased him. “So Mr. Bryson, did you come down because you were happy to meet me or something else. I mean I have no problem taking gifts,” she gestured at the box, “but I could have sent a corman to pick it up.”
Assuming he was here for a purpose that didn’t involve a scalpel or hypo, Lily defaulted to hospitality. “Can I get you something? Coffee…tea,” she let her voice trail off.
Lily Locksley, CMO
Bryson laughed and walked over to the replicator. “Too much caffeine and I’ll be hopping all over the Wolverine.” Commander Erin replied.
“Orange juice, low pulp,” Bryson said to the replicator. The Operations Manager watched the beverage appear on the tray, then picked it up and returned to face the Doctor. “I find it intriguing how we thought this beverage would boost our immune system some few hundred years ago.” He said as he took a sip. Bryson cleared his throat to loosen the pulp and continued, “But yet studies showed the sugar contents pretty much canceled out the benefits the drink did have…”
“Unless you give it a kick,” she laughed with a big smile. “I find mimosas and screwdrivers do wonders and are a benefit to orange juice when used in moderation of course.”
In another gulp, the drink was gone and the Commander placed the empty glass back onto the replicator tray for recycling. “Tell me, Ensign, we just met and I didn’t tell you my name so just how much of my file did you read?” Bryson internally grumbled hoping that Emily didn’t have anything atrocious added to his personnel file.
Erin
Operations“Oh I didn’t read your file,” Lily looked at him slightly shocked. “I mean I did and you are perfectly healthy but not like I am so crazy galactic stalker read your file,” she leaned against a biobed. “The crew filled me in mostly at lunches and happy hours. The Wolverine is not a mythology city. It is more like a cozy small town,” she mused. “Besides its all good stuff unless you want to talk to me about something and trust me I do know discretion when its needed.”

Bryson felt as if he needed a screwdriver at that point. “I guess news on this ship travels at warp speed.” Commander Erin shrugged. He had been almost certain that his past had been left behind him when Emily left the ship, but with having a child and all it seemed the past will always be in the present and future.
“Tell me, do you have children?” Bryson asked. The Operations Manager glanced over at the replicator and contemplated if he should have that drink or not.
