“Let’s do it.” He replied enthusiastically, moving over to stand close to her. “Lets get one of the cliffside, then another one with our gear ready to start our decent.” he suggested.

Cel’s enthusiasm was catchy and it made Alita smile and turned her thoughts a bit lighter. Life had been far too heavy lately.

She quickly programmed the tiny drone before setting it aloft and changing positions slightly next to Cel.

“Oh I like your attitude. This is going to be fun. Holodecks are great but I really don’t think anything beats fresh air.”

“Your right,” He said looking around again, taking it all in. This was his first time out in a real, none military environment in decades. He was going to enjoy every minute of it.

“Come let’s get a little closer.” he said confidently as he put his arm around her. He stood up tall, ready for the picture.

Alita stepped in and settled close to Cel. This was just another strange sensation in her life. They had come fast and furious ever since she stepped onto the Wolverine, why should this be any different?

Turning her head slightly, she smiled up at Cel as the tiny drone zipped around them and snapped several tiny pictures.

“I can control this manually or vocally. It was a present from my sister believe it or not. She’s not the sentimental type so, anyway, let’s take on that cave.” she said with a smile.

“Lets do it.” He said, putting on his helmet and turning on the light. He wasn’t sure how this adventure might do the their relationship. Would it change after this? Was he ready for it to change. He didn’t know. He frowned slightly at the thought before dismissing it. What about the age difference? He was in the academy before she was born. What if things got serious?

‘Will you stop thinking about this and get started. I want to see what happens in the cave.’ Squared stated.

‘Oh shut up.’ Cel thought back to Squared as he approached the cave.

The drone detected something unusual. In the dim light of the cave, a circular object reflected from the light of the drone. Upon flying the drone closer, they would discover a silver coin with a bat imprinted on it.

“What was that?” He asked when he heard the drone beep. His thoughts turning out ward again.

Alita had followed, a few steps behind Cel, into the cave and stopped when she heard the drone beep.

“Um, I have no idea. Let’s go look. Shiny whatever it is.”

She had let Cel stay in the lead. This adventure was his idea after all, so it only seemed fitting.

Manipulating the drone, she sent it a bit further down the cave before circling back to it’s rest position above her left shoulder.
