“I suggest this thing moved with purpose across this ship. Lets stop looking for a mechanical issue and start looking for an intruder.” Petrov said. It had occurred to him that “Maybe something wanted the toy or had a tie to the toy and disrupted power systems as it moved. Something undetectable at this point.”

Petrov CE

“We have an intruder?” Duncan asked in his clipped, English accent as the doors to the shuttle bay slid closed behind him. Pausing just on the inside, he nodded at those present before making his way towards the group. “Nothing is undetectable if you know how or where to look, what are you suggesting Mr Petrov?”

Lt Rhodes, CSO

“I am suggesting that it is possible that we are not looking at some system malfunction but rather a force moving in a purposeful manner. It is unlikely that the affected systems would have failed in the manner they failed. Less so that they would lead us back to where we began. If this was a controlled power loss we would not see a roadmap back to the shuttle bay and then a loss of the small power field around the toys containment field. Which begs to answer why would you need a containment field around a toy?”

Petrov CE

“Sorry to interrupt, sir, but there is a registered power loss starting from the shuttle bay, back to the Ensign’s quarters and back. However, the initial power loss was less than normal detectable levels,” said an NE, “It was only at the Ensign’s quarters, did the power loss register greater than normal, which signaled an alert.”

Reilly looked at Petriv and said “That answer your question, Mr. Petrov?”

Remy began to pace back and forth, and stroke his goatee. “So, if I were to ‘splain, no, sum up what we ‘ave going on an’ what we know. . . de ensign an’ I were takine de shuttle to Risa. Some’ow, a short transporter burst put dat toy on de shuttle.” He looked to the others for confirmation.

“De toy caused de power outage an’ de shuttle crashed. Fortunately, no one was injured. After we were rescued, de shuttle is brought back up-diagnostics show notine is wrong wit’ de shuttle, but de car is found, which no one pays much atten-SHON to.”

“Another ensign takes de car back to his quarters, power outages are recorded dere, ‘e comes back to de shuttle bay and outages are recorded ‘ere, ‘gain.”

OOC: This is for myself just as much as a summation. Want to make sure I have everything straight. If I missed something or misquoted, someone please, speak up.!)

IC:”Obviously, de car is some’ow responsible for de power failures, but, someone ‘AD to send it to de shuttle. De ques-SHON is who an’ fo’ what reason. Was it coincidence dat I was on de shuttle, or de ensign. I ‘ave made plenty of enemies in my life, but. . . .”

“I wan’ dat car broken down to its’ base components if need be to trace where it came from. I wan’ dat transport signal traced back to its’ source as well. I ‘ave fait dat you will be able to found out who and where.”

Petrov was going to say something but did not. Didn’t he just report to the man that the toy had been analyzed and it was just what it was.

Before everyone dispersed, the Captain picked up the car and stared at it intently, turning over and lookin at it from every angle. When he was looking at the front again, he spoke directly to the car. “Where did you come from?” (testing a theory, it doesn’t reply does it? Or tell me its’ name is K.I.T.T?)

OOC: Well, you got it right that it is K.I.T.T. or a model of K.I.T.T. at least.

IC:

The car did not respond. Three possibilities: it wasn’t the real thing or because it wasn’t going to or the Captain wasn’t an authorized user.

Reilly looked at the Captain and said “Well, I would suggest that both Science and Engineering put their heads together and see if there is anything more to the car than the initial scans. And we’ll see if we can get a fix on the micro-transporter signal, but that may be a long shot, sir. “

Remy turned to the ensign that had taken the car to his quarters. “Ensign Knight, did you notice anytine ‘bout de car when you ‘ad posse-SHON of it? In you’ quarters? Did you notice anytine at de time of de power outage?”

“No sir. Just that the front light sweeping from left to right and back was interesting,”

“You don’ mind if security searches you’ quarters for any oder. . . anomolies?”

“I do not mind, Captain.”

Mikel was heading to the door when he stopped to see what the Ensign would say.

Reilly looked at Petrov and Rhodes. “You heard the man. Let’s get that thing secured and isolated, then you two work together on figuring out what it is. Let the Skipper and I know as soon as you have something. Thank you, gentlemen.” and he looked at Boudreaux. In a lower voice, he said “We should probably compare all reported power fluctuations since the retrieval of your shuttle, sir. Just to make sure nothing else has fone awry.”
