OOC: Welp back from one LOA and jumping in another. I’ll post this to start us off.IC: Bryson knew what had to be done. His career had destroyed his family and ended his marriage, which eventually caused him to lose his captaincy. The XO wasn’t going to allow his newfound complacency as First Officer, knowing he’ll never Captain a ship again, grew on him. Commander Erin slipped off his command red uniform and jumped into his newly made operations yellow uniform. By doing this, Bryson knew he didn’t give Remy any choice of what was coming next.
The XO was getting weird glances as he made his way to the turbolift, and a few officers and crewmen looked like they wanted to say something. The decision Bryson made was final and it was someone else’s turn to assist the CO with running the ship.
“Bridge.” Commander Erin murmured once he stepped onto the lift. “I’m sure Petrov would find this thrilling....” Bryson said to himself as the turbolift carried him the short distance from his quarters to the Bridge. Once the lift stopped, the Commander stepped out and looked around. Good Bryson thought once he saw a lonely Ensign manning the science station. No audience.
Swiftly but professionally, the XO walked across the Bridge to the Ready Room and pressed the chime.
Erin
“Come,” was the reply Bryson would hear from the other side of the door.
Remy looked up from a Padd as his XO entered. He didi a double take as he noticed Bryson wearing the gold. “No clean uniforms, Bryson? De yeoman mus’ be slackine.”
Boudreaux (CO)
Bryson shook his head and laughed. “I think we both know I’m not going anywhere as Exec.” The Commander said as the door closed behind him. “I’ve done that before on the Saracen and then on the Olympic as its CO… just thought it would be best to step aside and let someone else take a step up.” Commander Erin produced a PaDD from his back pocket, slide it over to Remy, and sat down.
Remy looked at the Padd and his smile disappeared. After quickly reading it a second time, he looked up at his now former XO, his lips in a grim, thin line.
“Now I have no intentions on leaving.” Bryson said. “I mean, who else could save the ship from a horde of zombies..” He added, bringing up past events in their lives. “I’ll step into Operations full time and help Petrov get this ship in top shape.”
Erin
OPSThe smile slowly returned to his eyes as he chuckled softly. “Zombies. . . only you an’ I, mon frer, only you an’ I. We ‘ad some good times on de Saracen, no?”
“Well besides me getting dragged down the corridor by that ghost…” Bryson chuckled. “It was a fun ride…”
He signed the Padd and made a copy for his files and a copy to send to Command. after handing it back to the new permanent Chief of Ops, Remy pulled out the ever present bottle of bourbon from his desk and filled two glasses. He stood and raised his glass. “I am glad you at least decided to stay on. To new adventures, mon ami.”
Boudreaux (CO)
Bryson raised his glass and shot it back. “This comes with a plus.... I’ll be able to work more with Petrov and hopefully calm down his ways.” Commander Erin stated. Bryson knew the change would be somewhat difficult at first, since he spent the last 5 years on the Command track but he knew he’d get through it.

Remy chuckled. “You should ‘ave men-SHONED dat in de first place. It would ‘ave been a much better reason for steppine down, no?”
The CO held the bottle up to offer Bryson another drink. “‘Opefully, Command will let me ‘ave a say in gettine a new XO, instead of assignine one to de ship. Wit’ you, I at least knew what baggage you were carrying.”
