Posted by… suppressed (18) by the Post Ghost! 👻Remy let out a hooler, “Wooooooo, what a ride!!” His eyes went from person to person on the bridge gauging the various shades of green. He was surre he also had a shade of his own, but let his words convey his sense of confidence. “Dat was fun, no?”
Alita suspected she wouldn’t be cooking with tofu for some time. Perhaps she would have liked being a cat as long as she was in her own body. Luckily she was still Human.
- Alita
Mikel stifled down a vomit, almost fell to his knees but managed to hold onto a console. The feeling of being yard and everything else was not passing as fast as he wanted it too.
“Can we confirm its the Bepi 113 system, our time etc..?” He said to Wells rather weakly.
Petrov CE
OOC: Oops, forgot about the time difference… Going to correct the posts above.
IC:
“Unfortunately, Mr. Petrov, we still need to execute the slingshot maneuver to return to our own time. This why we are at Bepi 113, a classified star system that can be used to execute the slingshot maneuver perfectly. The calculations have been entered into the helmswoman’s console whenever you have confirmed all systems are green, Mr. Petrov,” said Wells, also a bit weakly, “Perhaps green wasn’t the best word choice.”
GM
“We are good.” Was all Mikel could get out as he felt queasy again.

Wells nodded to the helms woman who gave up her seat for the Commander. She sat down, and had the ship move towards the star. “Raising shields to maximum, engaging impulse engines.”
The ship went barreling towards the star of Bapi 113. As they came about the star, Wells announced, “Engaging warp engines, in 3, 2, 1…”
The ship traveled through time and when Wells deemed it appropriate, disengaged warp. “Computer, calculate stellar matter distance to the galactic core and confirm current Stardate.”
The computer confirmed the Stardate on the day they left, only a day after they had left. Wells got up, had the helms woman return to her seat. “I believe we can set a course for Earth now,” suggested Wells.
GM
“Make it so, ‘elm.”
Remy turned to Wells. “I assume, Commander dat you will want to run some diagnostics on de experimental drive, but I believe it funtioned pretty much as it was supposed to. I will be ‘appy to report to Command de success ful use of de drive, but dere are still a few bugs to work out?”
Boudreaux (CO)
“Success?” Petrov mumbled audibly. It was intended to remind the Captain that things had not gone well and the relative value of the whole mission was questionable to him and probably to a few others.
Petrov CE
“Questionable at best, Captain,” replied Wells.
Alita glared at Remy. He had absolutely no idea what she had been through internally and psychologically. The mission was not a success in her opinion.
- Alita, MO/COS
Commander Erin stretched and walked over to Alita. “Here’s the back up data to everything we received during the mission, keep it in good hands.” The XO had only intended on storing it in case something happened to the ship. Since they arrived in one piece, there really wasn’t a need for a back up.
XO
Alita nodded at the Commander and tucked everything away neatly intending to do just as he had asked.
Now would be the time for her to suggest some feast or other on the holodeck but her heart just wasn’t in it.
- Alita, MO/COS
Mikel had every intention of getting away for shore leave and requesting a transfer to a ship worthy of his skills. He had clearly shown he was the brightest crew member on the ship.
Petrov CE
Remy opened a ship wide comm. He wanted the whole crew to hear what he had to say. . .
“Atten-SHON, all personnel, lemme remin’ you of what de mis-SHON was–to gadder as much informa-SHON on de Underspace as was possible. We did dat. We succeeded wit’ no caualties. “
He stood from the center seat and began pacing around the bridge, making eye contact with every officer there, one at a time, as he continued.
” Oui, dere were some bumps along de way, bu’ our mis-SHON parameters are going to put us in dangerous situa-SHONS at least 90% of de time. Dat is why, for de most part, I ‘and-picked many of you to serve on de Wolverine–because you are de best at what you do, but sometimes what you do is no’ so nice. We live and serve Starfleet, and because we do, we agreed to put our lives on de line for de safety an’ protect-SHON of de Federation.”
“For some of you, it was a chance for act-SHON and adventure, livine on de edge. For some, it was a chance for redemp-SHON, a chance to make tines right, for sometine you had done in de past. And for others,” he locked eyes with Erin, “it was for friendship and loyalty. We are a small crew of 70 people. I need to know dat I can trust each and every one of you to perform your duties to de ultimate capacity. In return, I ask dat you, all of you, trust me and my deci-SHONS as to what I feel is best for our survival and success. Merci.”
He cut the comm and sat back down in his chair. . .
=/\= EDDIE to Captain Boudreaux, Commander Erin, Commander Wells, Lt. Petrov! I am happy to report that the drive has been fused to the ship. Any attempt to remove the drive may result in permanent structural damage to the ship or possibly cause molecular instability to the drive resulting in a catastrophic explosion. All simulation results yield negative answers on removing the drive completely from the ship. =/\=
Wells uncharacteristically groaned at EDDIE’s response.
GM
From the center seat, Remy did a facepalm. . . .”Sérieusement?”
Alita knew she couldn’t voice her thoughts out loud. She was an officer and a lady. Nor could she walk off the bridge like she had half a mind to. It would definitely be time for a run on the holodeck soon.
- Alita, MO/COS
Celador entered the bridge at that moment to relieve the aft security station. He heard what EDDIE’s response was. He portrayed no emotion as he took his station and got the relief brief, but he silently shared the groan from Wells.
-Cel
“Fused to my engines?” Mikel blurted out. “That thing masquerading as a engine is fused to the engines? I told you we should not have done it. Well that is successful isn’t it.”
Mikel shot a glance at the Captain. Combined with his remark it was insubordinate but he could care less.
Petrov CE
“I believe EDDIE said fused to the ship. Theoretically, it would be possible to cut out the drive, but you would have to cut through several decks around the drive to do so.”
“It looks like you may be wit’ us a bit longer dan expected, Cmdr. Wells.”
Boudreaux (CO)
“Oh no, this is Starfleet Engineering’s mess. Lieutenant Ford Prefect, the inventor of that blasted device, will be your subject matter expert. I have fulfilled the mission requirements unless Starfleet Command requires more data on the Underspace,” said Wells.
GM
Leaning against the aft wall of the bridge, Mado quietly chuckled. It looked like he would have all the time in the world to investigate the use of Starfleet’s experimental technology now.
Lt. Mado (FSA)
“So you recommend to us the worst possible way to travel home and then it goes bad and you cut and run? I can tell you this right now this is not my mess and I will not fix her mess for her.” Petrov said turning to Wells. ” Sure cut it out or take the whole ship to R&D and study it for years to come.”
Petrov was seeing a way off the ship after all. Scuttle the darn thing.
Petrov CE
“It’s unfortunately above my pay grade. You’ll have to file your complaint with Starfleet Command and Starfleet Engineering. That and this unexpected behavior is out of my realm of expertise. I was only advised on some basics and how to fix the drive if it broke,” replied Wells, “The drive being stuck part of the ship was not something they covered.”
Through everything that had happened over the last few minutes, several things had become clear to Alita. She trusted Remy, the Captain, and wanted to leave it at just that but it was very difficult for her to do so. Surprisingly, Cel’s presence on the bridge was very comforting to her. Perhaps they were becoming a type of family also. She was also highly suspicious of everything involving this experimental technology. It sounded like deliberate sabotage but, at the moment, she didn’t trust herself to speak out on the matter.
Alita, MO/COS
Mikel was half expecting some support for his rebuke. He was more interested in a final solution to his dilemma of being on a ship he did not want to be part of.
PetrovCE
GM
“Well I for one don’t feel safe with that thing being fused onto the ship.” Commander Erin announced as he turned his head towards the CE. “I would let you cut it out yourself, Lieutenant Petrov, but I don’t think Starfleet would want their ship compared to Swiss cheese.” Bryson stated half jokingly.
XO
“EDDIE, take de II Drive offline, shut it down. . . whatever you ‘ave to do to keep it from being used. Right now, dere is not’ine we can do ‘bout de drive, ‘cept keep from usine it. Lt. Claire, I wan’ security posted to it 24/7.”
“Cmdr. Wells, I assume you ‘ave de names of de people an’ can contact dem to investigate dis. . . issue. I wan’ an R&D team onboard as soon as we reach drydock. Dat will give everyone some down time to process dis mis-SHON. Seek out de Counselor if you must, put in for transfers if you must,” Remy said, looking directly at Petrov, “bu’ remember, each of you signed on to Starfleet to boldly go where no one ‘as gone before.”
Cmdr. Erin, you ‘ave de conn,” the Captain finished with and made his way to the Ready Room.
