“All sensors recording? I don’ wan’ to miss a tine.”

“‘Shields up. ‘Elm, take us in,” Remy ordered. “Keep it uneventful.”

Mikel was usually confident with his engines but given all the equipment hooked to them he was less so now. However everything looked good.

“Aye sir. Approaching threshold in… 3, 2, 1…”

The ship entered the Underspace with no problems. They were detecting multiple Vaadwaur ships throughout the Underspace network. Two nearby Vaadwaur ships had changed course within the Underspace and was heading towards their direction. The one primary difference that was immediately apparent from the Voyager’s data was the Underspace looked well maintained, no ship debris or any degrading. It was very likely that the Vaadwaur ships were going to pull out any foreign objects out of the Underspace…

Petrov kept an eye on the engines. They were running well but this was after all a subspace realm they were in.

The consoles read that the Vaadwaur would intercept them in 15 minutes.

Alita glanced up at the Captain and Commander.

“The Vaadwaur will intercept us in fifteen minutes if we stay on this course.”

“Refresh my knowledge, but if they scanned us would they see an asteroid or starship?” The XO asked as his nervousness increased. Bryson wanted to see how far the ship could go without being thrown out. Every minute counted at this point.

OOC: That would be asteroid, but I’ll let Sidney respond to that, since Wells is not on the Bridge.

“Lets go to yellow alert, just in case.”

” An asteroid but not one moving like a ship. We would need to look and act like an asteroid. IF they have been tracking a ship they will be curious to find an asteroid. I have my doubts about this. Lets trust my engines and make a run for it.” He said hoping sanity would prevail.

“Concerns noted, Mr. Petrov. Jus’ make sure de engines are operatine as best as possible, as well as de ‘olo-projector,” Remy replied to the CE.

“A’earn, I’m countine on you to let me know when you tink we ‘ave gotten as much informa-SHON as possible. Tactical, let me know when dose Vaadwaur ships are wit’in firine range.”

If the Captain was making silly decisions that only affected him that would be ok. However his decision could get Petrov killed and that was the problem. If the Vaadwuar were moving to intercept then they darn well already knew a ship was in the vicinity and a sudden asteroid where the ship should be in an area devoid of asteroid debris would indeed draw their attention.

“Were the only thing out here. Were going to be noticed and in a fight.” Mikel spoke up.

Ahearn spoke up as the scan results came in. “Captain, right now all I can see is that this seems to be in line with Voyager’s reports save for the lack of any ship debris; and the lack of degrading is something I find… unusual.”

“Don’ forget, we are a tousand years in de past. De Vaadwaur are still active and mos’ likely keep tines orderly ‘ere,” Remy replied

As the Vaadwuar continued to approach Wells and Mado returned to the bridge. The FSA agent had a scowl on his face, but at this point in the mission that was no longer unusual. Mado took a quick glance around the bridge. The captain had returned… from wherever he was, and a few of the bridge crew looked on edge. Amongst them was the chief engineer. Mado hadn’t met the man yet, but noticed the equally unhappy look on the lieutenant’s face. Something was happening. Mado made a mental note to speak with this fellow malcontent when allotted the time for it.

An observer, Mado quietly made his way to the back of the bridge, where he found a nice unoccupied corner in which he could linger.

Lt. Mado (FSA)

Wells settled back into a science station, next to the Chief Science Officer, and read the status reports of the ship to get up to speed. She had the computer display the transcript of the Bridge crew since she stepped away. When she was caught up, and especially hearing Mr. Ahearn’s comments, she spoke up, “If I recall correctly, Voyager mission reports did indicate that the Vaadwaur had the ability to maintain the Underspace. The lack of any debris could be a contributing factor why the Underspace appears to be so well preserved.”

“Also it means they are well established here and with home field advantage. The better to not try to fake them out and instead out run them. I trust my engines far more than your suspect drives.” Petrov replied.

Petrov CE

Alita had noticed Wells’ and Mado’s return and, for once, she had to agree with Petrov. His engines were far more preferable to whatever voodoo Wells was attempting.

Leaning forward, Remy was on the edge of his seat. His gaze kept switching from the scree to Ahearn and back to the screen. He needed to remain in the Underspace as long as possible to gather as much Intel as they could. “If ships can be expelled from de Underspace, we should be able to get out on our own, no? Petrov be prepared to give me warp speed as soon as we are out. ‘Elm, can you plot a course back to our origin point of de Delta Quadrant?”
