“Let’s do it.” He replied enthusiastically, moving over to stand close to her. “Lets get one of the cliffside, then another one with our gear ready to start our decent.” he suggested.

-Cel

Cel’s enthusiasm was catchy and it made Alita smile and turned her thoughts a bit lighter. Life had been far too heavy lately.

She quickly programmed the tiny drone before setting it aloft and changing positions slightly next to Cel.

“Oh I like your attitude. This is going to be fun. Holodecks are great but I really don’t think anything beats fresh air.”

  • Alita

“Your right,” He said looking around again, taking it all in. This was his first time out in a real, none military environment in decades. He was going to enjoy every minute of it.

“Come let’s get a little closer.” he said confidently as he put his arm around her. He stood up tall, ready for the picture.

-Cel

Alita stepped in and settled close to Cel. This was just another strange sensation in her life. They had come fast and furious ever since she stepped onto the Wolverine, why should this be any different?

Turning her head slightly, she smiled up at Cel as the tiny drone zipped around them and snapped several tiny pictures.

“I can control this manually or vocally. It was a present from my sister believe it or not. She’s not the sentimental type so, anyway, let’s take on that cave.” she said with a smile.

  • Alita

“Lets do it.” He said, putting on his helmet and turning on the light. He wasn’t sure how this adventure might do the their relationship. Would it change after this? Was he ready for it to change. He didn’t know. He frowned slightly at the thought before dismissing it. What about the age difference? He was in the academy before she was born. What if things got serious?

‘Will you stop thinking about this and get started. I want to see what happens in the cave.’ Squared stated.

‘Oh shut up.’ Cel thought back to Squared as he approached the cave.

The drone detected something unusual. In the dim light of the cave, a circular object reflected from the light of the drone. Upon flying the drone closer, they would discover a silver coin with a bat imprinted on it.

GM

“What was that?” He asked when he heard the drone beep. His thoughts turning out ward again.

-Cel

Alita had followed, a few steps behind Cel, into the cave and stopped when she heard the drone beep.

“Um, I have no idea. Let’s go look. Shiny whatever it is.”

She had let Cel stay in the lead. This adventure was his idea after all, so it only seemed fitting.

Manipulating the drone, she sent it a bit further down the cave before circling back to it’s rest position above her left shoulder.

  • Alita

“Lets take a look.” He said as he started to climb into the cave. After a few moments he found the coin. He turned to look back to Alita. “It’s a silver coin with a bat insignia on it.” He said in a rather curious tone to his voice. “What’s it doing here? I didn’t think Risa had any buried treasure.” He continued, shifting his weight as best he could so he could hand the coin to Alita.

-Cel

Cel felt a little weird… if he knew what the feeling was, it would be best described as intoxication. But with the invention of synthehol , intoxication a rarer experience for those who didn’t actually drink the real stuff. Cel nearly dropped the coin out of his hand, but managed to pass it to Alita. As soon as the coin left his hand, he felt normal again.

GM

Cel’s odd behavior didn’t exactly track with Alita as something to be concerned about. She could think of half a dozen places in her quarters where a bottle of real alcohol sat waiting to be opened. Perhaps there was more Boudreaux in her than she realized. But had Cel been drinking before they left? The thought seemed unlikely to her as she reached out and took the coin from him.

“Hmmm. I don’t know anything about Risa’s history other than what’s already very well known I mean. What an odd little coin. Would you like me to hold on to it?” she asked.

  • Alita

He handed the coin to Alita, but it took effort to do so. He hadn’t been drunk in decades and wasn’t use to the effect. He slide a little bit uncontrollably before he was able to hand off the coin.

As Alita held the coin, she then began to feel the effects of an alcoholic state. They increased slowly as she held to the coin.

GM

He shook his head, like trying to remove the cobwebs as he let go of the coin.

“That was strange.” He said, looking at Alita.

-Cel

Alita began to experience the strange sensations herself and her first instinct was to drop the coin.

“Damn. Sorry, sorry… Any idea what that was all about?” Alita asked as she rummaged in a hip pouch for her tricorder.

  • Alita

The coin fumbled out of her hand, and bounced off its original position, and dove deep into the cave. The instant the coin left her, Alita felt better and was able to reach for her tricorder. Her tricorder did not indicate anything unusual with either person, and no trace of alcohol in either person.

GM

Alita wondered if Cel would have them go after the coin. It seemed as good a reason as any for an adventure.

“Okay, that was bizarre but the tricorder isn’t showing anything abnormal for either one of us. Let me send the drone down to take a look at the cave before we decide how far this thing is worth chasing.” she said to Cel as she programmed the drone.

  • Alita

The route shown to be quite a workout, moderately challenging but the drone showed a large cavern below. There was no sign of the coin, however. The cavern looked very pretty as light reflected from the water down into the cavern. There were deeper tunnels leading away from the cavern, which the probe could see with its capabilities. The light was dim, so any additional light the drone was producing would show that it was safe, and the cavern walls were smooth, worn by water over time. There was no evidence that the cave had experienced a flood, nor any water marks.

GM

GM

Cel pulled himself out of the cave and looked at the drone display. “Interesting, I’m game to go in there and explore if you are.” He said, turning to look at Alita.

-Cel

Alita smiled.

“Well isn’t that kind of what we’re here for? Please, lead on.”

Alita was used to being the boss but didn’t want to be in that role at this time. The trip was Cel’s idea and she was perfectly willing to let him take the lead.

  • Alita

Cel pulled a rope out of his pack and attached it to his belt. He then handed the other end to Alita.

“Lets stay attached, just in case.” He suggested to Alita.

He turned on his head lamp and started to make his way into the cave. He took a slow approach, taking his time, enjoying the exploration.

-Cel

Alita attached the other end of the rope to her belt, turned on her headlamp, and began to follow. She appreciated Cels slow take on the situation and found the cave itself to be quite lovely.

  • Alita

OOC: There’s going to be no input from me on this thread until perhaps you start looking for that coin again… or not.

GM

Celador continued slowing into the cave, exploring, but also keeping an eye out for that coin. He remembered the effects it had on him, which, in addition to the exploration of the cave, made him even more curious.

“Did you feel drunk when you handled coin?” He asked Alita as they continued on.

-Cel

“Tranqued. Yeah. That or like I had been drinking too much.” Alita paused.

She was about to say drinking to much with Remy again but decided not to.

“Good bourbon or something like that.”
